Two good reasons why 2012 is a lie:
1) Only God knows the end of the world.
2) December 21st 2012 was when the Mayan calender ended, not when the world was suppose to end. Also, the Mayans disappeared or died, its not explained. So, they could have disappeared before finishing their calender.

@ernathefat: The solar maximum appears every 11 years. You didn't hear of EMP-caused electronic failures back in 2002 or 1991. Countries did not descend into anarchy, and nobody had to learn to live off the land. So rest easy. The worst that might happen is you might lose some TV channels for a while because a satellite got knocked out.

Ok people Its time for a reality check there is NO deep spiritual meaning to earth or the galaxy. The mayans COULDN'T predict the end because no human being can. There is no god sitting in the clouds plotting a rapture. Did the Mayans really prophesy all sorts of catastrophes for 21 Dec. 2012? Not at all! All that date signifies is the end of is their calendar, not the world. But suppose they had.
