  • i burn shit all the time i really dont care hahahahahaahahahaha and ill burn any gay ass electric car all the way to hell... f hippies

  • I think thats a sign of disrespect towards fallen soldiers! Folding the flag the wrong way and the taps.

    Could have done something else..

please tell me if im wrong please!!

  • no your not wrong, thinking about it a different way isnt pollution a world wide problem so its not just a USA problem so theres another reason why they shouldnt play that song.

  • union members settled the strike by selling out all future workers wages ,CONGRATULATIONS, all union members are self serving chickenshits. you got yours, i hope your grandkids suffer first

  • Big oil said "Get those electrics off the street NOW!" Soon we will be paying $4/gal gas. And the Texas oil men laughing.

  • STARTING THE TH!NKs WERE A PLAN TO CLEAN UP THE BLUE OVAL 100% WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR???? MOSTLY C.A.R.B. and GM and CHEVRON!!!!!!!!

  • I've got an old Mercedes diesel that gets 30mpg highway (which is about what a hybrid with enough room to pack my family gets,) is paid for and I can get fuel just about anywhere and park it anywhere without worrying where I'm going to plug it in. The majority of US citizens aren't interested because of cost and inconvenience, not the economy issue... Gimmie an EV that charges while I eat lunch, make it 25,000 and I'll buy one.

  • You know, the Toyota Prius runs about $8,000.00 - $15,000.00 (depending on year and model), never needs to be plugged in, and, when you fold down the back seat and the right front passenger seat, gives you 8 feet of storage length. Also, at a minimum you'll find the Prius averages about 40 mpg minimum, with most owners getting around 45 mpg. If driven correctly, you'll break 60mpg no sweat. Google 'priuschat' and head over there for more information.

  • So Toyota is a 'green' car company?

Go and look at Toyota's 2008 lineup and tell me how many get over 30mpg ave.

Then explain why Toyota went in with GM to nix legislation requiring improved fuel economy.

Toyota is green and I'm Robert DeNiro.

  • Another reason why Ford is on the verge of bankruptcy. The lack of innovation is killing Detroit. While Tokyo is planning for our demise.

  • Plug-in hybrids folks!

  • thank god for those plug-in priuses.

  • All the Thinks that Ford took back, were sent back to Norway. Here they are the daily driver for many people.

  • Has anyone else also noticed that the only vehicles ford, or any other automaker will make run on e85 are huge vehicles such as the crown vic, or the f150, select yukons, and suburbans. It is obvious that they are trying to create an initial shortage of ethynol to raise the price, and coerce people from jumping on that train. (i personally wouldln't have considering that it takes more energy to create ethynol than to just run on electric.)

  • I have a 2001 f150 and about to replace it. I think I'll get a chevy instead. Thanks for the info.

  • It isn't just Ford. Dodge and Toyota did the same thing with thier CNG vehicles. I still drive a CNG 1994 Caravan. Dodge stopped with those in 1996 If I remember. Toyota had a Camary around 2000. Just a few around. That would have been very popular. The only one in that comsumer space is really Honda and a few GM trucks. Honda's can be ordered now. FuelMaker's Phil station was suppose to be available awhile back and I think it's now just getting some traction.

  • This is just another prime example why Ford and GM are in the shape they are in. It is little wonder why I will NEVER buy a product from eithe one of them. Funny how so called American companies go overseas and the Japanese and Europeans build their factories here.... It is all about the money

  • That lady swallowed a whole chunk in that ford interview and probably drives a gas hogging gt500, and at any point the shipped the insult to the ev industry to norway to be sold to other then the previous owners? SAD, Henry Ford had a great company in the days, not today, all fed on profit....

  • They could clean up the blue oval , byt stoppin gthe import of salavaged preowned vehicles to midwestern states, and selling them as factory warrantied to less then good credit folks, these are salvaged and flooded vehicles that ford has made there money off of at least 5x over. and not to mention are UNSAFE!

  • Ford, should face a tribunal on there 'questionable' decsions, many years Ford has evaded legal action, this should be the time! Their Environmental officer should be FIRED!!!

  • AC Propulsion made the T-Zero and is now making scion conversions. They will be available in late 2006. They also sell their great controllers to Telsa for their EV and Venturi Fetish.

  • The market for EVs is large and untapped, but $50k Scions and $100k roadsters won't cut it. Your common American can't afford that. We need a $20k family sedan with 200 miles range. The technology's been there for a decade, but the big automakers outright refuse.

We all know EVs could be affordable in large volume, but the big automakers with the economies of scale refuse to mass produce EVs, while the small businesses wanting to make EVs don't have the economies of scale for mass production.

  • The Think was an embarassment to the image of electric cars.

The GM EV1 of the time with NiMH batteries did 140-160 miles per charge, 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds, and was governor limited to 80 mph(remove the governor, top speed could be a bit over 180).

The Solectria Force with NiMH did 180-200 miles per charge(mpc), seats 4. The Solectria Sunrise of the time did 350 mpc, seats 4, 80 mph. The Toyota RAV4 electric did 120 mpc, seats 5, 80 mph.

So electrics were viable then. Even moreso now.

  • The Th!nk was a great car that made me a convert to electric. After Ford confiscated mine, I bought a used RAV4 EV. Hundreds of drivers got turned on to electric because of the Th!nk. It did extremely well what it was meant for - local, including highway, driving, for 50 miles. I'd buy one today.

  • Most people didn't recognize the car for what it was though. They thought 'golf cart'.

But hey, it was very cheap to run! Nothing wrong with that.

The RAV4 EV is a nice rig. 80 mph top speed, 120 miles range, NiMH batteries that last > 150,000 miles.

You know what got me turned onto EVs? The TZero!

Other EVers are on youtube. 'mistermath' is one of them.

  • You might be confusing the Th!nk City and the Th!nk Neighbor. The City was freeway capable with NiCAD batteries. Have you seen the Tesla Roaderster? (www.teslamotors.com)

  • 55 mph top speed for the City would get you clobbered on many freeways if you're not careful. Maybe it if had a higher top speed, around 70 mph or so, it would have been alright. It certainly had the power to do it, just would have needed a small change in gearing.

The concept version shown in that video sure had the right looks to sell.

I've seen the Tesla Roadster. Nearly creamed my pants at the site of it. Love it.
