I've fought him. He's easy if you fight him with a Mace in one hand and healing restoration in the other. I was a level 11 at the time so... if you're higher imagine the strength you have to defeat him. I'm sure the game wouldn't allow you to "Kill" him just yet anyways which would explain the non-existance healthbar.

Alduin (and many of the enemies) are glitched and will not scale past level 50. Almost, dragons are all glitched in that their armor rating is broken. Dragons have no armor, so they always take full damage from everything. This usually isnt an issue since they have massive health pools. However, late game when you can forge ridiculous grade weapons, it becomes very apparent. Armor Rating in ES:S caps at 567 points for max effectiveness. Thats an 80% damage reduction.

Real Skyrim? This is real Skyrim. This would happen regardless, you cant hurt Alduin unless your a DragonBorn.. and a DragonBorn that knows Dragonrend. Normal ppl cant even damage Alduin. Have you ever tried to hit Alduin in the wild? no damage is tooken.
