@hjeter1217- Have you thought of that from outside the religious viewpoint? I know it's something of a moot-point because when you die and there is no afterlife, you won't be thinking of anything. But, seriously, if you come to the conclussion that there is no God, through whatever means; you would not feel at all regretful for the time, money, energy and focus you put into centering your life around something you found was not to be true?

I'm asking because that's what happened to me.

@hjeter1217- Ok, I thought you were smarter than this. I said "even if He were real", because of the things done in the Bible and how our world is. If the Bible is true about who God is and what He does; He's acts are immoral and very horrible!

Also, you actually just backed up my opinion... religion causes some pretty crazy acts. I don't know that no one has ever killed or died for Bigfoot, but I firmly believe the number would be far below the millions killed or dead for God.

@besidemymind instead of listening and making opinions of what you may have heard or skimmed through in the Bible why don't you read it from cover to cover. Read it several times and then maybe you partially get the jest of it. sometimes "what happens" is not always as important as "why" something happened. Lack of knowlege on the Bible itself is one reason why people don't understand it. You can't just read or hear one part.

@hjeter1217 It's funny you say that because I was a Christian until I was about 24. I was raised in church living in NC and went a very fundamentalist Christian school. I had Bible classes through college and have read the entire Bible a few times over.

Here's the issue with your statement: Do I take the Bible completely literal as I was taught since being a child? Or do I pick what was actual vs. what was principle? Not even every Christian even agrees with the Bible, thus dozens of sects.

God would soon kill everyone than to send Jesus to save them? Yes, it's what He did. What's the 'why'?

Also, how am I supposed to take 2 Kings 2: 23-24? I could never get a solid answer on this one since I was a kid. It's actually the seed that started my disbelief. I'm atheist because of the Bible.

How do you know your faith is the right one? I bet it is because of how and where you were raised. Christianity is in the American culture but this doesn't prove it true. The same principle can used with Islam in Iran.

You know what your problem is? Christianity is not about religion. It's about a relationship with Christ. Jesus Christ was against religious thinking if you read the Bible. GOd is not a virus. There are certain religions out there that make it seem that way but Christianity doesn't. All you have to do is get on your knees and pray. Accept Jesus as your personal Saviour. Make him the LORd of your life. The GOd we serve is a GOD of grace, mercy and love. He loves you moer than you'll ever know.

What are you talking about? If the body naturally healed itself "anyway" (which seems to imply it would whether or not you took antibiotics), then people wouldn't need antibiotics in the first place. People are given antibiotics to kill an infection their body isn't fighting off. You only take antibiotics for 10 days because it takes about that long to kill the bacteria. If you kept taking it you would continuously kill the beneficial bacteria in your body that you need to survive.

More to the point - The infection is mostly killed off in the first few days but we are given about 10 days of antibiotics and we are instructed to take it all, to provide a sort of overkill.

This is to ensure any bacteria that may have a slight resistance to the antibiotic are taken out as well. If we do not eliminate the slightly resistant bacteria, they will likely recover and become an infection that is much more difficult to eliminate with the same medication. Evolution in action!

I know someone who was given six months to live because she had cancer. She's still alive today, 10 years later. No shots, no antibiotics. You can't tell me that GOD isn't real. Excellent topic! The religion virus also attaches itself to hospitals (Jewish Hospital, for example). Religion has absolutely nothing to do with science. It's the medicine that cures you not the nun that comes in and prays with you. It's a sort of mental trick to make people think that god gave man the intelligence to invent such wonderful life saving technologies and medicines. I want to see a Atheist Hospital in my area.

Catching Religion, I see it like this, I support a certain Football team (soccer team) but I know I only support them because my father did.

The closest to religion I have came is my team, I enjoy and feel excited when I watch them, I feel sad and angry when we get defeated but cry tears of joy when we smash another teams arse into the ground.

I read up most days for the events and give them money through buying shirts and going to the matches when I can.

Great show. Ditto on the comments below about the intro - it looks great. I completely agree with you that it's a confusion provoking mistake to use the 19th century "missing link" phrase.

Since you mentioned the MARTA word-play, I've a question about a similar one. Does "Hot-lanta" refer to the temperature, or the city's reputation for liveliness?

Good show, but you really need a better encoder or highter bitrate, the sound is harsh and a pain to listen to.

That's to bad, you put alot of effort into the show, guests attending and so forth. And it's not woth 100MB per show to archive it in a resonable bitrate?

1h audio should easily be squeezed down alot more than 100MB and still sound crisp. Around 100kbit vbr and no one would notice anything, this must be closer to 32 than 64kbit.

If you need to squeeze it even more, have you tried downsampling to 1 channel, that should reduce wasted bits.

Take it the right way, im just trying to help!

@slarne, this show was recorded at 64kbps.  youtube compresses it further. The file I uploaded was 84MB. Remember, these are hour long shows. Not 10 minute clips.

What you need to do is get some good filters for your post editing software, there was a lot of plug-ins that had different filters which could be used to compress raw sound to roughly 20 megs per hour without a significant reduction in sound quality. You can also post-edit the puffing sound you sometimes make. You cannot make a good sound for YT since the listener are using different speakers, from laptops to sound systems with amplifiers & equalisers or perhaps headphones of different quality.
