@furetosan You cannot TRULY go beyond emotion, peace/void with your intellect. Your negations arise from your thinking machine. We just end up leaping from one mental position to another - endlessly... U.G. is not a philosopher.... BeAware of using his statements as "fuel" for your intellect
UG may have been brilliant and freely seeing/achknowledging the limits of ego and even leaning us toward considering/experiencing what lies beyond, YET he feels emotionally toxic. That is not a desirable state of being in my view. So best taken with a grain of salt IMO (like everyone else for that matter, including myself)
@TroyStetina Hmm... He does appear to be "emotionally toxic" :) But not really. I felt the same about him for many months. Many genuine teachers will bring up all our deepest, avoided shit just by being in their presence.

@spacecruiser101 I suppose that could be true. Yet that is a handy excuse... "what SEEMS to be irritation and attack on my part is really just a clever plan to trigger your deepest shit." By this method,we all could rationalize never owning our own emotional triggers and thereby never dissolving them. Personally, one of my aims is to live free of all irritation/frustration - even if I’m teaching something for the thousandth time and my ‘student’ doen’t get it. Still, a great respect for him...
@TroyStetina Yeah, its not so logical or thought out for the "realised" person though... They never "plan" to trigger your shit (its just the natural function of the void) All dirt rises to the surface. They sure can express irritation because they have a physical body ;) Author Jack Kornfield was meditating in Nisargadatta's home. Nisargadatta was reading the paper and looking really annoyed - but still he had the most profound peace/void emanating from him.
@spacecruiser101 ...it appears to me that his irritations were genuine. Impossible to infer with certainty what was happening inside him at those moments, but it appears to me that he literally was not feeling well and that was coloring his communication. When the body is ill (and full of stored, unresolved resentments), capacity for patience and kindness is reduced. But he's on the mark conceptually IMO.
@TroyStetina Yeah - I think we have many ideas about what a realized soul is supposed to act like. I'm pretty sure their thinking/conceptual mind is like a very thin piece of paper. Thats why they don't really believe their own concepts - like u.g. - his way is to expose your concepts. In most cases our "separation" is very deep, therefore it is quite shocking at first - very hard for our nervous system to face naked reality.
I agree with work on triggers definitely ! Working with toxicity :)
Emotional toxicity and/or peace and void are just concepts in people's heads.
