  • Men at Work in the background!

  • I love that you can hear Men At Work playing the background. Ha. Made this video that much better.

  • Nice iron stand- certainly looks easier to work with than a 3rd hand

  • Whats the story with the new XLR connectors Neutrik have brought out? they're really annoying to solder.

  • I find it interesting (considering your accent) that the song in the background is "Down Under by Men at Work. :-)

  • Быстро же он спаял шнурочек... Я бы раза в три дольше возился. хотя занимаюсь пайкой лет 15.

Только не видны подробности - камеры далеко, типа.

И я первый раз такой паяльный станочек вижу, кстати!

  • The wire strippers are General 69's.

  • What kind of wire stripper are you using. I really need to get a better one. Any sajestions.

    Cheers!

  • Great Vid, you make it look so so easy ! What are the wire strippers you are using ? thanks DL

  • terrible quality, couldnt see much of what he was doing

  • Give us a smile Leon :)

  • I just got one female conector and it was the first time i did it...i actually wrapped the wries around the pins and the solder them on top and the third one i left longer, around the pin and to the; what i believe is the, ground. I tested my cable with an SM58 on a Fender Vibro Champ XD and it sounded amazing xD, i was just using the cable and mike to play Rockband 3.

  • nice video, but you need more close ups

  • The other reason for not applying to much heat for too long is you'll oxidize the connect... Which will in fact cause a dry joint! And don't forget to clean the joint afterwards to get rid of contamination! Which I didn't see in any of these videos... another 2mins won't hurt and could add a little extra life to the connection!

  • what is the difference b/w XLR and NEUTRIK XLR ? Are they same ?

  • XLR & Neutrik XLR are the same.

  • @proaudiostash neutrik is just the brand of the xlr is the most expensive but is also the best. in terms of quality and work they grabe the solder so much better than the wother kind´s like proel and so on

  • @masif322

Neutrix is a brand of cable connectors.

  • @masif322 The difference is quality. Get the cheaper ones and be prepared to be looking for that "bad cable" in your chain later on when you don't have time to be chasing cable problems. Watch the musicians get impatient while precious time evaporates because you saved a few dimes getting cheapo XLR connectors.

  • but neutrik kicks ass in terms of sound quality!

  • @masif322 XLR is a type of audio connector (usually used for 3 pin microphone cable.) Neutrik is just the brand name, lots of companies make XLR connectors, but Neutriks are amazing!

  • Bit of "Men at work" in the background gents.. Pity they're getting sued for Billions over that song isn't it ?

  • where can i get a soldering stand like that?

  • That soldering contraption is pretty sweet, but it looks like you've burned your hands quite a bit.

  • Thanks

  • where can i buy the cable

  • can this work for any xlr like radioshack mic xlr

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, we use Neutrik because we consider them to be the best

  • This is a great video and I love your setup for soldering. I definitely learned how to save a little time. Would you post a video of a TRS 1/4?

  • what kind of cable do i need to make xlr audio cable and where i can buy it

  • hello man, thanks for the vid! i have 2 questions if u can answer..

1)Why do you put solder on the stripped wires and then cut it off

    2) Does the solder type make any difference? I got an alloy 60/40 1mm diameter, will that do ok?

    Thanks!

  • 1) You tin the wires to make it easier for the wire to take to the solder in the solder cups.

    2) Solder should not make any difference as long as you have flux in it. 60/40's fine. Remember not to fill loads in to the solder cups as this will cause hesitance.

  • thank you man, really appreciate it!

  • that was meant to say 'resistance'

  • Can you tell me the difference between a xlr microphone cable and a xlr audio cable? Is a balanced xlr cable the same as a xlr audio cable??? thanks

  • There is no difference, they are the same thing. Just different names. Thanks

  • Would it be possible to make a video of you making a Neutrik Speakon cable?

  • Definitely...we can do one of next ones on that.

  • Thank you. I need to make a custom length speaker cables for some bandmates.

  • how do you do this without burning the crap out of your fingers lol

  • you don't, enough burnt fingers!!

  • i need to know the wire color and number patterns for RCA to XLR mic cable

    ~HELP!!!!~ME!!!~~~

  • Red is Hot (on Pin 2 on the XLR) and black is return .

Are you using this cable for an amp to mixer?

  • we could look into the cost of making one for you if your interested?

  • we made this in house, we've been through loads of designs until we got to this one

  • where do you get a iron mount like that? what's the actual name of that contraption? great video! (just wish i had that same setup)
