  • Oregon trivia: the music was written by Andy from the Plaid Pantry Project. Great video btw!

  • No way are these guys gong to tell anyone what river or location this is. I have been fishing up there for 8 years now, the locals are more closed lipped than surfers in California.

  • Cant believe all these ignorant comments...

  • South Fork Wilson?

  • good job!

  • Is this the Wilson?

  • Awesome river, wicked fish, perfect camera work.

    And seasoned fishing skills :)

  • i love my home state of oregon!!!

  • i know what centerpin fishing is, id rather just use my casting rod with a bobber though. and i don't care if you think fly fishing is a pussy thing. it's badass in everway possible and very fun to do. fighting a fish on a fly rod is somthing else man. tossing an egg fly or a nymph to a steelhead is as natural as it gets besides the real thing.. fly fishing s effective if you know how, know people who have had 10+ fish days in a small stretch of river on flies.

  • bid ol fish on the fly hell yeah

  • It's like a Sniper team went fishing...methodical.

  • Lovely

  • @onbradley, centerpining is amazing for big rivers, small waters like this are more fly orientated. I work at a flyshop in souther oregon and my boss builds centerpin rods with sage spey rod blanks.

  • Not a big fan of this spot fishing kinda takes the sport part out of it. I find the most rewarding part of steelheading next to landing one is just hiking a few miles of river finding new spots.

  • i love it when people say fly fishing is gay, they just say that because it's to hard for them and they got pissed beacuse they didn't catch fish so they stick to throwing hardware at spawning fish, fly fishing is fun once you lear how, and ,nymphing is awesome i lovre indicator fishing, ill be hitting up this river next month ( i only live like 50 miles from it)

  • @slipknotbot There's a way to mediate this issue, which has already been settled--drift fishing. Casting and retrieving hardware is a technique imported by folks from Bass country and it doesn't work. Likewise, tossing flies is for the most part a waste ot time. The real deal on the coast is centerpin or drifitng with a baitcaster. If you don't know what those are, you're not from around here. Either of those will bring in 10* more fish than hardware and fly combined.

  • @onbradley Let me guess, Your probably one of the folks who use a 10' leader with a bead and a 3/0 hook when you "drift fish with a baitcaster" for steelhead? Sir I must say thats not real fishing, thats flossing.. And Its not considered legit in my book. I perfer and cast a fly I tied myself at steelhead, not a piece of yarn on a hook. just my 2 cents.

  • WoW !

Another group of homosexuals with fly rods and and a bottle of wine. Real men don't Fly Fish, Golf, drink Latte's or watch Broke Back Mountain

  • @cunninghamwendell real men dont fly fish? how does that make any sense???

  • @eryman17 i used to think this way too but then i realized i think that is because i dont even know where to start when it comes to fly fishing for steelies. sure looks like a lot more fun landing a steelhead on a fly rod

  • @cunninghamwendell You sir, are retarded.

  • sweeet

  • nymphing for steelies is an artform, it is so much more intense than swinging flies, any retard can swing a flie but it takes a truly talented fisherman to drift bugs. I would much rather reproduce the fishes dietary shcedule than intimidating them to bite with evasive looking flies, hey steelswinger why dont you go swing some flies into the spawning beds
