ooooooo you've been to myrtle beach twice, that makes you what practically an oceanic engineer and bathymetry expert, going to myrtle beach twice (hahahahahaha) and looking at pictures on google images does not make you an expert.
if i'm not mistaken myrtle beach not only face almost directly south it's also tucked into the part of the east coast thats protected by North Carolina. combine that with the fact that it sits at one of the widest points of the continental shelf. what does that mean?
It means it's unlikely for most waves to even get to myrtle beach as most waves in the Atlantic (with the exception of tropical systems) come from the blustery northern atlantic ocean as opposed to the relatively calm equatorial ocean (where they called it the doldrums aka area of no wind).
And those few waves that do head to myrtle beach are going to be halved in size because the water is so shallow for close to 100 miles.
This means myrtle beach is almost perfectly situated to see the least amount and the smallest wave action of anywhere on the east coast, and as bad as surfers in vb have it (and its pretty dam bad) being a south carolina surfer must be complete and total hell,
You should learn not to generalize a group of people as stupid or idiotic, otherwise one of them who's much more learned than you on the subject may make you look like an idiot
@cruizer8293 i don't look at pictures on google i don't even hardly use google and i never said i was an expert but i study the ocean alot and i have noticed that the pacific is better for surfing
@baseballguy65 agreed, it's not all that bad. VB has some decent waves on a regular basis, obviously not west coast stuff but still enough to keep a boarding community alive and happy.
Umm those are shitty shore breaks, you'd break your board if you tried to surf them. I've had soooo much better there. You should have videotaped Hanna. That was some killer surf.
those are actually pretty average waves. in rhode island at Masquamicet (don't know how to spell it) the waves are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! i mean they are so big that they made a huge 6' 4' 260 lbs(maybe bigger) guy do 3 cartwheels in the water. now that is huge. and he was paying attention to the waves too, obviously cause they were so huge!
You're a disgrace to VB take this shit down. We may not get a lot of waves but that is a normal day not "Super Huge Waves". When Noel hit it was 8-9 feet, maybe you should filmed then.
there bigger than jaws or mavricks

@bacura101 depends how you mesure it. to me, a 5 foot wave is 2 feet over head. I measure 5'-7"
