Hey fatboy, you are right about the money to build a FE engine. I have to say that it does not matter what ford engine you build ,it will cost you BIG coin! I have 6 grand in to my 72 cleveland and it is not even assemblied yet. And fuck yes it should go like shit ( or just go with a 460, remember there is no replacement for displacement.
the only problem with the 351m and the 400m is they were not built for horse power, they were torque monsters meant for work trucks, you can get alot of horsepower out of em but your gonna spend a fortune when you can spend half as much on a 351 cleveland or whensor and get twice the power.

400/351m drop clevland style heads and intake on it dont forget the spacers tho put in a strokern kit .060 over 4x2 induction and c6 with kieser overdrive kit and shift kit,4.11 gears spool in the rear and selectable locker up front some 38s and you will have one hell of a bronco

sounds like an old 6.9 diesel not fast but enough torque to pull your house across the country the 400 was an amazingly well designed engine i wish i could have one in an old f250 that would be awsome
@MustangsMan you can make decent power out of the 351m. if you want serious power out of that blcok though, you need to swap in a 400 crank and pistons since the block are identical, then you can go from there with machine work and internals. good enough don;t underestimate it

you can... takes a bit more than other.
stroke it to a 400, raise compression, advance timing, intake, carb, and headers.... that will give you a great engine..
