in your videos, you are puting regular pistons instead of sticky and puting the piston one block ahead so you dont waste recources. at 6:00, instead of puting a sticky put a regular one. if im not right i havent saw the rest of the vid im only at 6m so you dont have to respnse the reason

you can actually make the eggs travel as far as you want them to, without having the water gonig down a single layer. kiershar has a good tutorial on it :) great video tho, im going to build this on my own, chickens are annoying

you could have had the eggs and chickens go down one shoot rather than two and just changes the height of the entry to allow for eggs or chickens for what you wanted at that time

If I might ask why do you take the chickens to cook an the chicken to lay eggs from the same coop ? I was thinking of buld a coops just for eggs full of chickens and have another that I topup with the eggs from the 1st to breed meat. That way you always have a good suppie of eggs. Pehapens I am missing something ?

i have been looking all over youtube and i cant find it, for the despencer, is there a way so it auto shoots eggs with a flick of a swtich and when you flick it again it stops the eggs AND the clock, i dont want a clock going 24/7 if i dont need it

@joshfuckingparsons the concept could be similar. i'd transport cows and pigs using minecarts though since you have to breed them instead of hatch eggs.

@monkeyfarm or you could breed the cows and pigs and sheep in a room, then having them swim through the streams the same as chickens, you would just have to seperate the sheep, from the cows and pigs which would go through the fire

@monkeyfarm Thanks for the great tutorial. I built the contraption on a multiplayer map but I'm finding that when I return to the coup that there are raw chickens scattered around it. They are clustered on the corner where there are the blocks to cover the hole in the top layer of water. I'm wondering if the chickens glitch into the block and suffocate. I rejigged it so that the water covers all the top layer and removed the corner blocks but still my chickens die. Any ideas?

@kirky11dave havent tried it on a server. i wonder if you could drop water from each corner, then shut all of them off with the switch. it would push them into the middle but i dont think theyd die from swimming into each other - just if theyre pushed into a wall.?? not sure.

Great way to get chickens and eggs I built one but different.

for the climbing chicken, why not try slabs? the chickens should be able to climb up slabs just like stairs and although they do take two blocks to climb one block there are two blocks of water anyway.

@hellsascendant slabs work the same as stairs. i tested both.  the chickens can still occasionally get stuck because half of the block is 'air'

Because water only goes 7 (8?) blocks if you make it stop without going down if you place another water sorce block on the block down you can increase the legenth untill you have to go down a level.

i build one in my sp world, but those freakin` chicken won´t get burned, they always make it through the netherrack.... i don´t know why...maybe someone could help me :)

P.S: how much space is between the netherrack and the ceiling ? i have left 1 block above the netherrack...

@MrEddyJS I have 2 blocks open above the fire, and 1 block open in front of the fire for the chickens to go through... that way they cant get through at all without going through the fire, but there's room above where they dont get stuck in the fire.

About the chicken drowning at the stairs... I've built almost the same coop design and i had the same problem so i put signs above stairs, not one block back and yes, chicken stop there sometimes, but eventually they all come to the coop alive and none of them drowns. So in spite of taking a long time they don't seem to drown anymore. Hope that helps anyone who's building this ;)

@GeneralKruII The point of this is to have ALL controls in the base and the chickens far away and quiet... 1) I'd have to refill the eggs up in the coop; and 2) I wouldn't know how many chickens hatched if I couldn't see it (not every egg hatches into a chicken)

Hey Monkeyfarm, I've been a stalking lurker of your videos for some time - love em! Great work. One question about this, I built the KFC based on your old video in my single player world and it worked beautifully (although I did see the drowning issue you mentioned occasionally) I copied my base and kfc onto a multiplayer server however and it seems that my chickens in the coop all drown over time - any experience with this or possible solutions to keep em alive and ready for dinner? Hm... the design is pretty good, I'll probably make one of these, but You might want keep another group of chickens seperate from the main group, that only lay eggs that flow to the same cannal, so when you kill the first group you don't need to wait for the new ones to grow and start laying eggs. Efficiency.
