Great Tutorial! You mentioned adding the key to the group, how would you add more footage to that group? Do you have to highlights all the different clips in Final Cut and then send it to Motion?
@ozcavazos Highlight the clips and right-click, or right-click on the sequence's icon in your workspace, and send to motion. One thing I should have mentioned: keying the whole group will be fine if it's pretty much the same shot across the board. Keying different shots will probably screw up the key a bit because of different camera angles, lighting, etc, especially when it comes to hair. You may have to key each clip in the group separately, if that's the case.
@worldskb Good advice, and thanks for the speedy response! We just got a new green screen set up and we really wanted to put it to the test. So we tested it with my friend who has some crazy hair and even then, it turned out good. Not as good as it could be if he owned a comb, but pretty good. I've been using the final cut keyer but sending it to motion is going to help tons. thanks!
Thanks, the best Chroma Keying tut I've seen. It was very considerate of you to explain every step instead of assuming your audience knew everything already.
oh cool. I'm going from Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 to Final cut. I'm really looking forward to learning a new program. One of the biggest things that I do when editing is Keying. thanks for the pointers and tips. Once I get up to speed with Final Cut, I will most def. come back and watch this again. thanks-
