You need to listen to this classic song a few times to appreciate the beauty of it. Yoshiki is truly a talented musician and with the perfect combination of other team members : hide (guitar) + Pata (guitar) + Heath (bass) + Toshi (vocal), they became a mega band in Japan in the nineties...This is not an overstatement, they are still madly loved by fans. My son of 9 years old is also their crazy fan.

This song is an album compilation, too. Beside that it's one of the greatest lyrics ever and considering the name of it...I'd say it's quite good. No words or comments are enough to describe this one. This is, simply, something you can't hear everyday on some hit radio nor anything similar. This song has a soul in it, three years of writing notes and a guitarist that died and had one of the most beautiful funerals ever. R.I.P. Matsumoto Hideto-sama. Great Sagittarius guitar player.

Take Yoshiki's piano solo; it starts out melodious to symbolise the beggining of your life, he then throws in minor clashing notes to express the building hardships of your youth, he then throws in a torrent of clashing notes to express the hardships of your adult life. In the end, it becomes melodious again to symbolise the sweet release of death. Understand my view?

Sort of, I still don't see why people are calling it the best song ever composed. You can simulate the hardships of life without using random notes, and to use random notes instead of complementing notes isn't really something I see as artistic, but as being lazy. The piano break I don't see anything spectacular in artistically.The rest of the song I found very 'copy-cat'. You can find a few Metallica riffs in there and the one section is played exactly like an old Iron Maiden song.
