  • fantastic video, great taste in guitars too!

  • 4:23 Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle?

  • This was the first electric guitar I ever held in my hand when I was a nipper of around 7 or 8 years old in 1972/3, not sure exact year. My old man owned bars all over Glasgow and a Fender Mustang was found in the cellar of a bar he had just taken over in the City Centre. It was a kind of yellowish brown colour or we thought so until a guitarist took it away for a few days. He brought it back pure white. It had turned yellowish brown due to being played in the smoke filled bar for years LMAO

  • I want it. I want it right the hell now.

  • great review! Watched this a year ago and it gave me enough reason to buy my first fender mustang!

  • This is guitar american or japanese?

  • @adairleite Japanese, he sais so in the beginning of the video.

  • do u think the pickups work well with disortion cuz i think it doesnt for some.

  • @yangadoshi Depends on the amp... Some amps with pre-setings works fine, if you use pedal effects then it can work or will sound shity. I would recomend upgreading the pickups cuz they are alittle thin sounding

  • Damn, they sound F'N awesome.

I'm getting one in Dakota Red.

  • Heyy your not too bad your pretty good at guitar, nice guitar .

  • What's the riff at 4:01?

  • does this mustang have a gold fender logo? mine does and i'm trying to work out what year re issue it is as i bought it second hand, cheers in advance mate

  • hey man! nice review!!

    is the tremolo system okay?

  • @GennadiosArvanitis It can be and it cant. you better seartch for "how to hold the mustaang trem in tune" he shows/tells you how to set it up right

  • Really sweet sounding cleans with both in phase. Thinking of upgrading my Dano Pro to this sometime soon.

  • Sweet little axe mate, Your a big Fender fan I take it.

  • what song are you playing?

  • Hope to get one of this late 90s jap reissue before they run out.. i'm kinda tired of my buzzing cheapass weak squier strat twin pivot bridge... not so cheap. :(

  • Kurt cobaine used the fender mustang peopleeeeee

  • can this do any punk?

  • @CCboogers Considering that Kurt Cobain and various other Grunge guitarists used this, yes.

  • @CCboogers Of course it can. It was one of the main guitars of the grunge scene.

It's Fender's equivalent of the Les Paul Junior, which is probably the most punk guitar ever (Mick Jones, Steve Jones, Pete Shelly)

  • Whats the song at 1:31?

  • What's that riff at 4:46???

  • Where do they built them ? in Japan?

  • is the build quality good on this? my uncle has one from when he was a kid and it sounds like shit. but i dig this sound on the reissue.

  • @krazy4knives, back in the 60's Mustang guitars and basses were "cheap instruments" intended for "students, kids or girls" (so the advertisment use to say).

the Japanese reissues are very nice instruments, with all the Japanese quality, good materials and quality pickups.

my Mustang Bass (reissue, from 99/2002) became my N°1, beating with no difficulties my Precision and my Jazz Special. really great instrument.

  • Here by my side, an angel...

  • good demo

  • what is that godly song.

  • my uncle had one idont know what year it was but i think it was brown faded into black and one part was made like bent or somethen like that

  • 22 thought was gonna be a car.

  • Is that a squier version?

  • @11910blackops Nope.

  • what song is at 1:31?

  • What's the song at around 3:20?

  • i'm in love with that guitar! thanks for the review ^-^

just a silly question... what's it's weight? (aprox)

  • @eivven Lighter than a Fender strat , also shorter neck

  • Hmmm... Looks like Dave Grohl swiped one of Kurt’s Mustangs!!!

  • i want that guitar its awesome!

  • yeah its illegal to demonstrate that guitar without playing a nirvana song lmao

  • What amp are you using?

  • is it more bassy then a normal stratocaster or more trebly ?

  • @plotonisradd more trebly and bright. it also has a shorter scale neck then a stratocaster,

  • baby blue shirt, baby blue guitar... hmmm....interesting

  • 2:35 whats that song?

  • thats a beautiful guitar...

  • Hey could you tell me what pickups this has? Is there just one humbucker? Also, did you check out the jaguar black and chrome HH MIJ? I'm deciding between the two and am my sure which is better for the 90s alt. Sound. Any thoughts would be helpful. Great playing love your review.

  • Sweet man, and Frances Farmer and some epic Nirvana haha

  • review = awesome, ending = fail

  • Mustang, Orange Amp, SM57? You have my wishlist in your room.

  • That's a great sounding guitar. The "both pickups out of phase" sounds real humbuckery too, versatile guitar. For lead guitar just learn some scales, but leave out 2 or 3 random notes every time you go up and down them. That will make it sound like you're not just doing blues wank and have some kind of plan.

  • at 4:00 wat song is that its so cool

  • @greenday10fan

    "Weapon" by Matthew Good

    It's off the album "Avalanche"

  • @greenday10fan Weapon by Matthew Good.

  • Hi great demo , i have a little question , the radius neck is 7,25 o modern 9,5 ?

    thanks so much.

  • what is the name of the song you played first? I regognize the intro so much of some reason haha :D

  • @TheDopeOctapuss I put Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge of my Mustang. That did the trick. It isn't as heavy as my Jaguar but it will get you what you want for sure.

  • THE MUSTANG PICKUP IS IN THE SAME SIZE AS STRAT PICKUP? @fenderjaguar1985

  • @SuperDsffdsf I see what you're saying my mistake. My Jaguar has Hot Rails in it my Mustang has Seymour Duncan Little 59's in it! Yeah there is a difference in pickup size. The Jaguar is definitely heavier sounding but with a few tweaks to the amps and pedals the Mustang will reach out and touch you.

  • @SuperDsffdsf In my strat I'm thinking about putting in the Hot Rails as well. If the Strat responds iike the Jaguar did to them I will be pleased for sure. Might even try to go heavier on the strat.

  • @TheDopeOctapuss That's what I did with my Vintage '64. You should be very happy.

  • Still got it mate?

  • I hate how he says "8's"

  • "Argh Terrible" :) Beautiful guitar! Great playing :) x

  • sex and candy lol

  • nice tone but not in tune

  • how much is it?

  • @triclops8 1000 for reissue and a lot more for the original. I cant believe why anyone would sell an original mines great.

  • @SerialJoe1 I own a few shorter scales and i'm pretty tall so it made it uncomfortable at times standing up, but not greatly.

  • @TheDopeOctapuss how did it go?

  • @SaintMrSomebody You're fucking ugly.

  • @nieh31

    still staying with my opinion...

    fuck u all!!

  • Sold a Mustang for an American Tele. Best decision of my life.

  • I just bought a Fender Players Jaguar HH. Also new to replacement pickups. Can a Seymour Duncan trembucker work well or is the spacing going to be an issue?

  • have you had any issues with hitting the switches while rocking out? I've played on a Jag and I like the sound and fit but I hate the placement of the switches.

  • i hear the neck is a shorter scale; does that make them harder to play compared to regular guitars?

  • one day i was like "hey, maybe i should get a mustang" then i looked around. i saw this and went out and applied for a job to get one.

  • @getpissedanarchist

i cant get one yet so that sucks! ):

but i have a feeling if i didl, screw a car, ill just buy a shedload of guitars :L

  • @getpissedanarchist are you me?

  • You look like one of the guitarists in Bonsai Nation.

  • @gdrugg2006 I ate a Bonsai tree when I was 7

  • Sex and candy is the first song

  • I love jangly guitars like these. That's enough of my technical talk for now.

  • OH NO, PANDORA'S BOX HAS BEEN OPENED!

  • Wow, I want that shit so badddz

  • lol i have a 65' mustang... american made... old as my dad...

  • @sekacbarc Me too but older

His once didn't know how much it was worth in 1990 and sold it to him for 100$ with an amp he's sad now lol

  • meh

  • thats sound so Nirvana :) even playing other song when i listen you playing I remenber to think " I know this type of sound... then i realize .... this is Nirvana Kurt's Guitar ... Nice guitar :)

  • dave grohl shampoos my crotch.

  • i smell sex and, candy.

  • the prices on these are just absolutely ridiculous now.

  • @MichaelCasanovaMusic as in high or low?

I picked one up in the US for $650 AUD with a hard case included! i paid an extra $90 AUD for it to be shipped to Australia. what a great buy!!

It's exactly the same as this one, but i changed the pickup covers to white. along with the switches. Knobs are black though still :D Looks great :D

  • That was a really cool review mate

  • I love mustangs. think they are definitely one of the most attractive electric guitars. just struggle with the electronics (unnecessarily complicated, only a couple of usable tones.) wouldn't it be better with just a Gibson type 3 way switch? and the short scale neck with its excessive slimness at the nut. thinking of getting a full scale 65 inspired mustang made up with the three way. compliments to the guitar. beautiful in Daphne blue.

  • Amazing Guitar Man! How Much $??

  • dude, I love your demo's and using Low in the credits is just ace!

  • some great sounds coming out of that!

  • I WANT IT

  • KURT IS THE ONLY ONE THAT USE THOSE BUT HE PLAYED STRATS JAGUARS AN JAGSTANG SO IF YOU LIKE NIRVANA YOU DONT NEED TO GET IT KURT USE MANY GUITARS

  • Sex and candy! Nice.

  • Big fender fan, nice x]

  • I play this exact one today on a Marshall stack thinking it would sound like Nirvana, but I was highly disappointed. It sounded sort of country-western or something. But otherwise a very nice guitar, beautiful, light, and easy to play.

  • @guitargod9000 i play it on my marshall too and it sounds good if you know the right settings, just mess about with the settings and you will find a nice sound

  • It sounds a lot like my MIJ Jazzmaster!

  • i'm planning to buy one, but someone told me that this reissue is not good, could someone tell me if this guitar is as good as de vintage mustang of it's bad? thanks!

  • @facuumj i just bought it in daphne blue and it is like sex, nothing compares to vintage but this is still one of the best guitars out there

  • 4:25

♫I'll miss the comfort in being♫

    ♫SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADD!!!♫

  • thats gonna sound good with strat pickups?

  • @SuperDsffdsf As I understand it there's really no difference between Mustang and strat pickups

  • Lovely sound. Im really interested on this guitar.

  • it's lovely :D

  • what the name of the song you played on clean??

  • @SuperDsffdsf pretty sure thats, sex and candy-marcys playground

  • Hi:D

Any sugestions of good strings? :D thx!

  • Ooooh I do love Fenders!

  • Hello duys....tell me please the name of the second song on 3:16...is awesome but i didn't know the name(((((((((((

  • wow i really dig this guitar. tell if someone finds a lefhanded at affordble price (impossible) XD

  • im thinking of getting this for my second guitar, is it worth it? i play a lot of nirvana lol trying to be like kurt XD

  • Is it easy to get used to the fret distance?

  • @PBANDSNOW yes, very (me at least). What happens is that you get "lazy" after getting used with a shorter scale neck, playing 25.5" inches scales became harder to me. I never really bonded with the Mustang I had, so I sold it a few years ago (and went back to a 25.5").

  • iv`e got a original 1965 guitar and i played the reissue and it isn`t the same the original is better in the sound.....

  • I have no idea why people like fender mustangs, strats sound much better to my ears. Mustangs sound tinny, have major tuning problems, and are way over priced.

Best tone in this video is the bridge pickup with distortion.

  • @downsontheupside They are popular vintage guitars because they're cheap. 10 or less percent of vintage strat price.

  • @downsontheupside I have no idea why people like strats, Jaguars sound so much better to my ears. Strats are over rated, over used, and are unbelievably expensive.

The only time they sound good is in the hands of Hendrix or Cobain.

  • What kind of amp is used during this video?

  • yeesh, im assuming that you don't use your pinky on your fretboard? your fretting hand looks painful

  • is this guitar made in america? or mexico? japan? where?

  • @cells76 did you watch the beginning of the video? Japan, good sir.

  • is this guitar made in america?

  • It will be my first electric

  • I'm getting one in Dakota red

  • It sounds so wonderful with a bit of gain and out of phase

  • the mustang looked so sexy on kurt kobain

  • @iamjak3rs666 think it was a jaguar... -.-'

  • @GodHetfield rlly? ok my mistake :P

  • @iamjak3rs666 ^_^

  • If I had the money I would totally buy a mustang.

  • Дааа гитара супер - легенда!

  • 5:23 Hey, Did you seriously pickslided on the neck pickup for sure? Because teles and les pauls didn't sound good in picksliding the neck pickup.

  • hey, does this guitar go out of tune alot? because of the type of bridge? cheers =]

  • i got the same guitar from japan.. and let me tell you.. it rocks

  • thanks a lot Dave Grohl

  • @rockologo

He spent some time in England...

  • what song are you playing at the beginning tell me it's awesome

  • @Jcub90 sex and candy - marcy playground

    :)

  • I love that clean twangy sound, this guitar is a classic and i thank god they reissued it.

  • @rp94cobra sex and candy - marcy playground

    hope I helped

  • im after a jaguar to replace my les paul

  • whats the neck like on you jaguar is it nice n slim like the mustang

  • I love the sound of these guitars, it is right up my alley for jangly indiepop! One of the unsung Fender gems.

  • this guitar has the worst pickups on any guitar ive had but nothing like a pickup change

  • @wipers86 Really depends on what sound you're going for with the guitar.

  • how many guits do you have?

  • @Lamborghini652 Lots of people have used them for lots of different genres. John Frusciante used it for some RHCP[funk/rock] songs, Kurt Cobain used it[Grunge], John Fogerty used it[rock] It's a great guitar. I'm buying one soon :)

  • hey wat song does he sart playing at 3:18?

  • Interesting, I never noticed that was Sex and Candy.

  • bridge pup + high gain + "opening pandoras box" = heaven to my ears ;)

  • Mustangs; Very, very under-rated.

  • @Dugger1997 in cars horses and guitars how write you are :D

  • i'm in love with the clean sound!

  • what does out of phasing do for the sound?

  • dude whats the song 3:18

  • amp?

  • Sounds amazing bro! Keep playing!

  • its so hard to keep mustangs in tune but everytime i play one i jizz ma self ;)

  • you have great enthusiasm for the guitar, keep up the good work ! ignore the mean and dumb comments b/c they are not genuine ! rock on Bro. 1

  • great review. what was the first song you played? if you made it up it was really good

  • how much?

  • @orange349 If you buy them from Fender, I think they're about 1200US, but here in Aus, they are about 1500Aus from the few stores that sell them. Be sure to haggle wherever you go, because you'd be surprised by the discounts they give you. All you have to do is ask them.
