  • @GeorgianAzeri Almost everything comes from Africa. Get over it.

  • @Dasanmitchellboy Amen i mean man came from Africa as well

  • @GeorgianAzeri You're comment is laughable. I suppose that's why they're referred to as AFROasiatic languages. The greatest diversity of so-called semitic languages are in AFRICA. That strongly indicates origin. The oldest accounts of ANY semitic language were found in AFRICA - 9th c BC, HA! can't get much older than that. Nice try, buddy.

  • @083770 and where do you get this information? I heard that the Semitic languages come from Africa but are not sure where to find the right information!

  • @LeoBlight

    Here's one online source: indiana.edu/~arabic/arabic_history.htm

Author explains that Arabic is youngest of semitic languages. Linguists overwhelmingly believe it come from Africa, because that is where the greatest diversity of semitic languages are TO THIS DAY. Diversity is STRONGEST INDICATOR of origin. My language Tigrinya is older than Arabic. My great grandmother's language, Tigre, is older, still.

Search library databases, though sometimes journals are in german or italian.

i've never knew there was such thing as wolof.

why do i have to be jealous?you dont even know me

  • @sudanesgal i don't even wanna know you.watch what you write, you are making it seem as if your language is better than wolof when infact wolof is traced back to the ancient egyptians.

  • @jahguide010 you are truly trying to start something here .you most be out of your mind if you think im saying that my language is better than this wolof language .well my language might be better than this language .you have a problem with that just deal with and shut up .you probably dont even speak wolof and you are complaining

  • @sudanesgal ...From Indiana University Dissertation "Once, the Arabian Peninsula was thought to have been the "cradle" of proto-Semitic, but nowadays many scholars advocate the view that it originated somewhere in East Africa, probably in the area of Somalia/Ethiopia. Interestingly, both these areas are now dominated linguistically by the two youngest members of the Semitic language family: Arabic and Amharic, both of which emerged in the mid-fourth century C.E."

  • @sudanesgal whoa, whoa, whoa, you are WRONG. Most of the THOUSANDS of African languages dialects, you say? Dialects of WHAT?? Arabic? Arabic is an African language that comes form OTHER African languages. I'd really like to cuss you out right now, but that would be counter-productive. Instead I'll post a quote from an Indiana University Dissertation... continued:

  • @083770 so u wanna cuss me out coz u think im wrong ,well if im wrong why cant u just say so ,

now u got me paying attention to that one comment and not ur correction

  • @sudanesgal Look, that's how I felt upon reading your blatantly ignorant comment. What you choose to focus on is your business. It's more for anyone who might come across your commentary than it was for you.

  • @083770 whateva miss ignorant,

  • @jahguide010 This is one African that DOES know her history. Pleased to meet you!

  • @083770 please to meet you too! knowing your history makes you feel really good about yourself realising that you are from a line of great people.

  • @sudanesgal

Arabic came from East Africa via Yemen. I'd assume that Tigrigna and Ge'ez is older than Arabic is are the mother of Arabic language.

  • @jahguide010 how does that make me retarded?i just never knew the language existed.what am i jealous of?

  • my mom and brother speak it. i don't but understand it well enough. it's cool to know that people are actually studying it.

  • i can speak it

  • Wait, Ohio has Wolof? WTF!

  • hey how r u my name is aliou im from senegal n i live in da us we could be usefull each other cuz i speak wolof n u spek english

  • na ngeen def is plural. She was correct.

  • Belle initiative de sa part d'apprendre le wolof., qui lui ouvre les voies du Sénégal, où 80 % de la population le parle.

Enfin une touriste qui n'y ira pas avec une langue de colon...

  • ooohh that is sooo cool

  • it's all very interesting it s basically a commercial about you. The fact that you gonna study wolof for all the reasons you enumerated is supposed to help us in any way? cant see the purpose of that apart from showing off

  • @poglay

People create videos like this so that they can be placed by link on other websites. Not all YouTube videos are here just for you. I thought everyone knew/did that. Guess you dont.

  • peace my blonde sister!

  • I'm afraid I think Amaam got it wrong here. Her opening greetings she could have used and most Senegalese would identify with that. Granted her greetings is in Arabic but that is besides the point. Most Senegalese are muslims and this is how muslims greet each other in Islamic countries. I say well done to the sister and keep up the great work. As for Amaam, you need to understand the context

  • Its Nanga def not nangeen def ....and jesus didnt suck cock BRAH!

  • nanga def is for one person but na ngeen def is for several person ans she's correct!

  • Xonk-nopp yii, dafa sajjkat. Dumu begg liggey daara, wante Man, mes na liggey bes bu nekk. Xonk-nopp, dafa begg-togg rekk. Dafa am nopp bu Xonk ndakte Yalla dumu ko begg.

  • I am african. SUCK IT.

  • AS Salamu aliakum isn't Wolof. Its Arabic...every linguistic student should recognize such a common phrase. The writer should've come up with some other opening line for you.

  • They did. She said nangeen def.

  • I think everyone who is over 10 and has a television knows that as salaam alikum is arabic, she said that bc senegal is over 90 percent muslim and that is also an acceptable way of greeting. Dont be so quick to judge cuz you know how to greet in arabic

  • Bonjour!Comment ça va?

  • Yur awsom.

  • A little bitter are we? actually your probably right she wants to learn wolof so she can move there and infiltrate the upper teirs of the govt then stage a coup and make jesus the supreme ruler of senegal. I doubt she wants to help the continent in anyway

  • I'd really like to learn to speak wolof but it's impossible to understand just listening to people speaking and I've tried to ask some friends to teach me but they really can't explain to you anything, I think that they don't have structural logic of language maybe.. I would like you to tell me some title of book I can buy of grammar. can you? sorry for my english, kisses, Iolanda

  • Very good! It's a great thing to learn indigenous languages. I always say that more people should try learning African languages. Unfortunately when many people think of going to Africa they concentrate too much on English, French or Portuguese instead of the real African languages. The first time I heard Wolof was when watching a Sembene Ousmane film 'Xala'.

  • how is she doing something positive for Seneaglese by HER own language learning? People learn languages all the time. Did you do something for Americans and Europeans by studying English. Dafa dooy war, dañuy contaan lool ndaxte touba dafay jang Wolof? Du jiitu rééw, ndongo rekk la.

  • masha Allah....jazakallahu khairan sis....santi Allah its wonderful that you have taken your interests to this stage...I also have many Senegalese friends and can speak just a little bit....insha Allah i will get more fluent also....bless you

  • Very nice. ya fi meun

  • I just learned I have to move to the US, cause here in Germany there is not a single possibility to study such an "exotic" language... somehow it's understood, we do not have a big ammount of senegalese immgigrants here in Germany.

I use to say that, if you know a people's language, you can take a look inside a people's soul! In that sense, good luck for your studies and jerejef for the video!

  • sa video bii dafa jaar yoon, you can cantact me at 8598359364

  • thats great my father is from senegal my name is serigne fallou its great you are setting your mind to do something positive for our people thank you good luck
