  • This just came on Pandora, and I've never heard it before. For a few seconds, I thought it was Sting --then, I recognized Chris's voice:) I never noticed before, but he's got some Sting in his voice.

  • I think this time frame is when Cornell sounded best. He looks like a freaking ghost here though.

  • Amazing version, Alain puts his soul into it

  • that song is ... unbelievably good, honest and sad, my favourite song in the world.

  • I swear... the chick on the keys is a witch.

  • his voice is so amazing! i wish, i could have seen him live with soundgarden ... :(

  • Yeah! I knew it was something like that. Thanks for the clarification!

  • this song is an absolutely beautiful son that sums up the my feelings of the time and reminds me of how far i've come. and yes it sound very not unlike brain damage, and thats a good thing.

  • and I am back to 1996. so hard and so inspiring. this song has changed my life. si

  • Nice...this video is from 1999 thoug, but yeah this song is awesome....they never realeased it as a single...it wouldve been a hit

  • it should have been a single. its one of the most popular songs off down on the upside and by soundgarden in general. RIP Soundgarden and Grunge

  • I guess the keyboard girl is possesed or something is really wrong with her

  • She's died last year. Cancer.

  • hey motherfucker, she dies for the cancer. a little bit of respect!!

  • What's the date/venue info? Id like to look for a copy of this on DVD from trader sites or something...

    Thanks

  • heard this tune for years, but for some reason this reminds me massively of pink floyd. So so good.

  • my brother and i thought the exact same thing!! XD

  • I think it sounds like "Brain Damage"

  • perhaps they changed the key.....maybe it's the keyboards....or maybe it's just uses some of the same chords and picking patterns

  • The real tuning for the song is a full step down from standard tuning, but Johannes used standard tuning with the same chords as you would use for the full step down tuning. For example: The first chord of the song is a D9 (020132). He used E9 which is the same shape, but different notes. Same goes for the rest of the song/chords.

I hope I described that right. Haha.

  • And just to note, if you've heard their version of 'Like suicide,' it's really different as well. I believe they also played it in standard versus the odd tuning Soundgarden used for 'Like suicide' (I can't remember it right now, sorry).

  • Natasha Shneider, wasn't it? Played a lot with the Queens of the Stone Age too.

  • yeah...she actually died about a month ago from cancer. Too bad really...she was an excellent musician.

  • She was an excellent musician.

Her contribution to queens of the stone age live was phenomenal.

  • The woman from 0:59 to 1:10 is really scary!

  • tremendous! sans mots

  • guitar's sound, so amazing ...

  • well she does look kinda like frankensteins wife LOL !

  • ..."there must be something else, there must be something good, far away, far away from here"...

  • Huge-deep, and creepy. Entirely cool and original.

  • His keyboardist looks like Frankenstiens wife in this video.

One of my favorite Soundgarden songs.

  • The last masterpiece of soundgarden ;( Iwant soundgarden back....

  • @Audioslavetuga

i think your wish came true :)

  • @Audioslavetuga you got it brah

  • man.....thats the most saddest soundgarden song i think..cuz its like saying "the end"..fuhhhhhck

  • half dead chris , im very happy he is still living he's is the only remaning one from that grunge era

  • I AGREE ME !!!! HA

  • He looked like such a dark, misunderstood person back then. Good song though. 5 stars.

  • Hey those are the guys from Queens of the Stone Age playing in the background, formerly the band 11. I was at this concert. Love ya Chris, you are my favorite singer, artist, musician, performer and an inspiration.

  • Last song of Soundgarden...what a great yearning, but thanks a lot for posted it!

  • Soundgarden's "goodbye" song

  • One of Soungardens best songs Thx for posting it

  • This song is from another world.

  • a few more hours and im going to see him on stage...

  • man! its one of my favorite songs , this is the shit +

  • i was at this show, met him after (not the first time) lots of drinking, but he was in good spirits.

  • This song is magic. Love it, love it, love it! It just hurts to see Chris look that sad, or tired or what he was at that time. But his voice is amazing, all the time!

  • Sad, tired and completely off his head. The guy was doing drugs round the clock.

  • I find it funny that Chris Cornell's backing band became Queens of the Stone Age (aka Josh Homme's backing band)

  • QOTSA isn't Josh Homme's backing band.

It IS his band. He's the lead guitarist and vocalist.

AND the backing band is Eleven.

Man. . . were you off.

  • cooooool- thats kind of a frightening babe on keyboards don't you think??? Looks like they've all been smoking or snorting the same shite

  • Something is going on for sure!

  • Just The Beatles' "The end" is better than this song to say goodbye

  • Alice In Chains: Over Now

  • I love this song...

  • I hope he comes to Norway, and performes this!

This is the fucking best live performance on this tour!

  • i love this song, i have this down on the upside album but got stolen, i cant find it in any store anymore.damn its so good

  • whew chris is shit faced

  • that guitar player has a fat head.

  • It's a beautiful song, that, but the lyrics say it all about how he must have felt back then. "There must be something else, there must be something good far away from here". He looks so ill - how anyone can want to turn the clock back to then I can't understand.

  • natasha=tits

  • The woman on keyboard is Natasha Schnieder from the band "Eleven" who played alongside Cornell during his solo tour as well as on the album. The Guitarist is Alain Johannes... (sp?). But yeah- I highly reccomend them as well as Euphoria Morning.

  • What's up with the woman playing the keyboard? Why is she moving like that?!!

  • it almost looks as if his soul is dead, looks like a funeral

  • Where is this video from? This is my favourite Soundgarden song, but I've never seen this clip. And yeah, he does look a bit smacked out.

  • wow he doesn't look well in this video...

  • yes yes yes it s so good

  • wow thank you for this.
