  • What the fuck are you doing stealing other peoples videos delete this now.

  • She isnt talking to anyone. There is no towers. She is just talking to Siri and because there is some noise she holds the cellphone to her ear. Simple. >_>

  • If it is a early version of an hearing aid the hearing aids in 1920's are huge and at 3:31 you can see a white two squared object in her hand O_O my phone is also white and no one is around her when shes talking WTF????!!!!!!!

  • I don't see any physical device in her hand. I see just her holding her hand to her head in an excited self ranting type of manner. Sort of how people hold their hands over their mouth or around other parts of their head. Just a way of expressing themselves. Time travel can't exist because of the grandfather paradox.

  • Kinda looked like she ws scratching her head and talking to herself. I don't imagine that when we invent time travel devices, we will send a cross dressing lunatic to the past.

  • Circus?

    Pet bird or animal?

  • So, if you were a time traveler wouldn't talking on a cell phone blow your cover a bit? Also, wouldn't you need to bring a cell phone tower with you as well? Also, why doesn't anyone show any particular interest in this person's cavalier use of technology from the future?

  • Here's my answer...post this in the Search box:

    DavidRaySkinner 1928 Time Traveler

  • yea but who she talking to?

  • maybe the phone is linked with the present? did you ever think about that? look into project stargate!

  • you can clearly see that its a man with a object cuffed around his ear. if you look closely her face actually has a male face. but yeah thats deff a phone

  • if it were a cell phone, who would she be talking to in the past...being the only one with one. this is a bust

  • William Shockley,John Bardeen,Walter Houser Brattain of Bell Lab.Can you hear me now! in 1927.AM ,Amplitude modulation. In the mid-1870s, a form of amplitude modulation—initially called "undulatory currents"—was the first method to successfully produce quality audio over telephone lines. • A transistor radio is a small portable radio receiver using transistor-based circuitry. ... Bell Laboratories demonstrated the first transistor on December 23, 1947

  • That's is weird. Good catch. My thought? If that is a communications device? Then time travel may be involved? Or it may be a cross dresser that is talking to himself? :) Thumbs up to you.

  • @NWOrDREGS you can see a device in his hand

  • @Maximus3087 I'm not doubting the video or you. Just strange to see someone, at that moment in time, talking into something in their hand.

I could download this and sharpen it up. Then enlarge it. I'm not going to. Too many other strange things going on. I need to attend to. (Just click my username.) :)

Peace! And keep on showing the truth.

  • another thing theres no satellites for the fone to connect to

  • toothache. ice pack. pain. common slicker.

    Stop it.

  • OK - WHO is she talking to? There were no cell phone towers, even in LA, in the 1920's. It looks like an early hearing aid to me. Even if it was a time traveler, they would have no one else to talk to since there is NO CELL SYSTEM.

Nice try though. It does look weird at first.

  • Why do people think a communication device from the future would work anything like a present day cell phone ?

Nuclear powered and able to broadcast perfectly across space and/or time sounds more like something a time traveler would have.

  • If is a hearing aid who is she talking to..

  • @hoytzone Hearing aids help aid hearing, she might be adjusting it.

  • @hoytzone herself ;)

  • I'´m sorry for those that don't believe it but, she's trully holding something, it's clear it's one of those mobiles we open, close - longer, you can see the other part in the end of her hand -, she's truly talking to somebody, because from the start she's talking, smiling. I don't believe in time travel, all this BS, but I guess Chaplin made another good joke of his... he probably read the prophecies about the future and decided to let this image for us... LOL LOL what a genius!

  • @laurids2007 Its a Kind of a radio...

  • well after seeing that all i can think is this man/woman has fucked our timeline up, aka the butterfly affect, MABEY thats why we have such a high fucking tax rate, or wars that could of been provented.

  • she scrached her head

  • i can tell you! these guy is doing a JOKE, like talkin in his hand like a super detective from the future, he s on a FILMSET, dont forget that! some folkes was in a mute of Sci-Fi and the beginning High Tech, this Guy is JOKING!!! Hes talkin to his Hand in a kind of a futuristic vision, THATS IT! I would do also! because its FUN!

  • But this is 1928 -no sonotone until 1929 and that box is big-google it--Debunked

  • When you step back in time-are you really in the same clothes when you left?you might be put into the clothes of the time and not even know?

  • Oh my god!!! She is using iPhone 5 lol

  • In theory, time travel is considered a real possibility in science. The problem is as of 2010, we're not aware of anyone having created technology which would allow the opportunity to do this. However, let's say that someone in the year 2025 did develop the means and came back to today. This would mean that the present is actually the past, and the future is really the present. Which means, everything that you do as of this moment has already happened as you're simply catching up to that.

  • IPHONE 4 NEW GEN

  • @areljl01 The first radio receiver/transmitter to be nick-named "Walkie-Talkie" was the backpacked Motorola SCR-300, created by an engineering team in 1940 at the Galvin Manufacturing Company (fore-runner of Motorola)

  • search: iphone time traveler. proof iphone used in 1940's 8mm home movie.

  • dats bizare bt we eva wa eh is :D :D.

  • if this true then how the hell did she get service? haha

  • Its a Sonotone hearing aid, brand new in 1928, the latest gadget for the hard of hearing, it was marketed to wealthy old women and men. It looks like a mobile phone, but it isn't and as for why the woman was talking, she only began speaking just before she stopped walking and looked at the camera, it was quite obvious she was speaking to the cameraman/director in a "have I done it right?" way.

Heres an image of the Sonotone on google images.

  • @WiganParanormal Well if she was a mental case and was talking to someone

that was not near her on her hearing aid --then thats explains it all--remember

she could not even find shoes that fit her.but did you need to hold your hand with

knuckles bent it that fashion like we do now on a old hearing aid and talking in 1928

  • @WiganParanormal Sonotone was established and incorporated in 1929 by Hugo Leiber as an ...

Google it and the first looks like a box radio

  • @Jaydi25 Haha!!!I hear you!

  • as Stephen Hawking said, if people could time travel, they'd be here now....telling us they were from the future. I think this is just something which "looks" like someone using a phone but there could be many explanations.

  • @2blakandbold You aren't making any sense and completely off topic. Get your thoughts together and try again when you have something meaningful to contribute to this video.

  • @zer0dahero Seek Medical Attention for your Disorder!

  • @2blakandbold you mean my unfortutane ability to be a rational thinking human being and not one to fall for silly and illogical conjectures as you do? Perhaps it may be a handicap in crazy land but I don't live in your crazy land.

  • @zer0dahero such as a very fast spaceship, one person is able to experience several days while another person simultaneously experiences only a few hours or minutes. The same two people can meet up again, one having experienced days or even years while the other has only experienced minutes. The person in the spaceship only needs to travel near to the speed of light. The faster they travel, the slower their time will pass relative to someone planted firmly on the Earth

  • @hoytzone Thats the old grand father paradox (over 100 years old by now). Is there a point or a question in there somewhere.

  • Its solved.. Its a hearing aid !!! They had them back them and they look just like that.

  • @HOTGRID Aww damn seriously!?

  • two camels in a tiny car. that is my explanation for this video.

  • Siemens patent for a compact, pocket sized carbon microphone/amplifier device suitable for pocket instruments.

    carbon amplifier patented by Siemens

  • i meant to say y go to 1928?

  • if u can time travel how much longer?

  • What the heck is all the fuss about cell towers for? If you have the technology to time travel don't ya think they could come up with a communication device that can talk back to the future without cell towers?

Someone else tried to explain it as a woman scratching her head. I guess, that guy thought she was scratching and talking to her lice.

To me, she looks like a he. His shoes are as big or bigger than the man's shoes that is walking in front of her/him.

  • Has that one been digitally remastered? anything added or removed for effect? I wuld try to view the origional film to see it that is in there. It is also possible that the director may have just been kind of creative. Think of Jules Verne and how some of the ideas n his books were unthinkable at the time such as traveling to the moon, or circumnavigating the globe via air travel. Also, and to a lesser extent, think Ray Bradbury's book "Ferinheit 451";

  • ESTA ESCENA NO EXISTE EN LA PELICULA THE CIRCUS, ES UN INVENTO, Y SI COMPARAN ESTA ESCENA CON LA PELICULA VERDADERA SE VAN A DAR CUENTA DE L A DIFERENCIA EN LA TONALIDAD DE LOS GRISES. DENTRO DE TODO ES UNA BUENA IMITACION DE LOS FILMES DE ESA EPOCA.

  • she has big feet!

  • it's also possible that she is simply speaking to herself and trying to remember her cue...

or, you could go with the Mythbusters mentality...

"When you can't prove something happened, it must be a hoax."

  • TIME TRAVELLER FROM THE FUTURE!!

  • @mommyman1234 Hell yeah its a time traveler you dumbass mommas boy

  • hearing aid :|

  • 1) Who would she call?

    2) How would she find a signal before they invented the towers?

  • @Tamakath dude i think they wouldnt need towers no more after they discover time travel , theyd have a little thing in the phone , or a speical one jst for time travel that requires no tower

  • @Jor3372 with that technology they would have earplugs and a microphone embedded in their teeth, no need for a cell phone.

  • what a jackass

  • Comment removed

  • maybe it's posible and she is a time travel ,BUT how can she use that device in 1928 ?

i mean in 1928 no mobile or device like that so it's means there is no network for mobile ! so if she is time travel and she bring that phone from future it's ok but she cant use it in 1928 BECUASE NO NETROWK FOR MOBILE

  • @roham1233 dont they have house phones? (no sarcasm just asking)

  • @roham1233 what if, on her "present" (time where she traveled from) time, signals are so strong that it travels through time, which if true means there are tons of people who time travels, and if so, then this indicates that this old lady is pretty dumb cuz she just tampered with time paradox O.O

  • @MaxBlight remember if you are time tavelingv, the place yo left are still sending signals

  • "Damn Doc I told you the Delorean was out of Gas!"

  • Forget the woman! Can't anyone see that the guy walking ahead of her has a phaser in his pants pocket?

  • Stop dropping acid dude!

  • It's not a phone and in no frame can you see a "thin, black device". At the end of the clip you can clearly see the womans hands begin to clench and it looks more like she's scratching her head. There are dozens of possible reasons for this footage and the last conclusion I'd jump to is time travel. Blatant trolling.

  • 4:36 "It's not an AM/FM radio, because obviously, it's 1928"

Yeah, it has to be a phone

  • I think I have an actual explanation. The box set was remastered and released in september 2003 there were cell phones then. I believe that whoever remastered the movies threw that in to cause this exact reaction from people. Have you ever watched the reel to reel it was originally filmed and shown with. I will bet you won't see a woman on a cell phone in the original release of it.

  • Its Ray William Johnson's great grandmother just calling to say i love you...

  • If time travel was possible, someone in the future would come back to tell us. :)

  • I think this is not about time traveling. I think the film was taking around 1950. The film is too clear to be from 1928. And the man (lady) is talking on a walkie talkie. I think the studio added the footage to sale the video, and stated that the extra footage was a part of the 1928 circus, but actually was taken much later. The device that he/she is talking on seems larger from a particular angle and look like a walkie talkie from the 1950's.

  • she's saying shit there's a guy with an hd camcorder fiming me and u told me i was the first time traveller u lying twat.

  • We all know shes just listening to her Ipod .__.

  • @19martin99 joijoojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojojoj

  • myhood it still don't explian y she has a mobile fone. maybe this is faked, or its not a cell fone at all and novarberor u dick!

  • just holding her hand up

  • Maybe she was trying to receive direction from someone on her right and couldn't hear because of noise from the set on her left, thus she's covering that one ear.

I don't know, it is weird though.

  • its a 11G PDT4 IPHONE series (PDT4 means 4th generation of PARALLEL DIMENSIONAL TECHNOLOGY ) while 11G gives you access to internet and phone calls to future and the past via a high end micro universe chip, also you got a bonus feature called miniGOD that grands you 3 wishes even if one of them is for more wishes,

  • We need to stop saying she's a time travler because everytime we make a mention of it we''re altering events.

  • @England22015 it was a hand kerchief she was holding and talking to the person ahead of her and this u can clearly see when she stops she folds her fingers and it is clear that there is no machine or device in her hand ,it was just a hand kerchief or a coloured cloth. when the cameraman wishes her she wishes him back saying HI or Hello Loudly ,she is not talking in phone,.

this is the most accurate answer and its right.

  • It is not possible but, when you reach the technology that allows you to travel in the time, you will probably using some other tech rather than normal cell phone.

  • @huseyinkara028 unless time travel has been discovered!

  • ha ha ha ha ha a cebra seat mounted?? jajajajaja yeeeehaaa africaaa :)

  • So wait let me get this one straight... She time triveled... And walked in the shooting scene ? Ok... Now what atena or satelite would that be connected on. ? She has a phone but it needs a relay ? She went back in time and the sattelite also ? She placed antenas on rooftops ? Lool. And its not a man in black its a woman see the skirt and the stokings.

Remeber when the bluthooth came out... We where saying who is he / she talking too ? Is she crazy or what ? imagine in 1920.

  • So wait let me get this one straight... She time triveled... And walked in the shooting scene ?

  • she looks far to authenticly dressed to be from the future everthing looks about rigtht apart from the fact shes got her hand upto her face as if holding a phone, she is just covering her face for some reason

  • its a Waky Taky !

  • @Smisser991 it was a hand kerchief she was holding and talking to the person ahead of her and this u can clearly see when she stops she folds her fingers at the end of the video and it is clear that there is no machine or device in her hand ,it was just a hand kerchief or a coloured cloth. when the cameraman wishes her she wishes him back saying HI or Hello Loudly ,she is not talking in phone,.

this is the most accurate answer and its right.

  • She's screwing with her hat pin at the last second because her hat slips, and she knows she has screwed up the shot at this point and is kind of mumbling to herself as she turns to the director (perhaps likely Chaplain himself) sitting behind the camera who is saying 'Good job, ethyl, you sure fuckered up this scene...... cut cut cut CUT'

There is a reason the scene never made it to the movie, her fuck up was it.

    ---

I know because I went back in time to find out.

  • My mistake: Upon second viewing, I realise it is not an old lady, but simply a matron, someone who saw her best years take place in the 1910's. And I still don't see her smiling anywhere in this footage.

Not surprisingly: She's encased in a corset, yards of heavy wool, and bothered by a pesky earring and intrusive cameramen!

  • An old lady, heavyset, not butch, nor a man in drag (unnecessarily unkind to fancy that), walks past a camera in 1928, holding in one hand a large purse and/or packages, and in the other her black gloves... And with that somewhat free hand, she starts to screw one of her screwable earrings, typical of the era, without much success; which likely makes her speak out mild imprecations... And you all think she's gabbing on a mobile? Really?

  • A cell phone will not work without cell phone towers, or a satellite to transmit signals. It would be equivilant to you taking your cell phone in the middle of know where and expecting that you would be able to make a call...

  • There were no cell towers in 1928. lol

  • it was shot after the movie

  • @lofasztaseggedbe it was a hand kerchief she was holding and talking to the person ahead of her and this u can clearly see when she stops she folds her fingers at the end of the video and it is clear that there is no machine or device in her hand ,it was just a hand kerchief or a coloured cloth. when the cameraman wishes her she wishes him back saying HI or Hello Loudly ,she is not talking in phone,.

this is the most accurate answer and its right.

  • EPIC FAIL

  • she could of been mentally ill and she could of been talking to summet like a hankie or maybe she was just fieling her ear because its quite lumpy at the back of it,

for all we know that back thing could of been a shadow.

  • first of all: its interesting to think about what the explanation for it could be,but apart from the fact that time travelling is not possible physically the biggest problem about a lady using her cellphone in 1928 is another thing:

how can she use it without any satellites in the sky transferring her call to another cellphone? in 1928 there oft course were no MOBILE PHONE NETWORKS at all.

  • Comment removed

  • i think you have to much free time!!! yes it does look like a mobile phone but seriously dude next you`ll be telling me there`s a dalek in the end credits????

  • @jipbhoy it was a hand kerchief she was holding and talking to the person ahead of her and this u can clearly see when she stops she folds her fingers at the end of the video and it is clear that there is no machine or device in her hand ,it was just a hand kerchief or a coloured cloth. when the cameraman wishes her she wishes him back saying HI or Hello Loudly ,she is not talking in phone,.

this is the most accurate answer and its right.

  • George Clarke is slightly deluded here. The woman/man in the frame is obviously fiddling with a hair pin or something as two of the fingers go under the hat. Obviously, George Clarke can't see very well but he's seeing things that aren't there.

  • @anddyx it was a hand kerchief she was holding and talking to the person ahead of her and this u can clearly see when she stops she folds her fingers at the end of the video and it is clear that there is no machine or device in her hand ,it was just a hand kerchief or a coloured cloth. when the cameraman wishes her she wishes him back saying HI or Hello Loudly ,she is not talking in phone,.

this is the most accurate answer and its right.

  • @veeru0709 And how do you know it's right. are you an expert in 1920s filmography all of a sudden. Fact: it was no handkerchief. You wouldn't use a handkerchief by putting two fingers under hat - and that's the most accurate and it's right.

  • i find no explantion eighter, but i wonder weather a cell phone would have worked back in those days, i guess there was only analog phone-net available

  • 1924.

Siemens patent for a compact, pocket sized carbon microphone/amplifier device suitable for pocket instruments. you put this device to your ear but the whole device is in your pocket or in your jacket. check out siemens site about 1924's milestones.

  • @lofasztaseggedbe maybe its not a phone i dont know. but its 100% that this woman was crazy:D

  • i think its an extra added on re edited ,ive been an extra and done silly things like that, in dr who walk behind a rock with a hat on and appere again with another hat, to see if it getsnoticed.

  • @hoytzone just so you know, the woman is there because the charlie chaplin videos was NOT taken in 1928.You cannot time travel, it's fantasy. And the claim that charlie chaplin videos were taken in 1928, is laughable because it's a movie, not a documentary video, so it could have been filmed later than 1930.

  • @myhood25 rent the vid and see for yourself i know they did that back then

  • @myhood25 "The circus" premiered in 1928. The footage is not from the actual film and is probably news footage of the premier.

  • It could be recorder or a recorder on the cell phone when she/he havd travel back in the time and havd make a commentry then she/he maybe drop it and it broke.
