His solo work, as well as his work in Genesis, signifies some of the most diverse music ever created. From lyrics to bass lines to drum parts..... absolutely phenomenal.

  • The 80's was when musicians didn't have to be perfect looking like they feel they have to today. It didn't matter, as long as they had true talent. You dont hear any real singing anymore.

  • Sad that Phil retired... There won't be any musician who could replace him...

Please, come back! I don't care with Genesi or without. I want more!

  • @messvideos1 So true. Musical innovators are seemingly dying off one by one. However, I have heard that music is seemingly whipping its way back around to what it used to be. Perhaps slowly, but hopefully surely....

  • gran pezzo..di alto spessore...e con i controcanti di sting e peter gabriel sul ritornello

  • Phil Collins is one of the greats! No doubt about it! A very talented man here! :-) HIs music takes me back to so many great memories of the best times of my life. It takes me back to days of hanging with my friends at the park or skating rink and feeling so carefree and alive. The 80's was a time to really feel alive. Those of you who have lived it know what I am saying here. I sooo need a time machine to " take me home". I just want to go home. I sure love the 80's! I miss it like crazy! :-(

  • @thecarebearhideaway I know what you mean - you sum it up well. The 80's was such a free & exciting decade of great music. I remember watching this & wanting to visit all the places he visited. Luckily ive been to a few since. Bring back the 80's.

  • @Jolyonp I know what you mean too! :-) I always enjoyed this video. I love the creativity of it and seeing all the places made me want to travel so badly but never had the chance unfortunately. You never know, maybe someday I will get to. But you can always expect creativity when it comes to Phil Collins. :-D Yes friend, BRING BACK THE 80'S! :-P

  • cool song this is my favorite song .it gives me hope....

  • MBAALAX drum from Senegal

  • Awesome!!!!..When I saw him right across the World Trade Center, New York.

  • i used to see music videos on a half hour program here in canada, called Video Hits (later Dan Gallagher's Video Hits)...i'd see videos like this but often the intros/acting was cut off the beginnings...from what i understand, the show used to tape with very few edits, including the host actually sitting thru the videos in real time like the viewer...that doesn't happen now, i'm sure...you tape your spots and you leave someone else to insert them wherever needed in the show...

  • 808 life on forever

  • it's like a blue cheese

  • I remember when this song came out...I was in 8th grade. I didn't have cable, so I didn't have access to MTV or even VH1. This is my FIRST time seeing the video in its entirety...26 years later!

  • @LadyJCello39 I was in the same boat where my parents never invested in cable either when I was in high school. This too is a whole new world for me having seen many music videos that I never saw in their entirety or never saw at all. As a result, I've been downloading music videos from the 80s mostly, using Real Player and playback when I'm doing my graphic design work on the computer. It's like having my own custom radio station. I have over 1,700+ music videos now and it's been a great treat!

  • @LadyJCello39 My grandparents and one of my aunts had cable when I was growing up. I remember when I first saw this video on MTV. (I also remember watching the first day MTV ever aired. I thought the "Man on the Moon" logo was awesome). I've always loved this song. Wish I could've seen Phil live before he had to stop drumming..

  • Oh my god, he's a hilarious lip-syncer.

  • I'm doing this song for a school showcase :) I love it.

  • Espectacular...very special, thanks you Phill.

  • I wish I would have been born faster, so I could have known who Phil Collins was sooner. Oh well, at least I grow up with his songs in Tarzan and Brother Bear.

  • If I had a biography movie, this would so be in it with the credits of the pictures of my life.

  • You've been down at the pub haven't you? Lol.

  • @JBshotJL Ha ha ha...a cheesy 6 minute 80s video with a final line that makes it all worth it. ;)

  • @JBshotJL I don't remember

  • Freshman year of high school. Good times!

  • Am I the only one who thinks it seems like Phil Collins just used this video as an excuse to get someone to pay for trips around the world? :)

  • @olivemike81 We shot this over six months while making a documentary about his No Jacket Required Tour. We had the idea because no one could afford to do a video like this unless they were already going there. So no one "paid" for his trip other than himself.

  • Phil, we are about the same age and I have been listening to you now for 4 decades. You are still going strong even with life's little bumps in the road. Bravo, don't stop now. I look forward to more great works by one of the great talents of our age.

  • Guys! You will never get away from the wife nagging so be forewarned before you get married. You are screwed once you tie the knot. The only good thing is having children. Of course I had a bad wife, I hope there are still some decent women out there.
