Phil is one of the most talented musical geniuses of our time.
His solo work, as well as his work in Genesis, signifies some of the most diverse music ever created. From lyrics to bass lines to drum parts..... absolutely phenomenal.
The 80's was when musicians didn't have to be perfect looking like they feel they have to today. It didn't matter, as long as they had true talent. You dont hear any real singing anymore.
@messvideos1 So true. Musical innovators are seemingly dying off one by one. However, I have heard that music is seemingly whipping its way back around to what it used to be. Perhaps slowly, but hopefully surely....
@Grapedrankstank...I agree, it is sad, I never been to NY but it feels like the towers belonged to the world and yes indeed they were like a symbol of our times...no doubt Phil Collins probes that. one of my favorites songs back in the 80's
30 ppl need someone to take them home... or some other site. I hear ya LadyJCello39. I was basically the same. Used to jam the remix of this in my mama's plymouth duster when delivering pizzas at 16 yrs old. "and then one day you find, ten yrs have got behind you. No one told me when to run... I missed the starting gun... Peace and love to you.
Hmm always saw the vid as him sat in a hotel room in the dark with all the madness of the world on his side of the door the other just a car park in the rain !
I recently learned that this song is about a patient in a mental institution and a reference to the book One Flew Over the Cuccoo's Nest, which just makes the lyrics even more intriguing. Awesome work.
Phil Collins is one of the greats! No doubt about it! A very talented man here! :-) HIs music takes me back to so many great memories of the best times of my life. It takes me back to days of hanging with my friends at the park or skating rink and feeling so carefree and alive. The 80's was a time to really feel alive. Those of you who have lived it know what I am saying here. I sooo need a time machine to " take me home". I just want to go home. I sure love the 80's! I miss it like crazy! :-(
@thecarebearhideaway I know what you mean - you sum it up well. The 80's was such a free & exciting decade of great music. I remember watching this & wanting to visit all the places he visited. Luckily ive been to a few since. Bring back the 80's.
@Jolyonp I know what you mean too! :-) I always enjoyed this video. I love the creativity of it and seeing all the places made me want to travel so badly but never had the chance unfortunately. You never know, maybe someday I will get to. But you can always expect creativity when it comes to Phil Collins. :-D Yes friend, BRING BACK THE 80'S! :-P

@LadyJCello39 I was in the same boat where my parents never invested in cable either when I was in high school. This too is a whole new world for me having seen many music videos that I never saw in their entirety or never saw at all. As a result, I've been downloading music videos from the 80s mostly, using Real Player and playback when I'm doing my graphic design work on the computer. It's like having my own custom radio station. I have over 1,700+ music videos now and it's been a great treat!
@LadyJCello39 My grandparents and one of my aunts had cable when I was growing up. I remember when I first saw this video on MTV. (I also remember watching the first day MTV ever aired. I thought the "Man on the Moon" logo was awesome). I've always loved this song. Wish I could've seen Phil live before he had to stop drumming..

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very tiny sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
