Do you know if VSWR meters work with half wat PMR sets I am looking at buying a AVAIR AV-400 VSWR/ POWER METER but all I know is it has a 5W, 20, 200 & 400W range.

@0ddba1l should do, but if they are the "legal" pmr radios where they dont have a detachable antenna, you may need to solder on an SO239 socket

@pepsiholic2008 Yes all done I have made a few PMR hand set conversions with SO239 sockets.

People do say not to use RG58 for stuff above 60mhz due to loss but I am only using about 14" of the stuff.
@0ddba1l ah nice one. I use RG58 on mine. Got 3M on there. Tried the RG8X coax and the RG213 coax and saw no noticable difference.
@pepsiholic2008 Thanks for that so any problem I may have is just down to antenna tuning not coax.
@0ddba1l check your coax anyway. Might be a break or something. use a standard multi meter to see what's what.
