Because their government(putin is leader) made them to. Russians doesn`t have human rights because they were made slaves. Anyone who disagrees with government are eliminated(journalist for example). Russia is going the same way as Soviet union went, but still they do not learn past lessions. Countries which were occupied after ww2 fought their ways to freedom because they deserved it, that was the start of this policy fall.

Russia could have been one of most powerful countries in the world long time ago, but thanks to your government you failed because of your international policy. I haven`t been in Russia, but as I hear from some people(who have been in Russia), they say situation is pretty bad. Russia`s government completely controls media, which is main tool to control people mind. If talking truth and then get assasinated by your own government you call human rights than I really don`t understand russians.

Bad or not situation, but it in 10 times better that was 10 years ago. Ask any Russian, what he likes more 90s or 2000s. Answer will be 2000s.
Russia's government controls only main federal channels. Visit any other country and see that the governments of these countries do the same (like USA for example). TV constantly talk about our problems and ways of their solutions.
