  • nice fly, excuse my stupid question, how do you fish it ? like a dry or wet one ? i guess like a dry one but i wanna be sure. i`m lacking materials and i`m using other stuff to get the flotability properties. thanks again and keep up the good work!!! very very nice flyes.

  • Hi w33dp0w3r,

This fly can be fished as a dry, emerger or even a wet just below the surface it will give the impression of a few flies this pattern works really well for both rainbows and brown trout...I'm glad that you like the flies..

    All the best Davie

  • Hello Davie,

Another lovely wee fly! I really like the half hog hoppers, caught many a rainbows on them. I like the way your tying them more than mine, going to change my method.

The multi-colours is a nice touch.

Thanks for doing the video, now back to work for me.

  • First Time in HD looks nice

  • hola,, usted podria explicar ¿como se hacen las patitas ?, muchas gracias y disculpe mi ingles .

    Gracias

hello, you could explain how the legs are?, thank you very much and sorry for my English

  • Hi pabloberninzoni,

The pheasant tail legs I bought from the Glasgow Angling Centre and they are pre-knotted so I don't have to tye them, not that I can't but they make life much easier..

    All the best Davie

  • @pabloberninzoni you can find on youtube how to do it. They use a latch hook tool which was designed for latch hooking rugs.

  • @pabloberninzoni

the easiest way to make the legs is by pinching the tips of the pheasant tail with your hackle pliers, w/out the hackle pliers i find it very hard to make the knots on them with my naked fingers.. that way you can make as many knots as you like. i like to get as close as possible to the tips in order for them to match with size 14-18s. I'll try to post my video up soon and share my idea; at least the way i do mine.

  • Very nice fly (like as your habit)

how do you make the leg?

I try to make knot on this small fiber and i can't realise with success.... grrrrrr !

Many thank's to explain your technique with us

    Pierre
