We recently had to cut our spending at home and the first thing I planned for was how and when I could get books. I'm so glad you got the opportunity to study abroad. Welcome home :)
You look so sophisticated! Love it! Boys w/ tattoos are my kryptonite. I would have asked if I could see more. :) I have stacks that I need to read myself, and hopefully I can get to them soon! Glad you had fun! I look forward to your future videos.
My family aren't giving gifts this year because my parents are saving up for a house and I'm saving up to go backpacking around Europe but last year I got my grandparents this really nice wine decanter and I didn't get to see them last year so I'm using it as this years gift. Also any cheap but good places to eat that you discovered during your semester? I've heard that England is extremely expensive.
All right, so for the awesome gift-giving (at least, I hope it was awesome), I gave all of my friends hats. But not just any hats - these were animal-themed Nordic hats. I wear them a lot and I always get compliments for them. So, I gave some hats that would relate with each friend. Highlights were giving my best friend a panda hat (I had asked her earlier what her favorite animal was - she was suspicious) and another friend a rooster/pheonix hat (we decided it was too cool to be a rooster).
I was going to have intelligent comments but mostly just (1) I like this hair length and (2) heh, you said “put out.”
Also here are some vague mumblings about secularist smugness and Hitchens and occasional rhetorical repugnance. Harrumph. I am a crotchety old man sometimes.
@slavicpolymath Thanks, bb! I admire Hitchens in lots of ways, and respect and idolize him in some, but lots of aspects of his life and career make me mumble, too.
This is a nice recap of time I've missed with you too.
Perfect present, a friend of mine was obsessed with Ally McBeal, the tv show that had been off the air for years. I trolled ebay and found an Ally McBeal crew member jacket for sale, this is jackets only crew members who worked on the show got. I bought it, wrapped it up and gave it to him.
Hearing how upset some people get over Christopher Hitchens' death really makes me scared for the day when Stephen Fry dies. That is not going to be a happy day for me. But I'm holding out hope that an immortality pill will be created long before then. :)
My friend was saying the other day that Super Noodles weren't so super 'cause they didn't have capes. So for Christmas, I bought her a pack of Super Noodles and made a cape for them. xD
i was so sad when Christopher Hitchens died i had wrote to him a few times before and the only way i felt was appropriate way of morning his death was with a glass of whisky and a cigar
I always go OTT with gifts :D It's a guilty pleasure if I'm honest! For example, I have two friends who are married, and they wanted Wall-e on DVD. I brought the DVD, which didn't seem enough for two of them, so I also went and brought two miniature hot water bottles, sweet and salted popcorn kernals, and bags of sweets so that they could enjoy a cinema-style film night in together. I absolutely LOVE gift giving!
This year my cousin decided we had to have themed gifts. One had to be funny, one had to be practical, and one had to be handmade. So I ended up getting all three in one gift, sorta. I found a make-it-yourself leather journal. It's perfect because she is traveling the world next year and it's small enough that she can carry it and jot thoughts and doodles down in. I am so excited. I had no idea what I was going to get her before I found that. It's perfect.
I'm so excited for Doctor Who and Sherlock, too! I watched Sherlock for the first time this week, SO glad I did! Also, all your videos are awesome, no matter the topic!
@shessomickey Ooohh awesome! I'm not fully vegan yet but I watch my food choices and I am transforming my diet to be more and more vegan. For example, today was all vegan!
Gawrsh, I adore you. ACTUALLY, I'm terrible at getting perfect gifts. Like, really terrible. I really like your hair, woman! Long looks lovely. Again, welcome home. :]
I think my brain has been permanently altered by Gambino. Any and every buzz word sets off clips or lyrics from his songs. I'm not too worried about that though. His music is amazing after all :D
YES. You watch Sherlock. YES. All you should talk about next video is Sherlock. Obviously. Yay. Sherlock!

Have you seen Kim Jong-Il/Jong-un looking at things? It's not the same with Jong-un - he's just too expressive.
