Mary Jane has to be saved 24/7, the villains were terrible, and the actors overall were just awful. Even as an easily impressed kid when I first saw the movies I was wondering what the hell I was watching. It just wasn't as good as it could have been.

how doctor doom should have been:

-origins different from the other four, he's not in the spaceship with them

-powers of mystic nature, obtained with "dark science" or something esotheric like that (not the electric powers)

-seen as a dictator in latveria (in the movie you rarely realize latveria is a country)

-not a businessman, the story is too much like osborn's (he's fired from his own company and he gets revenge)

-he does not simply want the F4 dead, he's reed nemesis

-Doom getting powers with the F4 makes it more personal.

-Being a dictator in a country nobody knows is a country doesn't change what you think of him.

I have seen a few superhero movies I've enjoyed, including but not limited to the Dark Knight, Spiderman, Spiderman 2, and Watchmen. I think that if a superhero movie is good, it can appeal to an audience broader than fans of superhero movies or of the source material. This movie, in my opinion, had overly cheesy humor and lackluster special effects.
