How is saying America is not what it could be right now saying something bad about the country. He is saying the country can be better and that iswhy we have people run for president to make the country better.

In response to a question by a 7 year-old girl, Obama says he is running

for president because... [in his words] "America is no longer what it

could be... what it once was."

So he answers by trashing his own country.

Aside from the fact that his response is nonsensical, What impact do you

suppose this has on an impressionable 7 year-old?

Wow. It's astounding the degree to which people are scrounging around to find something wrong with Barack Obama. He wants to make the country better. He thinks you can save a lot of gas by keeping your tires inflated. He thinks it's a good idea that parents have their children learn a second language. How outrageous! You can't vote for him! Forget that John McCain supported the unwarranted invasion of a sovereign country and the torture and illegal detention of probably innocent young men.
