  • Being a Charizard lover and having one as a special tank on my team made me cringe when you tried attacking Kyogre.

  • HO OH AND ARCEUS GOOOOOO ZEO ZEO ZEEEEEEEOOOOOOO

  • Groudon with Special moves? Eh.It's a much-better Physical Attacker. It can easily run the EdgeQuake combo for at least neutral coverage.

  • This is the reason Ho-oh didn't fight Arceus: it'd be over too quickly.

  • Ho-Oh my God...

  • Any Rock type attack and Ho-oh it's done! Lucky that Groudon didn't had Stone Edge or Rock Slide! =)

  • lol below

  • omg either the dude was weak or u got a very high defense

  • Ho-oh's base 154 special defense is pretty tough to break with EV investment and calm mind boosts. All of the opponent's moves were special attacks, so they were pretty much useless against Ho-oh with all those calm minds

  • HO OH IS THE BEST THANKS SONIC

  • Looks like chuck Norris got a pet parrot...

  • Haha, a Palkia without a water-type move. That made my day. XD

  • @Souljaboy3232gtalife It wouldn't have made a difference, anyway. With the sunlight and calm minds. c:

  • @OverloadedToaster I have aqua tail on my palkia. :] Which probably would've been like a 2HKO on ho-oh. And if that palkia had stone edge, then it would've nommed ho-oh's face off. xD It's just too bad that was a special-attacking palkia...

  • @Souljaboy3232gtalife Aqua tail in the sun does pitiful damage. In ubers I've used Ho-oh in the sun to WALL palkia, so I can get multiple flame charge boosts/tailwind and strike with Brave Bird. He's still lucky that groudon didn't have a rock move though.

  • @aeriescannonfodder Yeah, now that I think about it, it definitely wouldn't have been a 2HKO in sun. But still, the opponent had a MAJOR disadvantage. She didn't have any physical attackers to deal with ho-oh and sun was up so ho-oh had access to a 1-turn solarbeam and a boosted flamethrower...

Btw, are most of the palkias you face in ubers special-attacking like the one in this video? Because a palkia with bulk up and aqua tail would be awesome. :D Esp. in rain.

  • Aaawwwwssssooommmmee!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL The game called Ho-Oh Ho-Ho XD

  • charizard...

  • Who uses ice beam on HO-OH? Lmao, that was a pathetic attack choice..

  • @sauske295fan Its a neutral attack, what´s the problem lol

  • I had a Regice special wall with Amnesia and Rest. I only had to use Amnesia 3 times and Regice's special defense would be around 1300. Special walls are so effective.

  • nice moveset on groudon, very original

  • Yu know, I like Lugia all out, but I'm slowly growing more respect for Ho-oh. >.>

  • Course this Ho-Oh, like all Ho-Oh and fore/flying types, has some major weaknesses. 1 stone edge, and its down. 2 hits from stealth rock, and its down. rapid spin is definately nice when using pokemon with big rock weakness

  • @ClefairyRox Actually, it takes three hits from Stealth Rock to take Ho-Oh down, if you have skill EV training. In PBR battles Stealth Rock seems to be a non-factor: nobody uses it. Plus if it Roosts it can tank Stone Edges like a damn beast. That can buy you a ton of time in doubles.

  • @polygonporygon Mmmm. If the foe moves before Ho-Oh Roosts the big bird will still get taken down, but I get what you're saying.

  • Wow. o_o This is almost better then Shuckle it looks like.

  • I really think a Groudon with special attacks is not wise. I would have learnt it Sword Dance instead of Solar beam.

  • the announcer is pissing me off

  • that ho oh reminds me of my suicune x.x Calm mind, Substitute, Ice Beam, Surf + leftovers gotta love walls :D

  • man, there was nothing the other guy could do. i forgot that ho-oh has one of the highest special defenses in the game xD

  • LOL At SolarBeam and ThunderBolt on Groundon xD

  • that is fucking bomb :D Awesome Ho-Oh!

  • just a suggestion, but i think that swords dance for groudon could make it become a awesome sweeper because you have fire punch and thunder punch along with e quake which makes a good combo.

  • @BlueJayfan84 Yes, Throw in a speed boost somehow and he becomes unstoppable.

  • Lol still, nice Ho-Oh. It is actually unique considering it's base stats.

  • Did your opponents groudon have earthquake too? if so it is exactly the same as mine O_O which is weird XDD

  • Why ne SP.Atk Groudon?

  • Wow, Ho-oh just completely ruled the match

  • Uroppenet had terrible move sets

  • lol at the special attacking groudon

  • Walling ho-oh ftw?:)

  • Seeing this game played, it seems that this may be the ONLY reason I would consider buying a Wii. o_o

  • lol wtf why does their groudon know thunderbolt

  • I hate almost every legendary, but this bird its one of my favourites.

  • The best nature for ho-oh is a lonley nature lonley makes its attack grow higher but makes its defence grow less

  • @1stpltpkmnTR nah for me the best Nature for Hooh is Adamant nature. Because Adamant will rise Attack and Sp Defense. Since Sacred Fire is physical, it will do serious damage. And Most pokemon players have pokemon that do Sp Attacks. So An Adamant HoOh could actually beat a lugia because it can handle Lugia's water moves(which are Sp Atck) and Hooh could burn Lugia with Sacred Fire.

  • @kennyJRT A adamant nature ups attack and lowers sp. attk it dosent up sp. def And for lugia the best nature is rash ups Sp. Attk lowers Sp. def is helpful because its Sp. def is very high.

For help with pokemon natures type in on google pokemon games natures guide they realy help.

  • @1stpltpkmnTR I knew it ups one of them lol. But I know for Adamant the sp def is very high for it's level/nature, and since attk is uped it makes it perfect for ho-oh.

  • @kennyJRT You understand that Adamant nature also lowers Sp. Atk, correct?

  • @1stpltpkmnTR I would go with a calm nature since lugia has Aeroblast (Special Attack) and you get to boost its already impressive Sp. Def. Or go bold nature and raise it's above average Defense

  • @Dalguy94 u know those natures weakan attack and Lugia can learn Dragon Rush Sky Attack Punnishment Natural Gift and tm moves like Giga Impact

  • @kennyJRT Like I said natures raise 1 stat, not two, and lower one stat.

  • @Dalguy94 Then I must have a very Retarded Ho-Oh LOL

  • i don't like the ho-oh 3D desing, isn't too epicfor a pokemon of that kind :s

  • why u have 4 fire pokemon, nobody knows...but OWNAGEEE :D

  • Why didn't he use water type moves? Is it about the sun?

  • @jonathanlee0828 yep, sun weakens water power.

  • Great battle.

    Both did great!!

  • no uvieras usado a ho oh

  • Ho-Ownage!

  • @GamerAntman twss

  • wow you're lucky your opponent was an idiot. groudon didn't even have rock slide/stone edge and lol eruption.

  • Comment removed

  • I think that ho-oh has cca. all stats atmaximum at sp. defense.

  • Awesome Ho-Oh! I'm a little confused as to WHY you didn't use Sacred Fire, however. A 50% burn rate would be very helpful, especially for defensive types. PP issues?

  • This ho-oh is a special attacker. Sacred fire is a physical attack, so it doesnt benefit from Calm Mind

  • ...*facepalm* duh. I feel so stupid for forgetting that..

  • Never got why Sacred Fire was a physical attack......

  • well he could just set itself on fire and smash into it opponent

  • That's not what Sacred Fire is though, it's a Rose colored flame that Ho-Oh releases from it's beak

  • So why you use a Special Ho oh? Her atack its much better

  • @CHUCK199626 IDK! And its genderless.

  • @XSonictheH

i'm very surprised of discover that sacred fire was physical. i always thought that was special!

  • im getting heart gold because lugia is overated and ho oh is awsome it also has gliscor GOOOOOOOO GLISCOR but it has kyogre and arcanine waaa i wanted a groundon 5 stars

  • Ho-oh is win.

  • You are forgetting that Solarbeam gets no STAB and Groudon doesnt have the greatest special attack, whilst Kyogre had pretty good special defense. So Kyogre can survive a solarbeam or two

  • not to mention the fact that groudon has crappy sp.attack while kyogre as good sp.defense.

  • sonic also sad that ;D

  • ths match was probably set up bc who has a special groudon, really? and stay in for that matter against ho-oh with a palkia still left

  • Love yah Ho-Oh!

  • sonic how did you get ho oh? ar or trade? or something

  • He either got it from Pokemon colleseum or

    He caught it from Firered/leafgreen/emerald

    with the mystic ticket

  • ahh thanks

  • wow that was an amazing move-set for Ho-oh! i should start using shit like this instead of relying on ubers.. not that I do but I really don't battle like half the world does.. maybe i should :)

  • that made no sense, if there legendary, there usually ubers, making h0 0h a uber...

  • Say that about Entei and Shaymin!

  • say what?

  • My point is, there are many legendaries that are not uber. They aren't even close.

(Entei and Moltres being the worst repeat offenders.)

  • and Articuno and Jirachi.

  • @polygonporygon While that's true, any pokemon can be used effectively if u put some thought and creativity into using it

  • @polygonporygon

I need to disagree with that. They're pretty good if you know how to use them.

  • kyogre vs groudon a well agood match

  • i have a ho-oh (strictly for uber battles!), and he has 344 special def, no boosting nature or ev's. it's crazy :O

  • You are incredibly lucky. The max ho-oh can have in sp def with no ev's is 344.

  • Kyogre with Lum berry =o Thats not often seen xD

  • Kakkadragon (A Youtube user) has a Kryogre with a Lum berry.

  • It's more common on lead Kyogre, which his was.

  • Wow, that Ho-Oh shrugged off a Thunderbolt like nothing.

  • what a retard, the guy has a palkia which is dragon/water. He could have used a move that is not special rend recommended a water move, even though he calm minded the water move should have a little more damage then the rend did.

  • He was probably trying to get a critical hit with spacial rend.

  • I'm more impressed by that Palkia.

4 Calm Minds! 120 base power! How on earth did it survive!

  • late reply but palkia has like 120 base sp. defense which is really beast!

  • Great Ho-Oh, but why flamethrower instead of sacred fire?

  • Sacred Fire's Physical. Flamethrower's Special. Think about it.

  • wow i didnt know that sacred fire was physical, quite odd isn't it?

  • Yeah, when I saw that on Bulbapedia, I was like "What the Furret?"

  • LOL what the furret!

  • Also the fact that Sacred Fire doesn't have as much PP if you max it out. :3

  • That doesn't matter much on 3-on-3s.

  • but ho oh's physical attack is higher than special, which i would put sacred fire to it.

  • yes, but calm mind raises ho-oh's special attack, so flamethrower will be more powerful after calm mind

  • True. But most likely XSonictheH wanted a Ho-Oh with a nature and IV that leaned towards Special Attack and Defense. I had a Raichu who's attack and nearly double than its special attack. O_O;

... its weird. Luckly, I just replace Thunderbolt with Thunderpunch and gave it a nice brickbreak for those mean Onix. :D

  • your team is almost sunny's!

  • or mabye shiny tropius:P

  • Loving the Ho-oh. Is that the one we were talking about? I presume it came from Pokemon colloseum as it's in a pokeball.

  • Ho-oh was also released as part of the several 10th Anniversary events, which were also in Pokéballs.

  • wow cool ho-oh its good to seee a special one !

  • nice ho-oh! i'm also training a special-based one. but mine has t-bolt and hidden power (water) instead of s-beam and roost

  • I strongly reccomend roost or recover since it really helps Ho-oh with its survivability

  • Ho-oh is a beast in this battle! :O Taking all those attacks like nothing. :l

Nice battle and keep up you works! :)

  • nice old school ho-oh.

  • How you got that HO-OH ?

  • nice battle i like how u used ur ho-oh

  • Very cool Ho-oh. A Special one is excellent. Good job.

  • I can see Ho-oh being a Special wall,

I mean base154 Special defense and a instant recovery would make Blissy proud.

  • Ho-oh as a special wall is definitely viable, and this match showed it. With 106 base HP and 154 base Special Defense, and after a Calm Mind, I'd imagine it'd be hard to take down with just Special Attacks. But it's a good thing that you took out Kyogre first.

  • Thats a different approach on Ho-oh!

    But you used it well!
