it's been a year since I've listened to this song, and every time I hear this I always have to cancel my 87 x 538 kg. orders of Viagra... thank you Rusty Cooley for making me live life as natural as possible
please answer me Rusty Cooley :) do you use the thumb muting technique when you pick lead, and do you use economy picking? you got such a perfect technique and i am practicing my techniques so it would be really appreciated if you could share that information with me (and all your fans). btw, that harmonizer is un-Rusty-believable! and i checked if you have more power than all of those that SplashOfVomit mentioned, and it appears its true! :) Take care man!
Thanks for the entertaining video, i'm going to buy an axe fx ultra soon hopefully. It's expensive but if you think the million tones you get with it, it's not that expensive after all :P + i can sell old gear worth 700€!
Have you had a chance to try out the Pod HD series from Line 6? Obviously a lot of pros give the Axe thumbs up but it is significantly more expensive than competitors. Some say the HD series has narrowed the gap?
Haha, harmonized love. That harmonizer does sound awesome though! I'll get my hands on an axe fx one of these days! RC7 is coming this year for sure too. Selling a bunch of crap to get one.
Hey...this song sound like extraterrestrial music...i loved....i honestly want to became like you someday in guitar....so...im keep training.....you are on the best guitar players of my mind!
It's just not right that somebody can play every note perfectly that fast. I'm not saying that it's not fair, I'm just saying it doesn't seem possible.
rusty, your just like me, once i get the camera rolling, i forget its on and start waking off, every time i record a cover theres always random improv everywhere
hey, i'm a big fan of your stuff, Mr. Cooley, and i'm wondering....are you going to do another solo album? if so, when? your first one was incredible, and i'm just curious as to when one may come out in the future.
That 'last setting' is cool, however, I think one could use it for special parts of songs only. Hereing you playing it for seven minutes is way, way, way too much for me.
finaly, which one do you prefer?, fractal or tube amp? i see lot of head as back .... its why i'm asking and i'm actualy use a engl SE in el34, i don't know if i will switch to pre-amp/power amp or if i will keep my tube head. tanks for response Mr. Cooley
Rusty, a technique question if you don't mind. When you are hammering on and off the fretboard, how hard are you pressing down? My hand seems to get so fatigued when I try to play faster. I assume you are only pressing down as hard as you need to... but just thought you might have some advice? Thanks!
@BornIntoMusic you gotta learn to move without moving if that makes sence to make the most movement while make these least ammount of movement .. the more movement you make the more fatigued your gonna get ... idk how to explain it the technique
May i please ask, what speaker/cab are you running through? And also, do you use a midi pedal board? If so which one? Thanks Rusty, long time aussie fan!
hey rusty hope u reply to this because i need some help, i was wondering how often and for how long you warm up for because at the moment i cant play guitar because i have pain in my album and my fretting hand seizes up when i play, i am studying for a degree in music and would like to be a pro muscian when i leave university any information you could give me on guitar playing health would be much appreciated. Big fan of your work and your dvds have helped my playing come a long way.
Rusty would love the Eventide Pitchfactor. This sounds a little digitally. Well A LOT. lol I still don't get the hype over Axe FX but leads sound cool through it...well his kind of leads...I like more natural tones like Paul Gilbert/Kiko Loureiro get through Laney amps.
This is pritty cool Rusty. i fine myself sick of effects and even distortion sometimes if you can feel me. I always try to get a sort of george bellas softer slightly overdriven tone, but it always turns out just as sterile as his own tone which is never cool. I want that classical guitar sound kinda hollowy abit echoey. so lovely. Sometimes high gain makes me feel ill lol maybe its just me. have a good day and of course your playing is god mode. I jus posted first vid tell me what ya think.
post you patches on axechange please!!! make sure we can recognize your patch when you post put you name with it or something the axe fx community would love it!
Shredding turns into a wall of noise with a harmonizer. That's literally what John Petrucci sounds like when he is pushing 5 billion notes per second.
That harmonizer sounds great. It really seems to track well. I've been trying to convince my fiance that I need one of these. She hasn't budged yet! haha
Your point? Couldn't do it live, could he? It required tracking his guitar several times, and the same with all of the multi-voice choral sections. I'm sure they would've given anything to have access to good quality harmonizing technology back then.
Not knocking them at all, by the way. Huge Queen fan here.
Is it true you have more power than Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, and the Old Spice guy riding a horse whenever your a few feet away from a guitar?

Rusty is an awesome guitar player, but I'm curious if he can play the most difficult song in the world... Teen Spirit by Nirvana.
Now if he can play that, I'll be impressed.
