@mromanov I am an independent agent and sell health insurance! Maybe you didn't understand what I said or haven't read Senate Bill 1070. First, my point was that those that could never get insurance before for whatever reason who, by SB1070, now can, will be payed for by higher premiums for you and I. Insurance companies are not going to just assume that liability for free! They also will be reimbursed for all of the other legislation that compells them to submit to as well. Again,you and I pay.

@coleyman1 The cost of the uninsured is on your insurance bill. The providers all cost shift from the uninsured that come into the emergency room onto the those who can pay. This is why the hospital bills are so very high. It is an extremely inefficient system. A single payer system would be far more efficient but for whatever reason we seem to be stuck with having the overhead of insurance companies and folks like you in the system. At least lets make it work a little better.

Check the malpractice law suits in your state and how much money was paid out in the last five years. Call your local hospitals and see how many illegals were treated last year and the cost. @coleyman1 If health insurance was allowed to go interstate, states would no longer be able to regulate it. The federal government can regulate interstate commerce but not states. As a result, we would lose all the protections of the state laws.

If someone does something that cripples a patent for life, the republicans want to put a limit on how much juries can award. Even if the action was on purpose or negligent the damages would be limited.

@knowledgemonger You need to check and see just how much "regulating" your state is doing! We have only REPEAT "ONLY" three competitive health insurance companies in my state. I have talked to some of my friends who are agents in other states ie. Alabama, Mississippi, Geogia, Florida, Texas and Missouri. (We represent some of the same companies in the auto insurance field) They all tell the same story. Only a couple in each state and they have a monopoly on the business in their states.

They pointed out that having a pool of uninsured persons drives up the cost of health care which inturn is passed on to the government or to you and I. Most of the "pool of uninsured" are emergency room calls and liabled back to medicare/medicaid systems.This is in no way as expensive as those people who are uninsurable being forced on rolls of some insurance company who will be destined to pay for something that they would never have to.

@coleyman1 The CBO works with real numbers to the best of their ability. Predicting is always hard. Doubly so when it is about the future but the CBO numbers are likely close. We only really have to compare the health care in other countries to that in the US to see what this hopelessly inefficient system of paying is costing us. Canada pays just about 3/5ths what we do per person and gets better results. France and Germany do about the same. These are all different systems than ours.

There is a difference between what the fed is doing and the bailout. The fed operates without government oversight, while the bailout is a congressional spending bill.

I imagine, like most democrats, Grayson thinks the government can do good things with money. Whether that is right or wrong, I don't really know, but that the fed can just create money from thin air without permission from anyone is pretty messed up.

Excuse me, but Ron Paul is listed as a Republican and sponsors H.R. 1207, "Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009". And he's also one of the people who has wanted to see an end to the Fed for a long long time now.

Grayson is on the list as one of the co-sponsors and hey, that's great. But don't say it's a party issue. These latecomers have always tried to block the Ron Paul bills that sought to end the Fed. Explain why now that some are finally voting no? Because election time is near.

I personally worked on the campaign to elect Alan Grayson and I can vouch that he doesn't drive around in a limousine. He actually drives a Chrysler Sebring which is pretty humble considering he is a millionaire and could afford a much more expensive car. This video is propaganda and its not surprising considering it was put out by the NRCC.

Well, that bailout money has to come from somewhere. Of course, your right, the US government doesn't have that money since it is trillions of dollars in debt. Therefore, it creates money of out thin air. Inflation is the natural effect of expanding the monetary supply. By inflation, I mean the decreased purchasing power of ever dollar you and I own. So in that sense, yes-the FED is spending our money.
