Classic!.. Long hair, platform shoes, AJ pants and a large collar shirt.. Yep that was me.. Today we have to put up with tank top tee shirts and pants that hang low enough too show the crack of their ass! We had style back in those days..
When this song went number one on the charts I was thinking the entire world is changing and I was playing with a teletype in High School and the teacher kept telling us we better learn computers because the future is going to be nothing but computers let alone I never seen one so I don't what they look like because Bill gates had not invented it yet, and the teacher was right.
11 people don't know real music when they hear it or they must be deaf or out of touch of those times...Get some history in ya life...this kind of music paved the way for other greats. Most of today's music doesn't have this substance...
By far one of the best songs ever written. I have such great memories of just walking in the rain and singing this song after my boyfriend stepped out on me. Hey it's ok we were just kids. No matter, life turned out so much better than if I spend the rest of it with him. But this is such a great song!!!!
@funkmex75, that's on my PROFILE, not every song I comment about!! Can't you understand the difference??? My question is why you keep arguing with a BLACK woman about this?? I'm a hypocrite? You have a nerve! First you call yourself "white folks", then admit you're Italian AND Mexican! lol Ok, whatever! You don't now what Asian music is? I'm not surprised! LMAO
@funkmex75, no it doesn't make me "feel better"...why should it? WHO CARES? Why do you have to say what race you are because you like black music?? If I like a song by someone white, I don't get on here and say I'm black, I just say I like the song! Good music is good music, it has no color!! smh .
@Diciasette11 so why do you have in your profile that you are a black female from southern california who likes asian music (whatever that is) and asian men ? hypocritical don't you think ?????
@BlacknesUnforgiveable, that's right! WTH trying to tell somebody what to make?? If u don't like today's r&b, don't listen to it! Besides, how did someone named "funkMEX" identify as "white folks"?? smh
Shit, I remember my mum and my aunt playing all these oldies on a cool summer night, BBQing and drinking more than a few cold beers. Shit, those were the good ol' days.
I can't wait till it starts actually raining, by then hopefully I don't have to DRUG TEST and I can blaze a phat blunt and go outside in the rain listening to this song......
The guitar riff sounds like the beginning of Madlib's / Madvillian's America's Most blunted. Only beatheads would understand this!! this is a great song!
Soul and R&B music from like 1965-1985 for me was the "bomb." Or as more commonly said, was "what's up!! Best music ever produced from Motown thru the 70's and 80's. I could be here for months thinking of all the talent and memories a song like this has for me. God Bless all of you for sharing your talent!!
@faith2xxxIn part, because years ago corporate America bought up all the radio stations and insisted they play the same stuff over and over. Companies like Clear Channel removed the independent stations that played music like this. Another reason is the mood of the country has changed: everyone is angry now and therefore rap is big.
@JET997u You are so correct, and not to mention that same corporate America is why we're being constantly bombarded by over-sexed, useless music featuring talentless 'artists.' This is why I listen to my iPod while driving!
