  • I think this was from World in Action !

  • i do think he's overreacting a bit. sure the 4-skins were reactionary and the exployted were pretty much a nazi band (or at least the singer was) but most of it was just to shock. it got really bad in 81 when ian stewart reformed skrewdriver and turned it into a nazi band@WeaselKing1000 punk did more than you ever did buddy. grow a set of ears and fuck off you cunt

  • @WeaselKing1000 punk did more than you ever did buddy. grow a set of ears and fuck off you cunt

  • Most punk is just junk, here today and gone tomorrow. Couldn't survive the 80s, thank god.

  • @WeaselKing1000 - What the fuck do YOU know? You are 20 years old. Grow up, and then apologize for your childish stupidity.

  • Manifest Destiny for America and our Hebrew brothers in Israel!

  • Big Stick's "Drag Racing" song/video which was featured in "John Peel's Record Box" can be found at our youtube channel,,,, you're invited to visit... we're thankful for all the attention John brought to our music...damn, we sure miss John!!....

  • The Specials started attracting White Supremisist kids - maybe it was their short hair? Tough times in Coventry? The furious beat? The Specials were a mixed race band (hence "Two Tone") and wanted NO part of that crap. Kudos to The Specials. Then, we have Bowie coming back from Germany, and Harry in a Nazi uniform. It's a flirtation, but one that hurts so deeply to this day. Not cool.

  • the world functions in anarchy?

  • i loved that man on the radio he is a legend

  • in a fascist state the punks would be the first to go nazi punk fuck off

  • @FOIIAD - Nothing frightens the fascists like anarchy.

  • Jo , war damals Pflichtprogramm . Schön mit dem Casettenrecorder alles mitgeschnitten . Werde ich nie vergessen . Total schade daß er nicht mehr lebt .

  • Oh; wie vermisse ich diese Stimme! "John Peels Music on BFBS" das wöchentliche Highlight!!!

    R.I.P.

  • me and the lads used to buy 2 cases of lager and go camp out on a saturday night and listen to john on the radio. god i wished we never sniffed petrol at the time bcos john blew our minds

  • Much respect to John Peel, but I think maybe he misunderstood the use of Nazi names and imagery: some used it to shock and for irony (The Exploited), others for an abstract statement of mood or about society or human nature (Joy Division, Spear of Destiny, New Order), still others as an explicit statement against Nazism (Aus-Rotten), and only a very few for actual pro-Nazi sentiment (Landser) - and most Nazi bands are deemed not punk by the punks, themselves or both.

  • yes, that's odd Peel didn't get it (although at least he's sincere about it): but some of the London punk scene was derived from the amorphous group "London SS" (Mick Jones and many others) and it could hardly be said to contain any fascists. He championed Siouxsie, armband and all. New Order got their name from the Cambodian resistance. People interpret things in their own way... btw, apologies to anyone who doesn't understand or care what I'm talking about...

  • if you ever read v for vendetta it was inspired by the rise in white nationalism that was happening in the british counterculture at the time.

  • Good pop or rock musicians will always look to shock in one way or another.

I doubt very much whether more than a handful of such people, ever had a hardcore interest in such subjects. In fact less than a handful would probably be more accuate.

  • ok, no matter how "punk" you are, nazi-ism is not cool. anarchy, ok.. the world functions in a state of anarchy... but nazi-ism is NOT cool. period.

  • @nelson3300 Anarchy is a form of facism.

  • @LudgerBW - this is pure and total ignorance.

  • @MrPlanx Perhaps you'd like to explain why I'm ignorant. I've made my point. It's what I believe. I could be wrong but making blunt abusive comments doesn't persuade I am.

  • @LudgerBW - Anarchy is the total lack of government. Fascism is a government controlled by corporations that seek to homogenize society and protect the ultra-wealthy from dissidents with brute force. The two could not be any more different than black and white are as colors. I say this as someone who has actually lived under both conditions.

  • @MrPlanx I agree with that but human society tends to form into political or hierarchical forms eventually The closest we came to this anrchical utopia was back in the 60's with the hippy movement and look at the way that movement became abused and expoited.for cynical ends. Your anarchical world would eventually prove me right. It's a worthwhile concept but in reality we would end up with the same old power tripping control freaks at the top of the chain exploiting the rest.

  • @LudgerBW - After it forms into a hierarchy, it is no longer anarchy, so your point is irrelevant. Anarchy has NOTHING to do with fascism - PERIOD.

  • @MrPlanx Again I don't disagree with your point but again you've fundamentally missed mine. Looking forward to seeing how 7 billion earth dwellers are going to function in your utopian state of anarchy. I don't want to be around when or if it happens. (with apologies to John Peel....).

  • @MrPlanx Oh this again.... Look stop hitting me with this will you?!. You really are as dense as a Jinsy box over this,. I DID NOT SAY ANARCHY IS A FORM OF FACISM HOW ABOUT READING WHAT I SAID INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU MISTAKENLY THINK I DID. The matter is now closed!

  • @LudgerBW - Look up about 7 posts from here. YOU wrote, to Nelson, "Anarchy is a form of fascism.". Yes, the matter is closed, because you said it, and it is dead wrong.

  • @MrPlanx I agree with that but human society tends to form into political or hierarchical forms eventually The closest we came to this anrchical utopia was back in the 60's with the hippy movement and look at the way that movement became abused and expoited.for cynical ends. • @MrPlanx Perhaps I'm cynical about basic human nature.

  • @LudgerBW You're just fucking wrong.

  • @avalonsays I don't thinks so but I hope I don't find out when fuckers like you have your way.

  • @LudgerBW Anarchy: lack of any political authority/total loss of control. Anarchism: the stance that all forms of government are oppressive and must go. You're just fucking wrong.

  • Very interesting! Never knew that things about Joy Division and New Order. But thinking of Ministry's song New World Order - I wouldn't call it "flirting" though.

But thanks a bunch for that clip, mate!

  • disturbing, but unfortunately many punks have in the past aligned themselves with a nazi ideaology...that isn't to say that all punks are nazis-I'm personally align myself with a great deal of punk idology-but too many kids I knew found nazism seductive-

  • halls where pop music was played, he he

again wise words peely, i know he loves joy division though, i don't think they ever wanted to make being a nazi fashionable

  • i think joy division was when the ss nazis would have sex with the jewish women in the gas camps.before thay were killed

they called it the joy division

  • great clip!

  • rare
