I did a test ride on a Versys a few days ago and thought there was a lot to like in the bike. However, I thought the transmission was really stiff such that after about a forty minute ride, my left foot was beginning to bother me. I also thought the distance between the left peg and shifter was much too short. There's probably an aftermarket item for this and even if there isn't, swapping shift levers is no bid deal. I am curious whether you found the Versys shifting stiff. Also...
Thank you for your answer. I was refering to the fact you where overtaking cars on the motorway on the right side (right lane, not the shoulder), and I was just wondering if this is legal in the US. Sources on the Internet where not that clear, some say it is, some say it is not - maybe it also depends on the state.
In Austria (and most other European countries, as far as I know), this is not be legal, but people still tend do it sometimes ;-)
@arnoldhau1 Here in Oklahoma it isn't a big deal. Your supposed to pass on the left, and slower traffic supposed to move right for you, but it doesn't always happen that way.
How does this bike handle on the freeway? I see it is capable of doing it, but is it comfortable? I have a DRZ400 that I've taken on the freeway. It is capable, but not comfortable/ practical. I am trying to decide between this and the Vstrom 650. Any help is appreciated.
@PetrosVu I think they look worse than the factory mirrors, but are a little easier to see things and don't vibrate. I do want an aftermarket windscreen, but i think the prices are ridiculous.
@thytum I havn't had any problems with the suspention. It feels pretty good to me after a few adjustments. I'm going to do a long term test in a few weeks so subscribe if you want to see that.
@thytum Yeah the bike just isn't set up for offroad riding. But it wasn't designed for use offroad. I personaly wouldn't use if for anything worse than a gravel road.
You should shove the gopro on your noseguard of your helmet, and shut the visor on it. Before you say that it would obstruct your view, try it and see if it bothers you too much. Then you could talk in your test ride. I left a video response with a video I made where I did that and it turned out pretty good.
@shepardSG Comment back if you have any other questions. The versys is a much better street bike, but the f650gs would make a better gravel/dirt road bike. imo
my next bike maybe

@arnoldhau1 I'm not sure what your asking. It is illegal to pass on the shoulder.

U want to get FZ1? What for? Your driving skills are so low. Im sure 50cc "fartbike" scooter is good enough.

What area were you riding in? Looked like the DFW area. Nice color choice mean green, just Versys has ABS option.
