I love the cyberpunk genre, and Lawnmower Man is one of my favorite films of all time. I highly recomend watching the two hour and twenty minute director's cut, the theatrical cut is a big mess.
yes mate i totally agree this movie is the shit. to add to your theory, the lawnmowerman was originally called Steven King's the lawnmowerman because it borrowed some small elements from a story he did. after the move came out king sued the film makers and subsequently the steven king bit was dropped. perhaps that has something to do with it, just a thought.
I've seen it,it's one of his good ones but sadly he hasn't got enough of them. apart from the Bond movies and Mrs.Doubtfire,he really hasn't made many decent films.
I have the longer version of this movie. More plot points are covered, although there are still a fair amount of holes. Still a decent movie though. Sequel is not as bad as many make it, but it's definitely mediocre.
I think you meant 140 minutes. The theatrical is 107 minutes, so it might be an error of the time, but I believe you that it's got the extra footage on it.

Your'e right steven king wasn't happy with the film because it drifted so far from his story so he sued to have his name off the film.

My DVD version Has about 32 mins of deleted scenes and the movie itself runs for 107 mins
and yes these deleted scenes help a whole lot more with the plot line.

Seems like a good movie to checkout. I heard the sequel is dreadful and maybe even one of the worst movies ever.
