nice kung fu and silat stances and techniques. at least you are not using the kickboxing form like many 'kungfu' practitioners use and call it kung fu.
Great exchange! I love the wing chun tech, just enough and what's necessary. I have one question, can you confirm about the coffee history in the fight between Tuan & Flores in Hanoi, our master told us some about it...
Well done to both guys. Excellent control showing that they could hit if they wanted to but both are looking after the safety of the other. True masters in my opinion. Respect is due.
wow this only the sports silat not the real one yet, and yet hes soo good, wow what more if the guy uses traditional/real silat ? cant imagine the power, i bet the wing chun guy will have a hard time man. Both styles rock !
Taking into consideration that both were holding back due to the fact that this is a friendly match, both showed a pretty good skill! Well done to both!!
IF U WATCH CAREFULLY AT FIRST THEY KIND USED FORM WING CHUN TO EXCHANGE AFTERWARD THEY HAVE TO USED FREE STYLE WHICH IS KICKBOXING OR MORE LIKELY MUAY THAI BE COMMON SENSE HERE MUAY THAI IS THE REAL STREET FIGHTER IF U WANT TO LEARN HOW TO FIGHT MUAY THAI IS THE ANSWERN STRAIGHT FORWARD THAT WHY BRUCE LEE HAS DEVELOPE HOIS OWN STYLE COMBINE EVERYTHING IN IT IT CALL JEET KUNE DO " TRIET QUYEN DAO "
@TheVq35de Jeet Kune Do uses Wing Tsun as a base not Muay Thai. Any form once you get good enough will do fine in a "street fight" so long as that form has become instinctive, ie you react using what you have learned not just... I duno, spear tackling or something...
@0zzben Well, since wing chun and silat are so very much fundamentally different, no such mix is possible. Silat has big moves and high kicks, wing chun uses economy of motion and a tight defense with straight punches and low kicks as its best weapons.
@Moodo1 FUnny you would say that. I was just thinking that many silat i have seen seemed to use the same concepts as wing chun boxing.. i am but a humble beginner... also in this particlar video both gentleman seem to use large movements with over extensions and high kicking.. neither seem to me, in my humble view, to be using wing chun boxing at all. Which one is the wing chun man?
I kinda respect Flores, I watch his last match with one of the vietnames guy. Hes very humble, and challenging, and really friendly after the match, even though, if he's got hurt.
Silat suck, no center line control...imagine this fight happened in street, Shaolin WING chun WOULD KILLED the silat guy. Most of time, he turned his back to the opponent after KICKING...that is not a good idea.
By the way, Wing Chun perform here is really impressive, keeping the centerline, on always going forward..But one thing i realize, you retreat to much and COUNTER attack, unlike our WING CHUN lineage, it is better to intercept or step aside and follow than retreat.
@nickfingers It is a very bad attitude to say that a martial arts sucks. There are people who suck. But if you meet a true master in any system, he'll be tough no matter what. Often times, it's the practitioner and his attributes that make the difference. In martial arts, you should learn to respect all styles. In fact, you can learn a lot from other styles which can help you in your chosen style.
@hulkout666 Exactly, especially when you meet somebody with around the same skill level as you (like this) it looks a little messy and choppy, cuz you're trying you're best and so is he.
@nickfingers this is sport silat bro, traditional silat is also the same as wing chun , which targets vital points ,etc which proved very deadly in countless battles in majapahit etc. Its not very nice to say a certain style sucks etc, all are good, only the practiitoner that makes a difference. Hell ihv seen wing chun guys that lose too . this is only the psort version of sialt imagine the real silat, it will no doubt give the wing chun guy hell. Still great fights from both guys, love both art
@nickfingers i am a leung ting wing tsun practitioner and what you said is mostly bull except for some parts about wc but you're a total fool into thinking silat sucks/ is useless any real martial artist would acknowledge one's own art and another's from wing chun/tsun to karate to even boxing or the one art i hate because of it's overrated popularity muay thai and yet i still acknowledge it. so being a wt practitioner and believing my art is superior it does not mean i myself am.
@pingskillz well, Technically, all the techniques in Wing Chun, come from Shaolin Kung Fu, which contains ALL MARTIAL ARTS TECHNIQUES. Wing Chun is mainly Crane and Snake techniques combined. All Chinese Style evolved from 1 style. The difference is probably that this may have Shaolin System as its backbone, and use alot of the angles of Wing Chun which are very effective.
But congratulations to the two guys for the courage shown to exchange with each other of two different styles, it was not to say who is the winner I think and you see in the vieo that it was really friendly so congratulations to both of the fighters they've showed a good video of what is a friendly exhcange of techniques in martial arts.
For me it is evident that Flores (white t-shirt) was better in what he do and also in sparring or combat. The numbers of time in the video that Flores controls himself becasue he could hit the other guy several time. The other guy shows his back once to Flores and Flores controls himself. For me it is clear who was the best in this video. I've seen other videos of Flores and I can say that in this video he was not at 100% of what he can do so the other guy is clearly not at the level
Excellent technique Flores : never do too much and hit quick and with control. Every technique use is for a purpose. Continue like this you are very efficient in combat!

Why so many dislikes?
Do people expect MMA type sparring where you're beating each other to hospitalization or something?
It does say friendly in the title afterall, and it's better than other friendly spars I've seen with no equipment.
