Actually, I found those out on later trips, going back through, but I did not realize that they worked that way: when you get to a certain block you get "pushed" up through the floor. Not sure if this is a glitch or something that the SMILE program can do.
It didn't LOOK like such a simple situation, and I've been deceived by other hacks to believe that when something looks that hard, it usually is.

you know:
Maridia, that place before the elevator down, you can jump up through the pipes to get back up at any point.
Crateria: that last pipe to get up out of the water? spin jump, no bombing required.
