America needs to "switch gears." The post WW2 fantasy land of America with the only industry left on earth and a world in need of our products is OVER!!! We are returning to a more normal state, where you will only be part of the middle class if you have useful skills and a good education. The economic crash won't be because of income inequity, it will be because of entitlements. Social Security, Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, and Unemployment now eat up more than the US takes in.

Although I got to travel and live a nice live (simple, but nice), with various jobs throughout the years, I now realize that what I thought 30 years ago is turning out to be true. It was all fake money. What a shame. Especially for the long-term gov't and union workers, who spent their whole lives, working for those promised benefits. Even service members of the army, etc,,,have been planning their retirements on those benefits, now to find out it was all faked up money. Life for lies. ouch

The politicians are actually doing plenty "about it". Bank bailouts & Keynesian stimuli have made the problem exponentially worse. I saw all of this coming by listening to a few insightful people (Marc Faber, Doug Casey, Peter Schiff, Nassim Taleb, to name a few) and got all of my meager assets (and ample ass) out of the US in 2007.

You can do the basic preparatory stuff like stock up on food and water, but the real preparation should be done by building relationships within your community. Our current financial system has taught us to be individualistic, and only to worry about our own personal prosperity. Screw everyone else as long as a profit is made for myself. When the system fails I think it will be important to realize that we are part of a collective, and that the real power will come from working together.

These have to be boycotted because they do nothing to better/improve the economy. All it does is transfer the hard earned wealth from the lower and middle class back to the elite. And in the process it also dumbs you down. Its all part of the DUMBING DOWN PROCESS.
