  • Dear Maggie Hebrew,

Thank you so much for the education in Swedish, I am very appreciative for the insight and pronunciation of Swedish you have taken the time to share. You are helping me so much. You are a blessing and a beautiful reflection of Swedish class and character. I look forward to watching more of your videos. The more I see the more I learn. Tack sa mycket ifran USA (sorry I don't have the proper letters). Tack igen Svenska Tjej.

We'll see each other in two hours – Vi ses om två timmar.

We met 2 hours ago – Vi träffades för två timmar sedan.

Before 2 pm – Innan klockan två

After 2 pm – Efter klockan två

Around 2 pm – Runt klockan två /Cirka klockan två /Omkring klockan två

Thank you for your support! :)

  • In the Swedish language we don’t use “pm” or “am”. It’s obvious to us that we are talking about morning/night. And when we would meat a friend etc. we normally say “Imorgon kväll, klockan sju” – “Tomorrow nigh, seven a clock”, “Imorgon klockan tio” – “Tomorrow ten a clock”. (If we don’t say that tomorrow night it’s obvious to us that we talk about tomorrow in the morning). But if you would receive an invitation, normally in the letter it would stand for example: 17:00 – 5 pm

  • :) Swedish language is the funniest of the world, except that I indiscrimination Swedish language from the Danish and Norwegian (identically worded).

For me, a Pole, Swedish sounds like: a German grew up and lived from childhood in Hungary, in Budapest, the district populated by Russian immigrants.

  • @KristVladic - The Swedish language is actually a mix of Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, French, English and German! And in the beginning were all the Scandinavian languages one language. So your description isn't so far away from the truth :)

  • @MaggieHebrew

    Dziękuję za odpowiedź.:)

    Tack för ditt svar.:)

  • Excellent!! Superclear with the white board :)

I agree with SebbeSucksBawlz with the difference between am and pm?

And how would you say: we'll see each other in two hours? we met 2 hours ago?

And: before 2 pm? after 2 pm? around 2 pm?

Thanks so much to both of you!! :)

  • Nice lesson as always. Question though; how do you say, for example, 4 in the morning? How would you differentiate between night and morning ?

  • @SebbeSucksBawlz we say its in the morning or if its in the evening we say "its past lunch time"

  • @dealerovski82 Oh ok, cheers.
