In fact (as I'm sure you're aware) caloric restriction has been shown to lower disease incidence and extend lifespan in EVERY species ever tested. @Icarus313 The food supply is grossly understated. We use productive and valuable growing soil and water to produce corn and wheat that is never used because of subsidies. If you just look at all the food wasted at all-inclusive resorts, cruise lines and buffets, it's enough to feed millions.
GMO's harm us in many ways, not because they have cancer causing qualities, but because they are missing vital nutrients and enzymes. The lake of those cause the body to be weaker in fighting cancer.
I support genetic engineering of food. Going back to organic would mean mass starvation. But Monsanto is a fucking terrible company - even before the GM stuff started. This brilliant technology is getting way too tied up in corporate control and it's just giving ammo to the anti-GMO crowd. The best thing that could happen at this point would be for the gene patents and exclusive seed rights to expire so farmers in developing countries aren't held hostage by Monsanto and others.

We have more than enough land worldwide. It's when, for example, Colombia uses half of all it's agricultural capability for coffee, even though we know caffeine is horrible for thehuman body. @huntingtonbeachify Damn right. Most people don't realise that the body's need for calories is very, very low. But our need for nutrients is high. In fact (as I'm sure you're aware) caloric restriction has been shown to lower disease incidence and extend lifespan in EVERY species ever tested. This ranges from rats/mice to dogs, cats and primates. If the will was there the whole world could be fed, without GMO.

@Icarus313 The food supply is grossly understated. We use productive and valuable growing soil and water to produce corn and wheat that is never used because of subsidies. If you just look at all the food wasted at all-inclusive resorts, cruise lines and buffets, it's enough to feed millions.
GMO's harm us in many ways, not because they have cancer causing qualities, but because they are missing vital nutrients and enzymes. The lake of those cause the body to be weaker in fighting cancer.

I support genetic engineering of food. Going back to organic would mean mass starvation. But Monsanto is a fucking terrible company - even before the GM stuff started. This brilliant technology is getting way too tied up in corporate control and it's just giving ammo to the anti-GMO crowd. The best thing that could happen at this point would be for the gene patents and exclusive seed rights to expire so farmers in developing countries aren't held hostage by Monsanto and others.

haha, my cousin marc use to talk to me like this when I was younger. Everytime I listen to Joe it's like taking a trip down memory lane. But I have to disagree with the use of genetic enginneering. We have more than enough land worldwide. It's when, for example, Colombia uses half of all it's agricultural capability for coffee, even though we know caffeine is horrible for thehuman body. Also, the use of industrial hemp could solve so many problems. Kust my opinion, anybody want to comment? :)

Ever ate a banana? They're genetically modified. Non-modified bananas have seeds that would break your teeth, the actual fruit inside is bitter, they're green and significantly smaller than the ones you'd find in your average fresh fruit and vegetables section.

@fearlessway There's never been a single public-record of anybody EVER getting a genetic-mutation traced-back to eating a GMO-based food. Soy-based allergy's in Europe have popped-up, (they allow nut-based GMO's- not us), but aside from that- nothing. Don't believe me? Google it.

I am pro Ron Paul but one thing I am against is GMOs. The idea that there isn't enough food for the world is a lie. America has so much food that we waste, throw away, eat half of and toss out like we exhaled it. Do not be fooled by this propaganda, we are the reason the poor are poor and the hungry are hungry and it is all about one thing $. A shared recource based world is the solution. @ljk8013 He explained it dude, If your at that point in life and you hit the lotto then you'll wont really find your way because you don't really need to do anything. You have all the money you ever need and obtained it so quickly. I'm 20 and if i hit the lotto I'd probaly be playing MW3 a lot more, forget about pursuing a higer education,and probaly be changed by all that wealth. At that age money can change you but if you go through a few years of hardship you'll be more grounded.

Now that I am getting into politics I listen to Joe and I find out he supports the same politician as I do.
