hey, can u help me with my laptop... because i downloaded windows 7 from torrent... then i burned it on disc then install it on my computer then now everytime i open my laptop.. the system opens up but the monitor doesnt but when i hook it up to other monitor... it works... but my laptop's monitor doesnt... what should i do or what should i download
this is a problem with the graphic card on the motherboard. needs new motherboard, or reballing. don't send it to ebay for repairs as they'll just fix it then it'll last for 2 weeks
@reply4reply Of course that the lap needs a new motherboard. Or reballing - which can be done only by professional equipment. I didnt understand your point about sending to ebay to fix it? To send a lap to Ebay??!! Of course it is out of question. My advice was to check the prices of motherboards on the ebay in order to replace it. If you know any better source of cheap motherboards, please share that information with us.
continued....or you can bring the lap in the comp. service. Whatever you decide to do, my advice is to check the prices of your card model on the ebay. They are from $50 to $150, depending on model and postage. Its good to know that even if you are going to comp. service. Type the mxm-upgrade in Google, it is a site with details how to replace the card for different lap models. Dont try to buy anything from that site, it is only for showing.
BTW, reinstall XP, to be sure it is not of software.
Well i don't think that this is because of software, cause this happen also when i go to Bios. it have a Nvidia Label on laptop, but im not sure if this is Integrated or Card
@hnz1233 This is typical video of bad video ram or GPU. As it is HP, it is more typical- reballing, replacing or just throwing away this crap. It is major PCB design error (too thin PCB and too much heat from some chips. Also, Pb free technology).
@hnz1233 Yes, if you have the same problem in BIOS it is certainly not because of software, it is a card.
As can be seen on DESMONTANDO PORTATIL HP ZV5000.mp4 Youtube video, the ZV5000 has integrated graphic, so, unfortunatelly, you must replace the motherboard. On the ebay just type HP Pavilion ZV5000 Motherboard, you can find used but tested cards (dont order untested) for about $80-90 (shipp. included).
@hnz1233 continued...If you are using AMD proccessor, the motherboard should be of AMD type. (And Intel for Pentium). Integrated graphic could be Nvidia or ATi - since you are installing a new motherboard, it is irrelevant for you.
Of course, you can send a lap to comp.service and leave all that to them.
@hnz1233 i hope that you found answers, to see them just click "show" on hidden comments, because they are for some Youtubes`s reasons detected as spams.
It seems to me it is a graphic card. I had a similar problem with the stripes on ext. monitor (lap screen was white) and I had to replace the card. If the lap is still under warranty, lucky you. If not, everything depends n lap model. This is is HP so find out which card is built in. If it is integrated in motherboard, you should replace the whole motherboard that could be so expensive that is better to buy a new lap. If the card is stand alone device, it can be replaced. You can do it yourself
