  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!! I first heard it in Love Jones.

  • C'est une merveille, ce duo entre John et le Duke. Ambroise B

  • coke, diamonds, new life, a beautiful woman in a red dress, perfection etc.

  • @AreYouSayingPow1 DR PEPPER MY DEAR, but all is fair .... just love it

  • This is my first love's favorite song. She introduced me to the wonderful world of Jazz. Since we are no longer together, Jazz is much more to me than it was before.

  • Ellington's solo is perfectly constructed.

Spare, but flawless. Rarely has so much been said with so little.

  • Late night - cold out side - in a bar - feeling depressed - lights are dim - a drink in your hand.

Those were always my associations... I love this song!

  • @dundo17 One of the best things about jazz is to associate scenarios to it bro. I feel ya ;)

  • One of my top ten

  • whats with that bloody clicking sound!

  • this is one of my favorite songs which happens to be one of the theme songs from my favorite love story, Love Jones.

  • Que soneira!... Morto demais... Cruz crédi!

  • I was listening to this from my mp3 today on the way home from school. It was raining but at the same time the "winter sun" was setting, Street lights where making the distant road look amazing.I was in a sad mood, but this song made my journey home a beautiful experience today. I should have put it on my mp3 player a long time ago.

  • THIS IS ON MY ALL TIME FAV MOVIE LOVE JONES!!!!!!!!!!! AHHH, NOTHING LIKE HEARING BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENTS! ^__^

  • the best piece of jazz ever...

  • Played this for my students while they were working because one intelligent little boy asked if I could play jazz instead of classical. 30 third graders give their thumbs up.

  • Rainy days

  • @isabee4 lol :D for a second I thought you were angry because your description says "marah!" which means "angry" in my native language. By the way, thanks for uploading.

  • Enregistrement parfait et surtout très bonne restitution sur IPhone.

  • This song reminds me of Amy Winehouse.

  • This, in a way, sounds a LOT like "Someone to Watch Over Me," by the Gershwin Bros., which I think is fantastic, being one of my favorite songs.

  • 7 people clearly don't appreciate how exceptional of a song this truly is.

  • @isabee4 Thank you for this post. Ilove this music. I never knew the name. Man so pleasing to the soul. My soul. hmmm nice on the ears. I could listen to this all day! Peace.

  • My father never loved. It makes me sad. I wrote a song about it. If you would like to hear send me a message with your phone # and I will sing it for you.

  • Jazz is slowly becoming my favorite music. It's winning me over :>

  • I'm only 15 and I usually listen to Hip Hop artists, but I have to say this is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever listened to

  • This piece brings tears to my eyes. It's one of the greatest of all times. I've been listening to this ever since I was a little girl. It's so dear to me. Even though I have it on my IPOD, I can listen to it over and over again. Thank You

  • Reminds me of cold winters, drinking coffee, while thinking about simpler times

  • Duke Ellington was 1 handsome Katt : )

  • My man just proposed to me on my bday... I so want this song to be my first dance with him

  • love it!

  • This is a perfect song. . .

  • This is better than porn.

  • @SmithyGFX I find it hard to take your opinion seriously. You're probably just fronting, anyways.

  • @SmithyGFX Man, this IS porn.

  • @19TheGunslinger you said it cat!

  • @SmithyGFX and thats a rare thing.

  • 6 people can suck it! really? How can you dislike this?

  • Son complètement pourri!

  • Love Jones.

  • This is a favorite of mine. Long live jazz music

  • This will be the first dance at my wedding:)

  • when i hear those first 7 keys strike...my mind fades out...everytime

  • I'm not a religious or spiritual person by any means. But I absolutely reject the notion that this is the product of a series of successful accidents. There has to be something else, someone else, this is too beautiful to come from chaos.

Listen to this song. Look into the eyes of your lover. Hold a new born child. We have to be here for a reason.

  • For years....I heard this for the first time on the Cosby Show as a kid. I couldn't find the song for a long time....when I found this.......it's still my ringtone.....you can't beat this.

  • @zayahdawriter this is on the love jones movie soundtrack. That is my fav soundtrack of all time. check it out.

  • @zayahdawriter haha, I have it too as a ringtone for few years now :-)

  • I swear its gotta be impossible to remain mad with this playing

  • LOVE this!!!!!!!

  • This song gives my soul gooseflesh, my eyes tears, and my face a smile. I tap my feet, nod my head, and absorb the sounds through my very muscles. This is universally beautiful and transcendent of just talent, you can feel the spirit of love and happiness emulating, fluctuating, but ever and steadily potent. Thank you for the post.

  • simply breathtakin what a experience

    capetownian

  • Something to listen to...

  • You can get this on a Greatest Hits package called "The Gentle Side of John Coltrane" Used to be 2 albums (I have it on vinyl and CD) now it's on one disc I think.

  • First heard this on an episode of the Cosby Show. Also heard it in the movie Love Jones with Lorenz Tate& Nia Long. Just found out who recorded it . This is really cool. Quite sure my moms & uncle born in the 20's had this in their collection.

  • One of the few songs that can make you cry tears of joy and sadness seemingly at the same time. Listening to this song puts life in slow motion and allows you time to think and piece together things that had been shattered from life's experiences. This song is a classic because it has helped so many people and because it will never be done better than this recording. I'm 19 and this song truly speaks to the soul.

  • My son used to hate this song, cause I'd use it to put him to sleep. LOL

Now he's 4, and he likes it.

  • This is one of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!! Classic

  • Now, this is music...

  • 5 people obviously have a shit taste in music.

  • 300K+ views and only 5 dislikes? amazing. love this song

  • I fell in love with this song and I fell in love to this song.

  • Two greats who lived a long time. Greatness doesn't have to stop at age 27. Coltrane had a long drug history, but prevailed. When your time is up. Your time is up. Ellington performed for decades. We dwell too much on the tragic deaths. Lets celebrate the ones who survive.

  • There are songs, and then there are songs! This is a close your eyes and drift off into what ever your happy place is jam! Peace to those that know and all those just finding out, I won't let you slide here, you shoulda known...................

  • This beautiful music... sweet and profound...spirals of love expressed through sound

  • This is one of those tunes in which the intro is almost as great as the tune itself..

  • Heard this song in my Jazz History course in college and am in love with it till today. The great John Coltrane with Duke Ellington, wow.....

  • i once read "phenomenal women" by maya angelou to this song played by members of my school's jazz band.

  • Fuck off ads I dont want to date pretty chinese girls while I am trying to listen to Duke Ellington and John Coltrane

  • @strayknowledge - Edward Kennedy Ellington, aka "Duke Ellington", wrote this one in 1935. And I never tire of listening to it. That's what makes music good, at least to me.

  • my family is billy strayhorn. he wrote this piece for the duke. to collab with john coltrane....makes me proud everytime i hear it.

  • @strayknowledge The greatest sound from Ellington conderning Strayhorn was when the orchestra had just completed the the album 'His Mother Named him Bill", and Ellington played a Strayhorn piece not realizing the recording equipment was still on. One of the greatest demonstrations of love ever recorded. Also one of the best Albums Ellington ever recorded. I am happy to have had some communication with blood of Billy Strayhorn.

  • @hommefriday thanks for that info. i never knew ellington recorded that piece unknowingly. if wasnt for the duke, billy's talents would have never flourished.

  • @hommefriday thanks for that info. i never knew ellington recorded that piece unknowingly. if wasnt for the duke, billy's talents would have never flourished.
