Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is inspired by great games such as the Silent Hill series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
This is wat I like about SH.its soo creepy n dark but also mystical. This was the 1st SH game I built up the nerve to play.n it changed the way I perceive horror games
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains ambient songs (and upbeat songs) heavily inspired by the world of Silent Hill and Akira Yamaoka, so if you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page. Also, links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) . Safe travels, keep your flashlight on and your radio close...
Whenever I order a pizza for delivery, that's when this song gets cranked on the stereo. You can just taste the cheese melting in your mouth when Yamaoka hits the 1:20 mark. Then some asshole comes barging in mouthing off about little girls and towns full of monsters, and giving me shit because I had the audacity to plan lunch time in the middle of his pedophile bullshit. Fuckin' prick. At least his girlfriend was hot. Man, I would pound that like the fist of an angry God.
Silent Hill has always attracted people with dark issues, and the town itself always seems to hold a curse, or a haunt. The characters from all games seem to have one thing in common, they had some connection to it. Harry liked to vacation there with cherryl, james and his wife had a 'special place' on the lake. Even in the newer games, Travis had been there with his derranged folks. The town brings these nightmares to reality, making the characters face these truths in the most profound way.
@dj66dog According to what I think, in Silent Hill things can happen if you believe it's possible. Like, if Eddie thinks there can be pizza in such an abanodned town no matter what has happened there, he will be able to find it.
I don't know if I explained myself well. The thing is, anything can happen in Silent Hill, as long as you believe it's possible...
If you guys like Akira you should search an instrumental artist called David Scott. Preferably an album called Repeating Yesterday by him. There are a lot of songs that sound extreamly Silent Hillish. Just check it out if your bored. I love it because it reminds me of Silent Hill. Seach some of his tracks like Numb Sensation, Temporary Heaven, Mist Field, Always Loving You and just google the darn album to find the rest of the tracks. lol
@Metalitron12 He probably used the same samples as Akira since they were "ready-made". I've posted a link to a list of some of the samples he used on my profile since it's not possible to do so on the comment list.
Pre-made? lmao I'm just gonna take a given guess here but aren't all synthesizers pre made sounds? haha Yes we are talking about Keyboards. Both Akira Yamaoka use them, David Scott and Ulrich Schnauss. Haha good answer though.
@Metalitron12 You make it sound like it was attacking him and that's not the case. I'm just saying that the pre-made sounds come from several sample libraries (Spectrasonics, 260db - Do a google search and you'll find them) and NOT from a synthesizer. I've created plenty of songs using these samples as well so that's how i know where they came from. He didn't use a synthesizer to create those as they were already made.
Okay cool. Id like to hear some of your tunes by the way if they have a Silent Hill feel. Also where can I download these premade sounds? Id like to try them out in Cool Edit Pro. lol
@Metalitron12 Of course synthesizers have pre-made sounds but these ones had already been programmed, filtered, phased etc. so that's what i mean by the definiton of "pre-made". I hope that cleared it even further.
@Metalitron12 Oh, almost forgot. He uses Logic Studio with EXSP24 sampler installed, so i don't think he used a synthesizer unless it was one with a MIDI connection.
Back when Youtube had a several week glitch, allowing music with popup ads on them to play automatically while set as the "featured video" even in grid view, I used this particular track as mine. That would probably explain why this song has so many views and yet so little comments =O
One thing I've wondered about the bowing alley scene is where did Eddie get the pizza from? An abandoned scary town, so where exactly do get pizza? :)
It took me awhile to figure it out, but it's just how anything else is synthesized in Silent Hill...surely if it can create a 3-mile deep-in-the-Earth prison with a maze under it, I'm sure it can spawn a freakin box of pizza.
I always loved this song used to be my ringer and alarm

Really cool song. One of the kind of happier song in the game, but it's still mysterious and strange.

Samples of what? lol Sorry im just trying to get a more specific answer. I got kind of confused.
Metalitron12 1 year ago
@Metalitron12 Music samples of course! Like ambient pads or horror FX etc.
Most of his songs were created from pre-made sounds and loops. Hope that cleared it up.
