Skrillex isn't dubstep the genre he belongs to is a microgenre of dubstep called brostep. Its characterized as being more fast paced and having more robotic distortions in the music. Not to mention the bass in brostep is in the mid-range where as dubstep actually has that lower-range bass; listen to all of it with some good subs or headphones and you'll instantly know what I'm talking about.

To recap Skrillex no = dubstep, Skrillex = brostep

Dubstep is benga, coki, and xkore to name a few.

But you do forget that Dubstep is also a form of Techno. It's all artificial beats and vocals, just like all techno is. So, Dubstep is also a sub genera of its own.

And just like every other genera and singer/artist/band within that genera, they have different styles of doing things. If we were to split everything up into different sub genera, then we would have millions and millions of them. and everyone would get even more confused.
