I don't know what most people are complaining about, I would be happy just to be in the same building at her, let alone in the same room...
She is ageing and none should expect her to be like years ago. Drugs may have made her voice age bit sooner, true she could have gone a bit longer...but still nothing change the fact that she is a living legend!...and for this reason, I would be so happy to see her on stage, even if she just sits there and talk, let alone singing some old tunes.

I'm a rabid Whitney fan...truly! Have loved her for years, through the good, bad and Bobby. Still, I have to say that if I had paid to see her most recent tour, I think I would have been somewhat disappointed. I understand and accept the reality that it's NOT 1987 and her voice has matured, changed and is more seasoned. That doesn't bother me at all. However, I do expect her to be able to actually sing the songs if she's charging folks to see a concert! If she can't pull it off, don't tour!

no no no. there is something else. her voice started deteriorating massively in 2008, i.e. long after her divorce. did she have surgery? or is it the drugs? or is she finally paying the price for never having had singing lessons. she always used to pull her larynx up and put it under immense pressure for her power-belting. in the long run that will damage a voice.

Watch Billie Holiday's performances from the 50s and Judy Garlands performances from the '60s and Ella Fitzgerald's performances from the '70s-'80s. Does that make them less great? Summer gives way to autumn at some point, after all. I am a bit disappointed that Whitney's early songs aren't getting much airplay on Gold/Oldies/Classic Hits stations; she is a good example for future artists and really beats the crap of the past decade!

...however once she gets into the tour she may get better, because she will begin to be more fit resulting in less "breathyness" so she can sustain and reach the notes better...
...but right now our poor old whitney is a shadow of her former self... ...such a shame...

We need to demand that critics give a fair review of Whitney's performances. They have made it look like every single performance sucked when everyone enjoyed it.
