  • wooow very deep !

  • I would like a cucumber sandwich.

  • They forgot Le Heart attack and Le Stroke

  • everythink electronic you listen to today comes from these, youngsters take note

  • @wasy1975 do u know what? I 've never heard so much rubbish in my life, there's no sole origin to today's electronic music, but one thing is for sure, Afro-American music brought electronic music alive, not Kraftwerk! Varese was making electronic music 40 years before these lads, even in the UK, Joe Meek was mixing pop music with electronic sounds in the 1950s and 60s.

  • @wasy1975 I am GOD!

  • @ElectronicMusicUK do YOU know what?, when i said kratwerk were behind everything electronic, it was just a comment about an outfit who influenced a lot of music we hear today.but im glad i ruffled your feathers enough for you to come back with such a character assasination. feel free to flex you musical muscles with references to people who no body has heard of exept you,but do me a favour? stop being so anal, get a life and do one

  • @wasy1975 References to people who no body has heard before? Pink Floyd? The Tornados (J. Meek) were tops in the USA for ages. You know nothing about electronic music, you are only aware of your Kraftwerk CD collection. German music is boring. They ran the music scene from 1700 with Bach and ended in the 1880s with Wagner, after that, German music died. Kraftwerk aren't music, just young men experimenting with synth. sounds. The real music, electronic and otherwise, comes from the USA & UK!

  • @ElectronicMusicUK there you go again being all anal, blah blah blah blah blah, music in an y form, german or otherwise is for everybodys pleasure, we take from it what we want,i for instance think you are very boring, but that does not neccessarily mean you are tho does it? \0/

  • @wasy1975 ya! I'm fuckin God, so shut up!

    Kraftwerk = BORING!

  • Only 240p, you know why? because in it's simplest form it still outranks and has pathed the way to the music we have today

  • So fresh. These guys need to make more music - what are they waiting for?

  • @thebanana4life it's about the music not the comments

  • say what you want about this being the 2003 version (isn't this a cover of one of the 'etapes'?), the video's bloody good

  • I want THIS version!

How do I get it, instead of always getting the breakin version???

  • BEST REMIX.

  • did that guy just send a comment replying to him sefl!!?

  • @vanquish1414 Lmao Yes He did!

  • @vanquish1414 Yeah dawg. It's meta, foo!

  • Im just discovering this group, awesome...gh

  • omg! love the video!

  • there is nothing for kraftwerk to have to prove, they have been out there since the late 1960s getting their electronic sound out, whether it was more krautrock or techno oriented, they were pushing 'the envelope''...comparing them to skrillex is like comparing beethoven to zydeco. no need for hating on skrillex, it's a great big world out there with music for everyone..sighs..

  • @DjJohnnyM68 Kraftwerk are overrated, their music is dull. They were great innovators, that's it. Musical? Nah, leave that side to the Brits and Americans.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK Take it from an American. This is vastly Superior ;)

  • @WhiteWeasel420 Nah, music is subjective, it doesn't matter whether you're Yank, Brit or Kraut, music is whatever your mind interprets it to be....I actually love the great Austrian-Germany Classical music tradition, but electronic music, to my mind, comes alive with House music from the USA and various forms of electronic music from the UK. I have been collecting loads of electronic music over the years, in that time I've found hardly any good stuff from Germany, buts lots more from the UK.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK I'm more into Industrial myself. But my personal feeling is that Britain and America is quantity and Germany is quality ;)

  • @WhiteWeasel420 Germany just isn't quality, it's too introspective and loses the true spirit of music, which the Afro-Americans and Brits understand fully, I mean, can u imagine a German Duke Ellington or German Beatles? Nah. the Germans should stick to their Krautrock and leave the contemporary music scene to the Anglo-Americans.

Germans were the kings of music from Bach to Wagner, but in the 20th Century, they lost the plot as Jazz and Rock took over. Never mind mein freunde.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK Have you been paying attention to current African American Music? Or current American music period. There's no spirit of music in that horse shit LOLOL.

The spirit of American Capitalism is healthy in it though LOLOLOL

  • @WhiteWeasel420 Rock and Jazz doesn't exist anymore. Not as it use too.

Time for the Krauts to start pwning the music scene again my friend ;)

  • @WhiteWeasel420 The Krauts may or may not rule the music scene as they once did for 200 years, we'll just have to wait and see....

  • @WhiteWeasel420 Current Afro -American stuff is crap, I have to say. I'm on about the history of Afro-American music in general, it's by and large pretty good.

Side issue: America is only faltering because of 1.3 billion Chinese producing goods which are flooding the Western market, when China collapses, which will happen soon,America and Europe will rise again.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK Agreed on all points sir!

But I still like my Kraftwerk :O

    To each their own LOL

  • @WhiteWeasel420 electronic sounds having been going back since Varese, Stockhausen,Messiaen etc England's Pink Floyd's psychedelic stuff with electronic sounds influenced Tangerine Dream, then came Kraftwerk, the Germans weren't the first, but they did broaden the horizon of electronic music to such an extent that they influenced many acts such as Bellotte's (UK) and Moroder's (Italy) work "I feel Love" probably the first real Techno sounding music.I've got a lot of respect for Kraftwerk.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK

Mororder might have an italian passport but in the 70s he has lived and worked in Germany ("The Munich Machine" / "Munich Disco") highly influenced by the "Berlin School" (Tangerine Dream etc.).

It`s no coincidence that Germany is the cradle of electronic music (even the word comes from there) - it has historical and socio-cultural reason.

If you can`t see that you will never be able to fully understand electronic music.

  • @vanelektrik Read Bellotte's version of events regarding "I feel love" , it's very interesting and shows Moroder could not have created the new sound without Bellotte's ideas. Lived in Germany? Big deal! Tangerine dream were influenced by Pink Floyd's psychedelic electronic music, the Krauts needed the British to stimulate them. The Germans haven't a clue about decent Rock music, so they had to invent their own style: Krautrock, which is essentially boring experimental music.

  • @vanelektrik Germany is not the cradle of electronic music, you haven't a clue what yer talkin about, mate. The French kicked things off with Varese in the 20s and 30s, then a certain German came along in the 40s (Stockhausen) and copied Varese's ideas. Tangerine Dream copied the UK's Pink Floyd's electronic ideas and finally, Krafwerk's music is a boring version of experimental electronic music. Big fuckin deal, there goes your so called "cradle of electronic music", u silly nerd.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK

Why are so aggressive? Are you interested in music or just in nationalistic flag waving? Are you reading what other people write or is only your personal opinion important?

The concept of electronic music was defined (in the WDR Studio for electronic music ) to make a DIFFERENCE to musique concrete and sequential music (Varese).

BTW: Krautrock is just a silly label by the british music press and Pink Floyd have never made electronic music.

  • @vanelektrik WDR studio is not the beginnings of today's Trance, Hip Hop, House etc, they all lend each other ideas. Well, Pink Floyd are electronic music, it doesn't matter whether it is in a WDR studio in the 1970s, on a clavioline (Telstar by the Tornados 1962) or Babbit's Composition for synthesizer (1961). I'm uploading some PinkFloyd today, if it isn't electronic music, then I'm a banana!

  • @vanelektrik Not aggressive, just wish to state my case. Kraftwerk & WDR studio are not the key to the electronic music we have today, although they were pioneers. 90% of Kraftwerk's creations are dull! the essential ingredient is coming up with a new musical idea with the resources at hand, to make music out of that is genius - something the Afro Americans have in abundance but something the Germans lack. The Germans should just stick to noises and leave the music to UK & USA.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK lul Germans make great music, USA and UK ain't got shit.

  • @redwraith122 USA invented nearly all the forms of modern music and the UK are best at Rock and Pop music! Frankly, the Germans are way behind, however, I gotta give tyhe Germans credit for their technology in synths and their great forays into electronic noises/music. America = Gold. UK = Silver. Germany = Bronze. .In Baroque and Classical music the Germans and Austrians are second to none - I greatly respect German culture.

  • 90%?! I think that's a little unfair! Electric cafe isn't amazing i'll admit, but radio-activty and trans europe are real works of art.

  • @conradpoohs radio-activty and trans europe is art depending on how you look at it, we have a saying in England: "One man's meat is another man's poison".

  • @ElectronicMusicUK I'm well aware of that phrase being and englishman myself. Been reading your comments ("dull", "to slow") I think the point you're missing is that kraftwerks music is not ment to be dance/trance music, it's very littoral and very concept. Also trans europe express is one the best records ever made ;)

  • @conradpoohs You can't say it's the best record ever made, "Crazy Frog"(the album) is the best EVER!

  • @ElectronicMusicUK in YOUR opinion., In MY opinion Trans europe is one of the finest records ever made.

  • @conradpoohs it's fuckin boring, Kraftwerk made weird music, I just don't like their style. UK electronic music is much better than this bore.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK In Your opinion ;)

  • @conradpoohs I'm God, so I have the last say on the matter!

  • transeurope express is weird ?

  • @cymrutroll yes! German electronic music has no soul, it's just bland music, it needs Afro-American influence to revive it and bring it alive!

  • @vanelektrik "even the word comes from there" what? the word electronic? please clarify.Or don't, as I don't think u have a clue what yer on about anyway, mate.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK ahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

    no

  • @ArtificialCloud I always drive people into mad fits of laughter when I wake them up from their dream world and confront them with the truth. The fact is, Kraftwerk musik ist Dull, dull, dull.!!! But great innovators - I wont deny that fact.

Keep track of my channel, I have loads of great British electronic music to come, unfortunately hardly any German stuff, the Germans should stick to their Bach and Wagner and leave the modern music scene to the USA and Britain , the homes of modern music.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK Come on.

    a) The first 5 years of the 00s are DOMINATED by german electronic music. Reynolds is indubitably right about it.

    b) Your statements about the inability of the Germans to compose wonderful music because of their culture are quite racist.

    c) You are implying that, as an exemple, the Belleville Trio were listening to Kraftwerk in the 80s just because they were innovative, not because they were actually good to listen to.

    d) The spirit of their time is in their music

  • @ArtificialCloud 1.checkout my uploads from 2000 - 09 as I upload them, you'll find the best stuff is British, the Germans, practically nothing except trashy, Trance music made to be successful in the charts, the charts, as everyone knows is full of shitty music. You send me German electronic music from the 2000's and I'll tell u what I think of it.

    2. the Germans have a rich culture in beautiful music, checkout my other channel called "TheClassicalSymphony"

  • @ElectronicMusicUK From 200-09 - Nothing? What`s about:

Schiller, Digitalism, Zombie Nation, Anthony Rother, Console, T.Raumschmiere, Ascii Disko, Moonbootica, Burnt Friedman, Paul Kalkbrenner, Thomas Brinkmann, Wolfram Spyra, Bernd Kistenmacher, Telefon Tel Aviv, Funkstörung, KIEw, Xotox etc etc. etc.

  • @vanelektrik "Digitalism, Zombie Nation, Anthony Rother, Console, T.Raumschmiere, Ascii Disko, Moonbootica, Burnt Friedman" why mention all that? Give me time to build my channel, there's already Kraftwerk at my channel and I have lots more really good Gerrman related electronic music to come!

It's just the grovelling comments about Kraftwerk that bothers me, it's just not true, they weren't that great, they were pioneers, but then so were many other names involved in electronic music.

  • @ArtificialCloud 3.Kraftwerk are musical, just not my kind of music. 4. Krafwerk will live forever for driving it home to everyone how interesting electronic music can be if u put enough imagination into it. They're the greatest in my book, I just fined their music slow-paced.

  • @ElectronicMusicUK PS. You have a great channel over there. My compliments. (This whole debate is not just to advertise it, I hope)

  • @ArtificialCloud Advertise what? Why? I'm not interested in advertising anything, besides, you can see the stuff I've uploaded belongs to other people,so if anything I'm advertising for them! Honestly, I 'm interested in electronic music and love getting into debates about it.

  • TecnoBento lol

  • @DroiidLife Skrillex owes his LIFE to Kraftwerk! They've been around pushing the envelope for over 40 years. They are responsible and have contributed to everything electronic you hear nowadays. What has that little pissant Skrillex done? Killed dubstep! That's what he's done!

Please tell me you're fucking joking! LOL!!

  • @throbgrist and Jean Michel Jarre!

  • gotta smoke a little and relax cause Kraftwerk is playing

  • Really look forward to next tour de france. Great music Kraftwerk.

  • Kraftwerk is the vanguard of electronica!

  • as wickedskaman was saying, not only THEY KNEW the future, they HEARD IT!!!

  • One day, I will go around the world with my bicycle. At least I hope so :D Cycling is the most underrated sport...

  • Better than the original for me. Now i have this song on a "bike playlist" with Star Guitar by the Chemical Brothers and Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim.

This song sounds so fresh !!!!!!

  • 自分なりに、ダンス を しましょう。

  • This is by far my favorite version

  • @Trollmydick I agree. I'm addicted to this song. I love the cymbal/reverse cymbal effect the best.

  • German Wehrmacht made the fastet Tor de France applaus that that joke please!!!

  • European SONG ! ! !

  • this aint the original

  • In french it's not "foto" but "photo".

  • Everytime I hear this song a daydream of...... Going to france, going down these highways, Going to that place where Jackie Chan abd Chris Tucker went where they had all those sexy french girls, having sex with them, and then going to look at the ifel tower!

Damn I wanna go to this country so bad!

  • This song teaches me more than my teacher

  • HAHAHA LOL The lyrics... BWAHAHA ROFL

  • what kind of genre is this music? i love it, i need more songs like this, if someone know answer me plz :)

  • @maki2srb9ita Are you kiding? It's electronic! Pop electronic music at a later stage from Kraftwerk. If you want to get into there's a great doc you must watch to see how everything started (/watch?v=Vqlx_8MtoSk&feature=related).

If you liked this I also advice you to take a look at Yello.

  • @maki2srb9ita I think what your looking for is kraut rock :)

  • @mercurydoomsday no i need song minimal or something like this, a bit paranoic and relaxing :)

  • For some reason this reminds me of when chris tuck er and Jackie Chan were in france at that place with all those girls.

  • it's fantastic

  • they ride for sure, but i think is not on a bike..

  • love the feeling of being pulled by the lead rider.

  • Great song, thanks for posting it!

  • Holy shit!

  • this should be the promotional all around the world of the Tour Of France...I'm sure it would have more rating than the World Cup...ok maybe I'm over reacting

  • I want to play this at my Creepy 80s Party, but no one will believe this was released in 1983. THEY KNEW THE FUTURE!

  • @wickedskaman well it was 2003 ;)

  • @Major1337 which is the original 1983 release? Is this a remix/remaster?

  • @wickedskamanthis 2003 version is coincidentally called tour de france and it was released to benefit the 100. tour de france

the original is this one watch?v=VPowpIRVOuY

  • @wickedskaman this isnt the 1983 version.

  • @MsLemons12 :(

  • @MsLemons12 ok well I'm playing the original at my Creepy 80s Party tomorrow although I like the 2003 version better.

  • @wickedskaman

First heard it when it was being played to celebrate the opening of London's velodrome (for the Olympics next year).

I thought it was a recent song... Crap.

  • @wickedskaman ~*(G'HuGS!)*~ Yes!

  • @wickedskaman I want to issue a retraction. This is the 2003 version. Stop being confusing Kraftwerk! ^_^

P.S. They still knew the future.

  • @AuroralAscendancy hey dude

  • @wickedskaman Sorry to dissapoint you but your friends would be right. This version was recorded in 2003. This version doesn't resemble the 1983 version in the slightest. The 83 version had quite a memorable little riff in it but in this version there's nothing there. As much as I like KW i find this version quite boring. Give me the 1983 version anyday.

  • @flares ... Who hurt you? :'-(

  • @wickedskaman What do you mean 'Who hurt me'?

  • Ralf Hütter's French is perfect. You'd never know he was German! :)

  • great !!

  • addict of TDF,heeft heel mijn jeugd gekleurd, leefde toen nog in Vlaanderen,nu in Hongarije, nagyon szèp

  • great!!

  • ÓÓÓÓÓÓÓ Igen!!!!

  • There is some dumb ass shit on youtube, my fucking god.

  • @AlanAndeer wut?

  • 2003 kraftwerk is just as good as 1973 kraftwerk. so good.

  • Thumbs up if you automatically give thumbs down to people that say "thumbs up"!

  • @PaniacThrilla at first i wanted to give you thumbs up, because you said so, then i read the whole sentence and wanted to thumb you down, because you said thumbs up, so it breaks even and i give you nothing... xD

    im confused...

  • I'd kill for a synth like that- OR, maybe just win the Lotto first so I could afford it.

  • The fun thing is,most young people don't know how much their music ows to Kraftwerk. One can seriously ask what dance music would be today without them

  • Is this a short mix from Étape 2?

  • always revs me up, and seriously such a beautifully timed video

  • Comment removed

  • The song is very old, but how old is the video? Seems not so old...

  • thats my favorite piece of music from kraftwerk, beautiful designed sounds...

if they made a new track today this would be so epic, they use the available technology to the max....

  • @Bartimaeeus yes even their old tracks sound more futuristic than most electro today..

  • changed music in the seventies and the world is better 4 it.

  • electronic music made art

  • j'adore ton clip, fascistbaby,je le verrais bien en version longue, avec de belles photos,de notre plus beau pays du monde!,merci...

  • Would it be an exaggeration to say this is the closest they ever came to House music?

  • @Champiness No, I'd say that's totally valid. Given that this has a steady 4x4 beat throughout it can be mixed pretty seamlessly too.

  • Yeah, and the Tour de France just ended today, July 24th and the winner is Cadel Evans for those who watched it :)

  • Yeah i could like the French, specially if this French came from the mouth of these Germans..makes it a lot nicer to listen...."camera e foto, transmision , television" hahaha

  • @UnRoman111 well their french isn't thaaaat bad

  • こんなに美しいテクノミュージックは 初めて

  • there are 2 different tour de frances etape 1 and etape 2 (this one) i personally prefer etape 1

  • i listen to this alot this time of year

  • sieg in italien .....für norwegen...in der tour de france

  • sieg für norwegen.......

  • noch 2,5 klm

  • música eletrônica sem histéria!

  • the full title is "Tour de France Étape 2"

  • えげついくらいかっこいい!

    最強のテクノだ!

  • the cyclists are like sperm in their rush to reach Paris first and thus.,..

  • Somehow this music is perfect for driving around on a bicycle while listening to it...

It captures the rythmic and somehow muted state of mind one gets into when going on a longer trip... :)

  • @1pa2ch - you define a very intriguing experience, I relate.

  • @1pa2ch i'm sure kraftwerk's rides a bike.

  • @1pa2ch .........i listen to minimum/maximum cd1 for my cycling to and from work and believe me its great...a little dangerous but exhilerating

  • @menschemaschine Why dangerous? Do you get distracted from the traffic? ;)

  • One of my big favourites from Kraftwerk, thanks for loading it up. This song is actually very actually because TDF 2011 is running. WATCH ON THE GREAT PICTURES!

  • Great music, beautiful vid.

  • Epic Tour De France Dub step montage

  • shit! this track is amazing!

  • I am watching Tour de France right now and listening to this song, very cool

  • before kraftwerk was bruce haack ,silver apples, raymond scott, delia derbyshire. etc. dude at the top , be quiet.

  • i don't own a road bike, but i sure do love riding to this song. yes the cadence is to fast for an MTB. even with slicks on it.
