  • SP locos always had that distinct "whine" as they passed.

  • @RichmanJ93 That was an EMD thing, one of the things that make EMD power sound so musical!

  • @RichmanJ93 Til this day I wonder why that was.

  • And six axles on a local when SP ran things? Nothin' new to me, never see a 4 axle job regularly on the Blitz!

  • SP had some of the most innovative locomotives on it's roster, most which stayed on the roster until the end of it's life or end of passenger operations. I'm one who models SP Passenger Trains. but this is good but short recording, good job.

  • What really sucks ass, looks wise, is the FRA mandated yellow reflective tape on the lower sills.

  • i miss the southern pacific. i wish the SPSF merger had been approved, the BNSF and UP paint schemes suck ASS!!! at least we still have model trains to set up what we think the railroads should look like......

  • how old is this? wasnt that 1st one a GP-60? i may be wrong.

  • You are correct, GP60 leading!

  • You are correct, the first one was a Cotton Belt GP60.

  • I sure miss the sound of the old ones when they are runnin up hill wound up tighter than a wad of rubber bands and that traction motor whine!

  • Great videos of Burbank JCT. I used to ride my bicycle there on summer days back in the late 70's. The clerk (Jim as I recall) would let me hang the train orders on the post for the passing freights. The last time I looked, the old signal office had been removed. Great times!

  • damn that sucker was gettin it!

  • Very nice...nothing like seeing a SP/SSW GP60 with the strobe on and running at track speed!!!!!!!!

  • bonita toma...good video

  • Super video !!!!!!

  • god he's rollin', get some!

  • yep coast line it is

  • Im guessing this is on the Coast Line because by the looks of the landscape it isnt in the Central Valley north of Bakersfield

  • If this train is a local then why is there two 6 axle units helping out the Cotton Belt GP60 instead of 3 more GP60s?

  • The Chatsworth trains would originate out of Taylor yard and travel to Gemco yard, about 12 miles away. So anything that was going to be in LA for a short while was used.

  • i see

  • Sweet video
