God bless this video! Thank you for sharing this. The minute I opened my eyes to this cruelty in February (ironically by reading "The Omnivore's Dilemna" by Michael Pollen who does not promote vegetarianism) I went vegan in all areas of my life. I always struggled with a sense of guilt/ambiguity around food and I could never quite put my finger on it. I began to read about our environment, our animals, and our food and now I understand where it all came from.
Look, I eat meat, but locking animals in a cage like that is just wrong. I believe God provided animals for mankind's benefit, but not for him to abuse, mistreat, or waste. Personally I respect the hunter gather lifestyle the most as it gives the animal the most chance of survival in its own natural habitat. I didn't know most meat in america came from places like that, now I just gotta figure out where the meat I eat comes from & if possible, change that.
Who cares, honestly, why do bible thumping toss pot losers keep posting crap like this? Do you think its going to change how I, or the rest of world feels? I just ate a chicken for dinner tonight, and last Sunday I had a nice beef roast.
Oh and btw, I do know about the cruelty that exists in factory farming. I know, and I don't care, because I am human! King of the food chain. I have an opposable thumbs and that, gives me the right.
Even if people think God gave us animals to eat (although I know he didn't) there's no way they can believe he ever wanted them to be treated this way.
Sadly the Church doesn't seem to care about God's creatures. We should be preaching the Good News (Gospel) to all creatures as Mark 16:15 states: "Go out and preach the Gospel to ALL CREATION" which includes animals.
Someday we will be held accountable for every creature as Hebrews 4:13 states.
If we think we can do such things to our fellow creatures with impunity we cannot. All we need do is open our eyes and be critically aware.
Look at the philosophic trends of human resources where now we are the production units. Look at the health care industry. Look at our financial sectors, our business models. Look at human trafficking.
From a religious perspective, Satan wants humans to stay uneducated about their health & how their food is produced, so the suffering of God's creatures can continue.
If you're eating an animal-centered typical western diet, you're eating a toxic diet that's going to eventually cause UNNECESSARY diseases. The western diet also inflicts horrific cruelty to animals that come from intensive factory farms. In a religious term that most westerns can identify with, SATAN is behind the deception of the typical western diet. Satan wants you sick and thinks it's great that humans are cruel to God's creatures!
@julievegggie i certainly don't disagree with you on that account. Satan is behind a lot, but I am confident that God can lead. Look, I'm trying to follow after Jesus. I'm not perfect, but last week a preacher was saying something about this, & it had been on my mind. This week a random youtuber I made friends with who didn't know I was in the church sent me this video. What more can I say, this is incredible.
Most churches do not teach to their congregation to be kind to God's creatures but there are many biblical passages that support this notion. It's blasphemy to be cruel to God's animals and to support the industries that inflict such horrific pain & suffering on to the animals.
I completely agree that factory farms are utterly atrocious! If you showed the average person a video of what goes on in a factory farm-- all that truly goes on, he or she will probably turn off the video because it's so disgusting. If we had to kill animals ourselves I can guarantee that huge quantities of people would be vegetarian. That being said I don't think this video should have focused so much on the Christian calling to not promote factory farms. It demeans everyone else.
Its a very well made video but it only puts out the crule factories n saying that we should not eat meat. i dont agree with this. yes the animals should be treated kindly and not in this discusting way but to say that we should not eat meat at all is wrong. I love animals and i like to eat meat. to say that im wrong is just wrong. to say that eating something that was alive is discusting then they shouldnt be eating at all, since plants were alive at one point.
god, u all cry bout it and im sure every single one of u buys food items from the local store, cooks them and goes on youtube and cries about animal cruelty.
and the really sick images and videos of animals being tortured and such, its just propaganda really, factory farming aint like that..
FALSE! The clips from this video aren't just from one or two "bad" factory farms - it is an industry standard! Get educated about the farms first, please!
Proverbs 12:10 - 'The righteous man cares for the life of his beast, but the compassion of the wicked is cruel.' --- Thank you for making this video. The Christian church needs to share this information in their bulletins. Their congregation needs to know how to be a good steward to God's animals.
I'm so glad the HSUS helped get Prop 2 passed in California, but the fact that it took Americans so long, was such a fight, and the practices still continue in the other 49 states, is a national disgrace. Especially shameful is how we Americans are spreading those cruel practices to the rest of the world. So. like smoking, about the time they're finally made illegal here, those same factory farms will be spread across the rest of the world thanks to us. Way to go, USA. Makes ya proud, huh?
No doubt, my vegan lifestyle was brought about by knowledge of factory farming in my 30s, but as a wee child I knew that I shouldn't be eating someone's flesh. It had nothing to do with religion. It was simply common sense. Huge production facility or small operation, it matters not. Look in your mouth. Your teeth aren't carnivorous. The strongest animals on the planet that pulled your plows and wagons don't eat flesh, they eat plants. Mercy? More important - common sense.
@askalice50 What about our 4 canine teeth? They're there to help us consume meat. The primates which are most closely related to humans are omnivorous. The fact that some animals have evolved to be strong through herbivore diets is rather irrelevant. Common sense to me would be eating a diet which we have evolved on, which would include meat. The choice not to should be personal and not preached and forced into people's lives. Awareness of where our food comes from is a different issue.
Super video!! I'm so glad this was made. I look forward to passing it on to others. I like what the minister said about being merciful to animals. If we want to live in a merciful, compassionate, peaceful world, then shouldn't we be merciful, compassionate, and non-violent to others, including animals? In our interactions with humans and animals, might does not make right. I believe it is wise and good to treat others as we would like to be treated. We must be the change we wish to see. Peace!
I agree...the religious information should have been left out of this video for it to have the most impact. Look past that though...and just see the suffering that the poor animals endure just so we can eat more chicken wings or hamburgers. Is is worth it?? Does something need to suffer and die a miserable death just so we can continue to over-indulge ourselves with food that is ultimately not good for us anyway??? The answer is no.
Praise God! Animals are not just a commodity! I wish they would have gone into more of why eating the factory farmed animals is UNHEALTHY, but I'm glad they addressed the issue of factory farming cruelty! I should say that I'm loving my Morning Star meatless patty, and know that I'm not causing suffering!
Now this is an intelligent, well-made video. I eat meat and can appreciate a more humane approach to supplying that need. They did lose some credibility when they bring religion into the argument. The facts and videos make the case, leave the religious stuff out.
