@chrisychris2 - Without knowing more about you, your experience with dogs, what your lifestyle is and what you wish to do with your dog it is impossible to answer you. I'd suggest you visit our forum and ask the question there for an in-depth conversation on this very important topic. Thx for the comment on the video too!
New! Want to audition for Cesar Millan The Dog Whisperer? I've written a "how-to" article that goes with this video. Go to our site for the step by step instructions!
My Swissy hates the heat! When we bring him up North to our vacation home he is a different dog. Running and jumping in the snow while our 2 rotties curl up by the fire. He LOVES the snow!!! My friends moved to FL w/theirs and he was miserable. FYI
@bluestingerborg We had such a sw. gr.mountain dog until last year when he died. In the summer time, when it was hot he went to the coolest room in the house. Hot in summer means 25 to 33 degr.centigr.(Southern Bavaria) To give him relieve we had his fur shortened all over his body and he was a bit easier then. He - like many of this and other big breeds had joint problems. We would have never made him pull a cart.
Too funny! I think are swissy's are from the same litter (LOL). Our female does the same thing with her new wagon. Once she gets going she is fine; with the exception of jack rabbit type starts. We are working on it. Hope your big guy has it figured out by now.
what a beautiful horse & dog. i love swissy's! the duck was cracking me up though. i liked your video, i hope that you can work things out with the dog. :c)
Nice video, 5*. But I think your swissy will never win a chariot race :-) We have a female swissy and she escorts my wife at horseriding. In Switzerland this breed was a typical farm dog. A strong worker, dear to children and to other animals and an excellent guard. I hope you will not butch and eat this funny goose. Greetings from Kiel, Germany, near Denmark.

Just out of curiousity. Do you think these breeds can tollerate Florida heat?

You should contact a reputable breeder or perhaps the AKC website for the answer.

Oh, it was not my Peking duck. I hope it is still doing well. It had a great personality.

Thank you! The duck (not mine though) is a Peking. Every Swissy I've met is very sweet.
Thanks again for the nice comment - take care!
