I think it´s important for people to say goodbye in case they´re dying. He wanted to believe her. He needed to. People often live in faith vicariously through other people. In this case, most of Luke's faith was based on Peyton's promise. She was so sure in 6.17 that she'd make it. And the baby kicking was also a sign :P

So luke refused to believe that he'd lose Peyton - he didn't dare think of it after 6.17.

Yea I agree....and Lucas is right..I also believe ppl have so much more power than we realize over ourselves and life. I think ppl can have anything in life and do anything if they really want. I think if someone fights and reallly puts all of their soul and mental energy, they can live. A lot of things are very mental in my opinion, that's why even doctors ...etc..talk about staying positive and attitude and fight. Our minds control our reality and our body and our lives.
