  • i..just...spechless. so beautifully composed. it works so well. red are amazing, and so are tool, and so is Hurt. why do people need to feel the urge to compare? to find some flaw to justify their whiny little voices? time to grow up, time to stop acting like girls bitching about each other. just listen, appreciate.

  • i come here everyday to listen to this song.. makes me think on how much i have grown and how much more i need to grow.. beautiful tune...

  • Hurt is just an amazing band period. No one on earth sounds like them and no one can even attempt to try. Every song has a meaning. Some people get it, some people don't. They are in fact my favorite band of all time. OF ALL TIME.

  • Such a beautiful song <3

  • So in <3 with HURT.

  • vol 2 is an album i can always go back to and listen to. it will always hold memories of when i was 13-15. and this track is breath taking.

  • 165 people know what real music is!!

  • THE BEST MOTHERFUCKING ROCK BAND TO EVER GRACE OUR EARS, OUR HEARTS AND SOULS!!! CAN'T NO BODY SAY SHIT HURTS IS A SIGN OF THE END. MUSIC HAS NEVER SOUNDED SO CLOSE TO PERFECTION . YO J.LOREN HURRY THE FUCK UP SIR WITH THAT NEW SHIT PLZ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • If someone tells your Hurt is like *Insert band name here*. Please slap them and politely remind them no one is like Hurt.

  • Is Aftermath a second part to Ten Ton Brick? I realised the other week that the last note of it bleeds into the opening distorted chord of this song. Aftermath is the following song in the album, and I'm not to sure if Hurt did it because the songs are connected, or because they wanted it to flow more nicely between songs. I thought it could be connected considering the epic, thrashy, and climactic nature of that song, and the title of this - "Aftermath".

  • @Humbuckers12 I think Aftermath is meant to be second part of the Ten Ton Brick. Also, the name of the song is Aftermath, so it is Aftermath of Ten Ton Brick... IMHO.

  • <33333

  • Love this band they are amazing

  • two people are listening to lil wayne

  • how can anyone dislike this video? it is so beautifully done. i have been watching this video just about 2 years now. only this video with this song theres others but this video... oh my god it brings out the passion, the power, it brings everything out. thank you @myalias111

  • nin tool red stone sour etc etc < HURT.

  • as amazing as hurt is, please do not use Red and Tool in the same sentence. Tool is easily just as musically gifted as Hurt. Red is garbage and will not be remembered in 10 years.

  • @misingjanuary: It's nice to see someone who knows their band/music trivia offer somethin to say, rather than just mindless nonsense for a change. I love it. Good shit. Hurt was the first original band I'd heard fro years in the earlier 2000s. So it's awesome to see someone who actually knows where they truly come from. Outstanding, my friend, outstanding.

  • 2:16 HOLY SHIT ...that scarred the crap out of me... lmao

but i love this band sooo much :)

  • Comment removed

  • yeah...so original

even though I find something similar to "TOOL", a very original band too

  • i just know a few songs for this band and i want the best songs form them ........whichs songs are the best....???????

  • this song epitomizes my last cry for help

  • J you are amazing we talked online before. Love this song

  • Beautiful song...one of my favs from Hurt!

  • Amazing. Simply put. Yeah OF coarse it's not for everybody. When you're down n whatnot, its good to listen to depressed sounding music because it seems like it "understands you" and you are able to think a little clearer. idk, that's my 2 cents.

  • The band serves as a reminder of what we're doing to OURSELVES.

  • A lot of what hurt sings about is true though. Look at all the people in this world. There is a LOT of hurt. People dying, getting torchered, losing loved ones. We are more sinister to ourselves than any "satan" can wish to be. Our enemy is ourselves.

The band wants us to know this; hence their name.

  • huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurt

  • Ugh, yeah, stop comparing Tool and Hurt, they are not even remotely similar to eachother other than the fact that they convey emotion in such a way that few other bands can even come close to... Personally I prefer Tool, but they give different feelings and sometimes one is more appropriate. For me, Hurt drags me down with Lohren and i feel like i want to die, but with Tool, i get an almost enlightened feeling. Two very opposing feelings... Not even remotely similar, other than amazing

  • Tool rocks... hope they make another album soon.

  • NIN yeah also Staind, Staind were a big influence it seems

  • yeah, i agree... it's almost like he's on the edge and this is his last plea... especially:

"Cast shadows to their gloom and i still dream of your perfume..."

like the woman he loves is slipping from him...

There are no bands like this one, my friends. These guys are it to me <3

  • ...It almost sounds like I can hear him hurting, and pleading. This one tugs at my heart.

  • When will the comparisons stop? These guys bleed originality. He was classically trained on the violin, barred from listening to rock music, and made to memorize the bible cover to cover! Loren lives this music everyday whether he likes it or not.... Lets just say the trained ear knows the difference between Hurt and Tool and Red (which are both great bands). Apples and oranges my friends, apples and oranges.

  • ^^well said

  • @misingjanuary another hurt fan after my own heart, glad u know this band for who they are, real people with real souls and real love for their art

  • @misingjanuary

Tool is surely less melodic and songs are less structured than Hurt's

It's more progressive and strange...Hurt are more melodic and a little more commercial but, the same, fucking original

He is a music god in my opinion

  • @misingjanuary A - FREAKIN - MEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @misingjanuary That's the first time I've heard Hurt compared to Red or Tool ... Their stuff is amazingly original.

  • wow. theres a few songs i know that when i hear them for the first time they blow me away & it doesn't change no matter how many times i hear it. this song is the newest addition to it

  • this sounds alot like NIN stuff from the fragile..

  • This is officaly one of my favorite bands. This fan made video rules. I love it.

  • they should be absolutely faaaamous but they're not ... someone care to explain why???? =(

  • because shit music = popularity. you have listened to the radio recently haven't you? it is disgusting.

  • Shit and popularity are not synonymous. You're an idiot.

  • it's hard have a lot of views

  • who cares how famous they are as long as someone who enjoys their music can listen to it.

if u wanna hear songs like this look up the band "Red"

  • Angel eyes... sweet love of mine... come back to me

  • One of the best & most original band out there, they are simply heart touching. These guys rock,

  • Hurt and nine inch nails are two of my fav bands. To discredit either of them regardless of who you prefer shows me you have no knowledge of music. For one, they're both completely different genres of rock, and Hurt sounds nothing like nin. Just because they add piano doesn't mean they got a Reznor craze. And nine inch nails, in my opinion is a far superior band, listen to the albums Downward Spiral and The Fragile, along with Still, and I'm sure you can agree. My opinion tho
  • Guess this means you have no knowledge of music then right? could have sworn you just tried to compare Hurt and NIN. LOL no worries though... We're all gonna die right?

  • seriously they are nothing like that gay ass band NIN

if anything they remind me of tool or stone sour

  • @MADmentality Bad.

    Just no.

    and Stone sour really?

Hurt may as well have their own Genre their my all time favorite band, and I love tool and Nine inch nails (so again Bad.) and stone sour but Hurt trumps it all

  • this is so beautiful..

  • Who made this video?

  • the ending to this song is amazing

  • great song...I remember listening to them when thay didn't even had an album out, now to see how big they are is just amazing!

  • they aren't even close to as big as they should be.

  • damn straight

  • Huge NIN fan, and I noticed the argument regarding this song and la mer. I'll agree it's similar but it's not the same. They didn't steal the song or anything. I'm a fan of both bands, and to me I saw it as a plus to be honest to see that similarity.

Hurt hasn't reached the status that NIN has, they're still a great band though.

  • lead singer sounds similar the the vocalist of the band 'live'

    though slightly better.

  • lorens coice is much stronger.

  • This video is pretty kick ass.

  • "Come back to me, though so far away.."

    Just stunning.

  • it would be beautiful with an violin from 2.18 to the end.

  • brilliant job

  • at the first seconds it sounds like Ten Ton Brick

  • that's this part two of a story, and the two songs go into each oyher. Ten Ton Brick is track 2 and Aftermath is track 3 on Vol.II

  • i love how all the songs on the album go into each other... aftermath->abuse of sid -> alone with the sea

  • Why does every band have to be compared to predecessors. Let them all stand on their own. HURT is NOT TOOL. But so what? Why is it that we have to compare HURT to TOOL? You see that's the main problem in itself. Rather than enjoying the music, we spend way too much time comparing bands to one another. I love TOOl, but I also can appreciate the music of HURT as well, so sue me.

  • yea i wouldnt compare them, they exert different emotions and generally play different styles of music although im sure others will argue with me on that

i personally prefer tool as i prefer their faster pace and heavier tones

  • hurt is nothing like tool, fucking idiots and trying to say they are "mimicing, looking up to, or wanna be tool" shut up, Tool is great yes, hurt is next level, J is a person who knows what there doing and isn't doing it for HIM, his music intertwines, reflexs its self, shows what people really are,

  • I think they should do a version of this song where J loren just plays the song with his violin. He makes the violin sing and its so damn beautiful. I love HURT and everything that I have heard them do and That's A lot!

  • shows what people can do, what people wont due, dumb people and there saying everyone is like everyone.... thesidinator says tool, i says hurt is a band that shows EVERYONE has felt what they speak of... J speaks the truth in every word and it crushes anyone who dares to listen... there is second part of comment

  • What are the artists names?

  • Comment removed

  • The Band? "Hurt" Duh!

  • This song makes me sick. Not in a bad way for the song, just too much bad memories

  • i love this song i really cant stop listen it

    :(

  • I'm a fucking die hard fan of Hurt

And this song is one of my faves along with Summers Lost and Overdose and Dirty.

I can't get over the end of this song. EVERY TIME I HEAR IT. It just gets to me. It's amazing.

  • I love Tool and A Perfect Circle, but Hurt are doing nothing for me.

  • I think this is a very sweet song and J.Loren has an amazing voice.

  • it's pretty awesome..

  • Omg I just noticed you put pictures of edelweiss at the very beginning on the title screen.

I watch this video all the time and it still rocks out.

  • idk wtf they are talking about, NIN blows.. had one ok song, what you are.

  • Excellent video, surprised you only have 3,000 views.

    5/5

  • Interesting video.

God I hate the jackasses running at the mouth about Hurt. These guys are talented, skilled. If they're influenced by another band isn't that called respect? It's not them being copiers or wannabes. And maybe it's not even that, maybe it's just this thing about music being as old as man itself and most of this shit's been done before. Prolly all of it has. Get some goddamn respect and have enough maturity to acknowledge talent where you see it. Kthnx Bai.

  • Especially seeing as 98% of bands in the metal/rock industry have been influenced by one band or another.. It's stupid not to take some ofthe idea's of another successfull band.. That just makes yours better. Hurt 4 life Enough said.

  • niiiiiiiiice! ;)

Did ya know that the one and only band that HAS actually influenced J. is PEARL JAM!?

  • thats a really cool video

  • Another great video, myalias! Shame the song's so short. You should pair it with Abuse of Sid.

  • I'm going to see them this Sunday. Just Hurt playing at a local club. I cant wait.

  • what a wonderful video :D i have acouple u should chekc um out :D

  • Hurt is nothing like NIN, one very small part may sound like another song but believe, Hurt and NIN are very different in so many ways.

Hurt blows NIN off the map.

  • yes Hurt and NIN are very different, but Hurt in no way shape or form has the capabilities to "blow NIN off the map." If i actually have to explain to you why Hurt isnt even on the same tier as NIN, you havent listened to The Downward Spiral.

    and i mean the album.

  • That junkie trent reznor is'nt half as good as hurt, The "teen angst" age where he used to be cool are over and everyone has already grown out of "NIN". NIN does'nt even COMPARE to HURT.

  • wow i mean just wow and a person with a name like i hate u 4 real can comment about "teen angst" growup and know when your listening to talent ie Trent and HURT which is more run of the mill metal....

  • Hurt isn't metal in the least. But that is beside the point, NIN are good to an extent, but if you can honestly believe that Trent has more lyrical or musical talent and intuition than this group, you need to have your head examined.

  • HAHA good joke

  • Ihateu4real, yes, I've grown fond of the name.

But I know music. And I know talent.

Don't try to challenge me, little man. This up and coming band has made their mark in the industry and your boy Trent has lost his place. Even with a name like mine, I can still hear, mon ami ;)

  • HAHA that made me chuckle a bit

  • i love the name. lol. i think its fuckin kool.

  • I agree! go hurt =)

  • haha, what are you talking about? both NIN and HURT are my favorit bands!! on my i pod, that's all i have. i'm not even joking. on my DS, i've scratched in "NIN" and "HURT".they both have their hard songs that make you wanna break something. and they have their slow, sad, touching songs that make you regret and cry so much. they're both awesome bands. both of them.

  • or maybe YOU haven't actually really listened to HURT!!! or seen them at a LIVE show? where NOBODY can top them! I find it hard to believe that ANY BAND EVER could be better than HURT - the music, the MUSICIANSHIP, the lyrics, the vocals, the EMOTION - yeah - it just doesn't get any better than HURT...

  • look up the nine inch nails "beside you in time" live videos and the "still" performances. then come back and talk to me.

  • #1 - you can't compare a fan-made video with a band's official video release. I'm just talking about the music.

and music? I like NIN - but please! talk about a formula band! let's just all find one riff and ONE RANDOM VOCAL LINE and repeat it about 20 times and call it a song, shall we???

  • nin usually uses verses and choruses, but the songs arent ridiculously formulamatic. only a few songs repeat "one random vocal line", most others repeat choruses (like the one in Ten Ton Brick.) Almost every band uses some sort of "formula" to write their music, including Tool and Opeth, two of the biggest progressively influenced bands. also the fact that you Hurt fans are thumbs downing all comments that speak the truth (hurt isnt the best band ever) shows how petty you are.

  • hmmm - don't think I've ever "thumbs-downed" a comment on here, no matter the subject!

but hey - like I said - I actually really do like NIN, despite (in MY opinion) the fact that most of their songs tend to go with the *WE'VE GOT ONE GREAT LINE - LET'S REPEAT IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER* formula... it works for them.?

so how bout you give HURT another try? something other than Ten Ton Brick?

just asking - if you don't want to - that's cool too. :)

  • seeing as how all of my comments have been on the webpage of a song other than ten ton brick, doesnt that say that i enjoyed ten ton brick enough to try other stuff?

and that comment wasnt directed exactly to you. it was more of a general comment. sorry for the confusion.

  • very true! :)

however, I would say that THIS ("Aftermath") is prolly NOT a song for the kinda HURT newbie... it's more for us die-hards? check out some of their more main-stream stuff like RAPTURE, FALLS APART, LODED, SUMMERS LOST, etc.... (hey - just go to MY PAGE! lol)

  • Yea I can understand how you wouldn't like these kind of HURT songs when they're new to you but Rapture, Falls Apart, Ten Ton Brick, and Loded are probably more up your alley. Im not downthumbing TOOL etc. The only bands I can't stand are pop bands that call themselves rock, aka Nickelback.

  • there are plenty of bands that can top hurt! TOOL is 30X better than these guys!

  • NuReflexion i totally agree. Tool is far better than hurt

  • totally disagree

  • my bad I was replying to someone else's comment

  • look this up! Tool The Grudge Radio City Music Hall live #3

  • nin sucks monkey balls buddy. i really doubt J. Loren would copy anyone.

  • yeah who copies a two-note rhythm? OMG! No one's done that before! Those idiots. Music has been Music a very long time. Every thing's been done once, especially two-note rhythms.

  • Go douche with Drano, jackoff.

  • I noticed that "La Mer" similarity too... But this song is good anyway...

  • some very interesting concepts were used, it could use a little better fluidity. All in all excellent video from a fan for an awesome song!

  • I must say that I usually don't care to watch fan videos that often but with that being said, your video was well thought out and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Gread job! I loved it.

  • awesome!!!

    i love this song!!!

u made a really nice video there ;)

great job, as with the "alone with the sea" video

keep on going like that, if u r planing on making another one i would love to see "house carpenter" from the vol I

    =P

  • wow...you did a great job on this. Almost as good as your sea video!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU MAKE A DANSE RUSSE VIDEO. I can send you the acoustic version if you want. I find it more powerful then the cd release. Anyway keep up the great work!!

  • Wow...incredible, I'm going to send this to the band, ok?

  • I agree, very cool sounding song. Some unusual video clips but does go with the feel of the song.

    Keep On Rockin,

    FinishLine

  • nice video

i feel bad for you this video is cool and no has posted any comments

    i like it

    thanks

  • thanks mash, your comment made my day :)
