Other quotes from John Taffin in hus book about the USFA Six guns: "USFA sixguns are very nearly perfext..." "...USFA sixguns receive a perfect grade of 100%" (regarding chamber throats and trigger pull). "USFA's ...made well or better as any of the 1st gen Colts...no cylinder play..." from "SINGLE ACTION SIXGUN" pgs 104-110.
US Firearms are the BEST SAA Colt clones ever built! They are BETTER than the 1st generation Colt SAA. USFA's are made in Colt's old original factory under the "Blue Dome" in Hartford! In his book, "Single Action Sixguns," author John Taffin states... "USFA ...the finest factory-built six gun i have ever seen... unlike other replicas, this one is all-American."
i have no problem at all carrying a single action revolver with all six... you can easily test the safety notch to make sure its still functioning properly, and replace if not.. it takes many, many shots or poor use to wear it down to that point
@ultimatehunter124 Save-up some extra money and buy a US Firearms Rodeo. It may not have the finish of the standard US Firearms Single Action, but it is a quality firearm. Hell, keep saving-up money and buy the standard finished revolver with blue and color case finish. If you want something really first class, have Paul Persinger in El Paso make a set of ivory grips for the gun.
Do not ever waste your money on an Armi San Marco POS.
what i want to see but no one would do a review on is the 1875 remington with the 5 1/2 inch barrel, preferably the cimarron model which comes in .44-40, which is the most historically accurate model they make as remingtons really didnt use the colt cartridges
There's a great deal of truth in that. The Black Hills "cowboy loads"(misnomer) were loaded with just enough smokeless propellant to reduce the amount of recoil in between shots in competition shooting where speed is a factor. Now the black powder loads are loaded to the same specs that they would have been in the 1870's. If you want to step back in time with these six shooters, then the black dawg ammo will do the trick.
So it want my imagination. After 16 years of leaving it I have finally decided to attempt to get my firearms licence here in the UK,god its a lengthy process, but here goes, wish me luck, thanks again for some truly brilliant videos from deepest Kentucky!
I got some of that black dawg ammo for my Colt SAA revolver in 45 colt. And i loved it. The box bosts 1190 fps with 235 grain lead round nose bullets thats nearly 739 ft lbs of energy at muzzle. I love these bullets I didn;t seem to have any accuracy issues with mine though.
you are a very good shot (clap clap)

Single action shooting rules dictate that only 5 rounds are loaded even prior to a shooting match.

that's pretty good shooting for a handgun.

Black powder is the ONLY way to shoot a SAA or clone. I have a USFA Henry Nettleton and it sees no smokeless.....

I know the reason for skipping the one chamber is supposed to be a saftey issue when carrying, but why not load six since you are just shooting?

Defiantely seems to be alot more power with the black powder load than the sub.

Because when you load the last round, you rotate the cylinder to the empty chamber.

That's a beauty of a six shooter.

How do you know that the one slot you "skip" is the one that ends up in front of the firing pin?
