  • @adamt188 Thanks man for that wonderful comment, I appreciate it and thanks for stopping by and checking it out.

  • Great... Just great... Keep going!

  • @mgautocar Thanks for your encouragement, much appreciated and thanks for watching.

  • Why doesn't this have more views? Epic mate simply EPIC!

  • @DonforDead Thanks a lot, you are kind. To answer your question, probably because I'm not a young, good looking chic playing an acoustic drum kit playing a contemporary pop song. I'm being a bit facetious, but if you do a search on girl drummers you'll know what mean. I'm just being cheeky, but I appreciate folks like yourself for checking out a cover like this.

  • @rhythmantic Well I'm 16 and I appreciate talent regardless who it is, and I appreciate yours, keep it up, subscribed!

  • @DonforDead Thank you.

  • @rhythmantic I think its because not to many people type 'sounds of silence - drum cover' into youtube. good try though.

  • @moveintime666 Hmm..you just gave me the idea to leave out & delete the words: "Drum Cover" in the titles and descriptions of all my cover videos.

  • @rhythmantic What I meant to say was you were way off the mark with your absurd explanation, but take from it what you will.

  • @moveintime666 Absurd to you to perhaps, however, my own observation on YT informs me otherwise.

  • @rhythmantic No no no. You have to understand that in your head you think you're arguing demographics. but if someone types 'drums' into youtube they're going to see videos of people doing drums solos, or drum remixes of songs. Not somewhat obscure drum covers of beginner songs. Now its great what youre doing, youre playing drums to a song you like and i can only see that there is only one other drum cover of this song. But youre comment is just way out of left field.

  • @moveintime666 I beg to differ. If Meytal Cohen of Cobus covered this song there would be 10s of thousands of views within 24 hours of the upload. That's what I'm referencing.

  • @rhythmantic what you're not understanding again is that he is a very accomplished drummer and when he covers songs he doesn't just play the snare and hi-hat, he plays complex rhythmic progressions. You aren't doing anything special what so ever. This isn't a debate if you're a good drummer or not, it's about the statement you made. one that i may have dismissed by a twelve year old 'think they know it all'. You're to old to honestly not know how marketing a product works.

  • @moveintime666 I'm an accomplished drummer, having played over 47 years & many styles of music. On my channel there are examples of complex drum rhythmic patterns, so your argument isn't a valid one. The question I was asked that started this rabbit trail was why this video didn't have more views & the answer is the same as the one I initially gave: It's a matter of, 1. gender/age; 2. acoustic drums use, 3. contemporary songs. All 3 of these cater to a very large demographic that frequent YT.

  • @rhythmantic You have to have a product in the first place, also in your case, a market. Supply and demand also play a large role. the supply being drummers on youtube vs the demand, people watching the videos. where do you see a drum cover of sounds of silence being on the scale.

  • of that's really rare that I keep watching a video til the end but.. It was so perfect I couldn't stop!!!

  • @RankielGuitar Thanks, you're quite good yourself, I hear Sloop John B. I've sent invite.

  • @rhythmantic oh thanks! :) I accept invite for sure!

  • I'm thinking about starting the drums and you sure are my motivation! Amazing style and work!

p.s. love the smile at the beginning :)

  • @Quandlavilledort Thanks so much for watching and for your kind encouraging comment. Yea, I was just being a silly goof. I'm glad to hear that I've motivated you and if you do play, be sure to use my videos to learn from.

  • what kind of drum is that, like what brand?

  • @Beatlesman227 On my channel page, under About Me, you'll find all the details. Thanks.

  • @rubbersoul7654321 Thanks rubbersoul man.

  • very nice! I have the TD-6v, just start to learn.

  • @car11220 Thanks. Very good, Roland makes good edrums no matter the model.

  • very good !!! like it

  • @bboyoren Thanks for checking it out.

  • Really like your cover. Was searching for different versions of the song, thanks a lot for your drum version.

  • @Sardmar Thank you so much for watching it. Good to hear from Russia.

  • This is a perfect cover sir! Glad to have found this! Also what kit is that?

  • @masterfries Thanks a lot. It's a Roland V-Drums TD-12 kit.

  • Neat!

  • @SherryMcCamley Thanks for watching.

  • love this song it brings me back memories

  • @alexmyyt69 Yes, it certainly does for me too.

  • That's awesome. Did you miss a fill right before "tenemant hall"? Or am I imagining one there?

  • @jamesblackburnlynch I intentionally left that fill out because it wasn't necessary & the drummer jumped the gun by not letting the phrase complete. Just because it's on a record doesn't mean it's the right thing to play. I use drum fills as a device to lead into the next section, i.e., into chorus, verse, bridge, instrumental, etc. It also acts as a directional signal to the other musicians and/or delineates a phrase. After "tenement halls" is where the phrase completes thereby the fill.

  • @rhythmantic Yeah, I see that, but I kinda thought his idea was that this was the end of the song (for the drums) and this was a way of announcing something a bit different. That is, the end is coming.

I love your video and your playing, by the way. Just curious.

  • @jamesblackburnlynch That's the point: my fill announces the outro, the drummer on the recording's fill was premature, he announced the ending too soon, probably was not well rehearsed or familiar with the phrase/lyrics. The end of lyrics comes AFTER "tenement halls", not before, obviously. And I think he then plays another fill in the right place. Thank you for your interest, you have good ears and attention to details. Glad you liked the cover, I appreciate you taking the time and to comment.

  • @rhythmantic I don't know how good my ear is actually. I decided to try to learn a song, all parts, and play it myself. Sounds of Silence was appealing, but I don't have the ear to hear all the parts (particularly Paul's harmony). I was going to take a look at the drums when I saw your video.

My goal is to actually play a song note for note, exactly as it was played. So I do actually want to get every fill, even if it's not a good idea. Just to be able to do it is all.

  • @jamesblackburnlynch ...And that is a very noble endeavor. As a teenager that is how I played drums to The Beatles & other songs of that era-note for note, (that's how I learned) but as I became more experienced and got more technique, I couldn't avoid my own self-expression and musical sensibility.

  • You really are the man, my favorite subscription

  • @GreatDylan420 Thank you so much.

  • Your electric drums sounds so real... You really enjoy playing music, that's why your videos are so good, Sir, you're amazing!!!

  • @albensil I appreciate your encouragement and taking time to listen and comment. Here's the thing, the sounds are real drums recorded in real studios, it's only what I'm playing-VDrums, that isn't real, but even their drum pads are made by Remo so they respond pretty much like an acoustic drum head. The hi-hat the is the most difficult to get right.

  • man, how i wish you were in hk or im in america so we could jam together!!! :)

  • @kevinkahomusic Yes me too, you are very talented musician/songwriter/vocalist
