  • You have the #174 mounted perfectly!! So many times the special "off beat" flash pattern of the Super Beacon is not realized because of inproper mounting.

  • @MrIMBECILE1 . Thanks! I don't think folks realize how it's suppose to be mounted. It is quite an effective warning device.

  • Someone actually mounted the beacon and aimed it correctly!

  • fuckin awesome car never seen anything like it

  • Pretty sweeet! Nice model 174 doing its thing. Nice vintage ambulance vids! Thanks for sharing them. Love that '57 Chevy ambulance.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed them!

  • What type of siren?

  • An electro mechanical siren under the hood. It's a B&M S8M9.. You can still purchase that piece of histroy new from B&M sirens in California. It retails for around $1350.00 usd. The current model of this siren comes standard with a siren brake. Mine does not have one..It's a late 60's model. The 1967 Superior also has an electronic Federal Intetrceptor siren box. Check my other videos to hear the B&M siren in action. It coasts much longer than Q siren with it's brand new bearings! Enjoy!

  • Great looking Ambulance! Awesome Beacon! I have a 2 bulb and a 4 bulb, but mine just rotate. Reminds me of the blue one on Hawaii 5-0.

  • Yeah, same light as the one on Hawaii Five 0. Very cool indeed!

The Federal 174 is otherwise known as the Super Beacon Ray.
