I have the Das Phantom der Oper album, and I'm really curious of who the actors are (it doesn't say on the information) I really enjoy the Deutsch recording. Does anyone know who the actors are? This is the full album name: Das Phantom der Oper: Die Höhepunkte der Hamburger Aufführung. To anyone who knows, DANKE!
I like his performance. He is just perfect in this scene. The Phantom at this point in the show (as well as in the novel) has gone completely over the edge. The facade has been dropped & the mad man has emerged. I am so tired of the "sexy" Phantoms! The only thing that is suppose to seduce Christine is The Phantom's voice!
@waathewitch Ooo and the fact that Uwe is shorter than his Christine is even more effective when you think about it. Erik is a former circus freak & him being shorter than Christine actually is far more startling & believable!
@jimsed1964 Afret all nobody said Phantom was big, or physically imposing. Scary Opera Ghost was more of a theatrical trick by erik, than anything else. This little, scared and very vulnerable figure, as played by Uwe, is as you said more believable :)
@jimsed1964 I totally, agree, but I think this makes him all the more pathetic and, therefore . . . adorable . . . Scary yes (imagine yourself in Christine's shoes!!!), but still, there's that sympathy . . . reminds me a bit of his beast . . .
@waathewitch haha I prefer thonk. I just think he’s a bit too creepy. I can’t feel empathy for him. And it’s too erratic and confused. But yes, matter of taste. Everyone has a fave phantom x
Also ich muss sagen das Uwe einen Unglaublichen Ausdruck in der Stimme hat!!!! Und soooo schlecht singt er es gar nicht, finde ich! Er is vielleicht ein bisschen klein für die Rolle aber sonst....
@TheToffer1987 That's why I love his interpretation of the Phantom so much :) Here, in the lair, Phantom's mask slips down and we see him as he really is: scared, pathetic creature,so hungry of love, yet still deadly dangerous.
Hm.. ich glaube, dass das Anne Görner als Christine.
Und um den Herrn Kröger mal in Schutz zu nehmen: ich find ihn auf dieser Aufnahme wirklich gut, stimmlich zumindest!
Habe da schon wesentlich schlechtere Rollen von ihm gesehen.
